Which came first: Blaster or Soundwave?

Soundwave came first.
And there are some significant differences between the two other than their heads.

Soundwave came first, in all manners of speaking.
In the cartoon, he was in episode 1, Blaster came around in "Blaster Blues."
In the comics, he was there when the Ark crashed. Blaster was shown on Cybertron later. (Sidenote: Soundwave is the only character to survive from the beginning of the G1 comics to the end of the G2 comics without dying, going offline for any amount of time, or just being forgotten.)
Also, the toy Soundwave came first.
I think the only manner in which Blaster has him beat is their alt modes. The big ghetto blaster (no pun) was around before the cassette player came out.

Soundwave came out in 1984 I believe with Buzzsaw included.
Blaster came out in 1985.

Actually, Blasters first appearance in the cartoon was in "Dinobot Island, Part 1".

Yeah, Soundwave was first, but the comics ('specially IDWs' Spotlights) seem to try shoehorning them both into a side by side existance. SW is the baddie in Blasters' Spotlight, so like as a retcon they exist simultaneously I guess.
