They're all good in their respective arts.
1986 - Classic, part of the golden era of transformers
2007 - Brought Transformers back into the public eye after 20 odd years of dormancy. Great effects, a better (imo) Bumblebee and Prime
2009 - Continued with above (once again IMO) enjoyed the Robotic violence and really brought the whole WAR thing to perspective.
Once again, just my opinions.

07 Is pretty much a perfect movie, good designs, convincing effects, decent story, good fight scenes. It was a good standalone movie.
86 was ok but it was so tied to the series(wait what is my point here?), I don't know I just didn't like it that much...strangely enough I watched it all the time when I was littler.
09 Had it's good and bad, bad:way more cussing(isn't TF ingeneral aimed at KIDS?) Alice, Sam's Mom, Devastator's.....yeah, and most of all(tied with Alice) the dogs. Good:Much better fight scenes(forest fight is just amazing) but didn't focus on the cool characters enough(Sideswipe, Jolt) instead they focus on the twins, which were ok but them so much? Everyone wants to see SIDESWIPE!

definitely on the side of Star Wars rip-off original TF:TM. The 07 one wasn't completely terrible, but it, and the subsequent promotional material for the sequel were enough to make sure that despite Megan Fox nearly folding completely in half over a motorcycle I still didn't go to see ROTF.

The movie transformers was just the greatest both of them!!! The first movie was a great intoduction and the second movie was really getting into it.... my friends say i am obssesed because i talk about it to much! i am 16 and i have watched both of the transformers together about 10 to 12 times.

My opinion:
1986 movie is my favorite. It is such a classic and tied the series together. It's a fun movie to watch and always loved the story line. Starscream's line of "who disrupts my coronation?!" is a big inside joke between my husband and I.
I like both of the live action movies as well. Both movies, while having some continuities to the various TF series, are their own thing. I took them for what they are and really enjoyed both. TFTM built the story and ROTF brought everything into perspective with more history. I just wish there would have been more character development in the latter film. Just my .02 cents

For me, the Cartoon movie being first, with the '07 being a close second. The Cartoon movie is classic, with all the right stuff in it.
I loved the realistic effects of '07, especially the ones with Barricade and Blackout. I however disliked the romantic junk with Sam and Mikaela, as that was tedious to sit through. I don't like Megan Fox in real life anyway, because she likes to brag about how she is a bi-sexual and God's gift to men, and also I think the girl who played Alice in the second movie looks a lot better then her.

+1. too many lame jokes and not enough character development, at least in the cartoons we knew character and power traits ie:negative gears or mirages invisibility or the lack of cohesivness with the aerialbots and silverbolt!!!

86 had its faults, like Prime dying, but it was so beautifully realised, it still looks great. My kids love it, so it lives on. 07..didnt like 70% of the bot designs but it left a foundation and the action was well executed. ROTF, i think is crap, pure and simple. However, I will say no more as the ROTF mafia who consider that film a rich and meaningful masterpiece don't like anyone saying that...apparently it had a good script etc

It's hard to say because in the 07 movie, the CGI was great, and OP seemed like he wasn't afraid to squish a human or two... but that's about it for me anymore. Revenge of The Fallen is my least favorite due to the fact that I had no idea what was going on the entire movie. I love the old movie. I didn't like how they threw in new characters at the last minute and killed of everyone else, but they did make an attempt to develop the characters a bit. I also support rhyming wheelies
