WARNING: The following topic assumes that you enjoyed 2007's Transformers did not enjoy Revenge of the Fallen. Anyone who disagrees with this is better off clicking the back button.

Okay. TF1 was written by two guys: Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. TF2 was written by those guys and a new guy, Ehren Kruger. After that disaster, isn't there anyone who thinks it's a bad idea to have TF3 be written entirely by Ehren Kruger?

I used to be certain TF3 would tank, but then I realized that TF2 was written at least partially during the Writer's Strike. So blame that on the Writer's Strike if you want, and say TF3 might be okay. I still think the whole Ehren Kriger thing is a bad idea. And either way, there is clearly someone with considerable creative control over both TF sequels who either cares very little for the Transformers mythology, or cares very much about making us fans go .

By the way, I know the second movie in the Bay Trilogy isn't spposed to be called Transformers 2, "because [that] sounds stupid," according to Roberto Orci. Well, I don't have to tell you why I call it that anyway.

I don't think that the problem is in Ehren Kruger. For TF2 Orci and Kurtzman were already working on the script when Kruger joined to help them because of the short time. Ehren Kruger is one of the best writers out there. I love his work on: The Skeleton Key, The Ring, Arlington Road etc. By the way Ehren is a great G1 fan so we can expect a very G1 orientated final chapter. Many of the actors and crew said that this is the best TF script so far, so lets see.

I agree with Albershide, if there's suckage in TF3, it won't be from Kruger most likely. Orci and Kurtzman screwed up RoTF. Period. The writers' strike was going on, and whatever time they had they dedicated to Star Trek, and wrote RoTF on the fly, this much they themselves said. Basically, they chose Trekkies over Transfans, and ended up betting on the wrong horse, because even though Star Trek was damn good, RoTF blew it away at the box office. Of course, RoTF wasn't better quality wise, but clearly more people were interested in it, so they should have dedicated more time to that. And of course, let's not forget Bay's penchant for idiotic sophomoric humor. That was a contributor as well.

I can't see how a movie about warring transforming robots directed by Michael Bay would tank because of the writing. It's just a very visual-heavy film series, not lore/story-heavy.

Wait, I'm confused is this about the movie tanking or the movie sucking. because just because a movie sucks doesn't mean itll tank.

Well Transformers blew the doors off the box office, and RoTF vaporized what was left, so TF3 will probably blow up the theatre. So no.

Ex-damn-sactly! You know the movie isnt going to have alot of story, so why do people that keep bitching about it keep going to see it!?

I think this one will be better than ROTF which isn't hard the main problem with the bay film is the stupid childish humor I honestly was expecting ROTF to be darker more serious simmilar to revenge of the sith but when I saw it it was worse for the humor then the original I mean Giant balls on Devastator there are like 60 12 year old kids that think that's funny whoopee do da. I hope this film will actually be the film that's darker and more serious the reason I think Revenge was so bad was that the writers were strained from the strike and Bay wrote most of it

I don't think it'll tank, in fact I'll be shocked if it does. The critics might not have liked RotF, but the general public did. When I saw it the audience was cheering at some parts and the end, so I think they enjoyed it and probably can't wait for the next one.

it may tank but then again some of the movies that "tanked" I've enjoyed

This comment made me not regret life as much as I used to!

For people who didn't like the first 2 films...skip it. I can understand seeing the first and not liking it. And even giving it a second chance. This is the third film now, so I think you've firmly planted your opinion by now. So save your money till it comes out on DVD and rent it.

Or atleast wait till you get some reassurance from critics or other fans whether or not it's worth seeing.... Who am I kidding you're all going see it anyways just so you'll have something to complain about.

Whole Dark of the moon doesn't exactly inspire me to want to see the movie more I'm sure whatever trailer that comes out during the super bowl will. It's not as if something ever with a quirky name hasn't been a smash hit as George Lucas has done alright with the prequels regardless of their B movie quality names. (I hear attack of the clones and just think of some black and white horror movie like War of the worlds or creature of the black lagoon.)

The public as largely enjoy the movies much to the disapointment of critics whom probably all died alittle inside at Bay's continued success. (Eat Slag Ebert!) I know will be in line with my sisters kids(whom I jokely say Autobrats roll out!) to see the next installment. Bay's already got my family's money. I know I am not alone. We are here ...we are waiting...(cues a linkin park song.)

Hey guys. Long time lurker first time poster.

Reading this thread brought back the memories of how, at least on the internet, liking the Transformers films was some kind of capital crime. Disagreeing with the critics opened you up to all the anti-Bay hatewank backed by "professional opinion" (and let's face it, Ebert descended into troll territory with his "insufficiently evolved" comment).

But you know what? When I saw both Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen, I had alot of fraking fun and so did the audience with me. I haven't heard cheering like that from an audience since I saw Star Wars.

I say bring on the bad reviews and Bay-hate. Let them spew their immature trolling commentary. This July I'll be having fun in the theater again. As they say on some message boards: Haters gonna hate.

TFROTF was pretty ****, loved Skids and Mudflap, but most of the film was crapacting humans!!! the TF's were basically background noise at the end of the movie

TF3...i'm expecting the same, when Bay announced it was the last movie i thought - **** he's gonna kill prime AGAIN

FTR The 1950s version of War of the Worlds was shot in color. I should know my dad has it on DVD and it's pretty damn good movie. The Creature From the Black Lagoon is in black and white but also was orginally shot in 3D and is awesome film too.

Pick whatever B movie then you want for the analogy to work from that era. I wanted give a name people might know and still got the point across.

I know nothing about the Writers. But so far, TF3 just looks like it has a bit more...thought? Into it...besides "WheelJack" the story seems to be a bit more well thought out, plus people are gonna see it anyways...

Yeah, thats what I said about ROTF. Thats what I said while I was watching ROTF. Thats what I said after I watched ROTF. But when I saw the reviews on the internet, I said "screw this."

I didn't get the reviews at all. They made it out to be the worst movie in existence or at least alot of random youtube people did. Of course, on YT there's always a bunch of random people who hate whatever it is.

You have to wonder if they even watch movies very often...

Only because its "cool" to make fun of M Bay. I saw people on YT praising WFC for things that the movies did, and yet they complained about it in the movies!
