why i believe the seacons (and others) will appear on T2
i'm basing this on what happened on the ending of the first movie but i may be proven wrong.
the movie shows clips of megatron and the others being dumped to the ocean where the authorities hope no one can mount a salvage operation, assuming that they really dumped them overboard (and not stowed away at a secret lab for dissection) i believe the seacons will be appearing on the second movie.
starscream returns to the rest of the decepticon fleet and presents evidence of megatron's demise, some will believe him and others won't and assuming the megatron loyalists go to earth and do their own investigation they'll probably need the seacons to do a salvage operation on megs (assuming they really did dump him overboard). other than finback, the seacons are the only marine cons that can do the job (trypticon can travel underwater too but i doubt he can do a better salvage operation).
as for the dinobots and predacons they'll most probably be suited to appear on a third movie because i believe that
transformers 1 = fellowship of the ring (introductory movie, let's us get a feel and get used to the visuals)
transformers 2 = the two towers (once we're comfortable with the visuals and designs, Bay sics massive carnage ala siege of helm's deep)
transformers 3(?) = return of the king (more carnage but wraps up the story in a fitting ending)
that's just my opinion

Jezus bloodey feking Christ!!!
(No offense meant to Christians, just an exclamation)
The movie sereis IS NOT GENERATION ONE!!!
Get over it!
It is quite possible Bay will get the designers to come up with a BRAND NEW CHARACTER who can travel underwater, that is if this idea comes up in the sequel.
Look at Barricade. Yes the name has been used before, but was the personality of Movie Barricade a G1 Character??? NO!
Same with Blackout. Bonecrusher was not a member of the constructicons, so we can assume he's not a G1 character. Brawl wasn't a G1er either... In fact the only G1 characters reused as Movie Decepticons were Megatron & Starscream!
I'm sorry I used so much emotive language in that but I believe it was necessary, people need to realize Transformers isn't only about reusing characters & homaging G1.

Man, I would totally have a fan-gasm if ever they put even one Seacon in the live action movies.
Seawing would be perfect as a hyper-fast speedboat:

All I need is Soundwave, and a Decepticon combiner.
For #3, I want Unicron, and maybe Primus, if that's not too confusing

uhhhh i never mentioned they be G1 or the BW2 seacons, i just mentioned why a specialized team of marine decepticons would be featured in the second movie

DUDE! You didn't read my fekin post at all! Look at the quote: You said "the seacons are the only marine cons that can do the job (trypticon can travel underwater too but i doubt he can do a better salvage operation)" Thats what I was talking about... That sorta suggests that you believe the movie to be G1 ¬¬
It's quite easy for someone to make a new character NOT BASED ON G1 that can go underwater...

No unicron, no primus. No transformer gods.
As far as seacons go, i dont know jack squat about them but any protoform can land on earth and scan any marine vessel capable of underwater salvage and voila.
characterwise this movie series will most likely only consist of core characters(not nessesarily from g1) that the masses can recognize. The mass majority of ppl would be like "why are they called seacons, what makes them so different that they arent called decepticons or whatever they are called?" Its much easier to describe a transforming boat than it is for them to descride a side faction of sea capable bots.

QFT
Given there was a rumour of an Aircraft carrier - and probably designs hidden away somewhere - I imagine they would carry that on. Unless they ditch it because that's what's expected.
