Oh they will be on DVD, you can then just import them-without having to buy a region free DVD player. Cos Germany has the same code as the UK. B-)

They are not out jet, they are currently letting the fans decide which DVD box design they want.
Oh I don't know if they will do the same for Energon, they would have to translate and dub it first, was never shown in Germany as were the toys.

Hasbro's lead TF designer, forgot his name, had Armada, Energon and Cybertron writtenout as one big series that connected together.
But the Anime studios did not listen to what the boss was saying, meaning that Hasbro had to edid the 3 shows that they kinda fitted the original script that was written out long before Armada even started to air.

No they were suposed to be the same characters over and over, hench why there is a Hotshot in every line. They are actually the same just since the animation companies did not do as they were told, they always ended up being reset.

Yes they were suposed to be 1,2 and 3, and yes they were suposed to change looks to make money just like BW.

It should have been that way, but then Cybertron went into a completely different direction. Aron Archer, I think he is he whriter of it, even called it the Unicron Trilogy.

Just checked they want volume one out between may and Jun!
It will have all 52 eppies with the English and German dub, and may have bonus material, and extra toys would be awesome.
Here are the 3 covers which the fans get to choose from:

Great article CP.

There were only a couple of things I didn't like about Armada. The cartoon really was sub-par. And the articulation on the transformers left a lot to be desired, especially since what we got from RiD.

The articulation especially gets to me. Some of the figures were awesome, had great potential, but since they had to adhere to and work around the Powerlink gimmick, the articulation would be limited.

Red Alert, Blurr, Wheeljack, Smokescreen, to name a few that were awesome, and had the potential to be much more.

No volume 1 will have 26 eppys that was my mistake, I just said htey will be bringing out all 52 eppys since Germany only ever got like half of the show.

You got this here dead on. The MiniCon ports where supose to do just like you said, augment and empower the main figure.

Now some things did suck in Armada, like the name(when first herd, I was expecting fleet assaults). Articulation, I don't see why we couldn't have the same awesome gimmics, and knees. Still an automated trailer for Prime was real kick ass no matter how bad he looked!

Image wise, some of the Autobot deluxes just made you wonder why(Hot Shot, Sideways), but the Decepticons looked real good.

As for the MiniCons, outside of the name "MiniCon" I never minded them, I always saw them like Scamper who came with Metroplex. No real reason for him, he's just a nice bonus. Unlike Scamper though, these guys actualy did something though, and they are very versatile. A nice detailed reintro of the MicroMaster concept. The Classics ones realy suck though.

To top it, these figures standardized the fist hole, making all weapons much mor veratile. I actualy get mad when I buy a new figure who has a post needed for transformation that is the same size as a minicon port without a hollow center.

See the way I figure it, is reguardless of line, I think once an idea is put into play, keep it in play. After all, Armada was years ago, and MiniCons are still being made with the ports!?!

As for the story line of MiniCons augmenting the main bots bodies, well yeah, thats why in Energon the ports where refered to as "DEAD". To me it implied that although a figure could stil carry a mini, the events of Armada pushed the issue of bot development to an understand where they could not only find these atributes on their own, they could push themselves to the PowerLinx state(spark of combination my ass)

As for Unicron, outside of the planet shell kibble, and the fact that he only had 2 toes, you'll hear no complaints from me.

In short, nice article, I can't help but agree, and for myself, I'd rather have a smaller partner bot then some stupid planet key(got a box full of them), the minis at least have solo play value.

Your Right.
Armada is one of the underdog TF series.
It was a rarity among most toy shows at the time because the toys and the show were good.

For me the fiction makes the line. In common with G1, the Armada cartoon really left me cold, but the comics were very well done in both cases.

The MTMTE series while not as impressive as the G1 series, had some nice ideas and went along way towards winning me over to Armada. I particularly enjoyed Predacon and Overload's files.

There was one thing Armada had that no other TF series had, though the movie comes close, and that's a fantastic computer game. A game that holds well against any other whether you're a TF fan or not. Great exploration, variety and top notch CGI cut scenes, my favourite being Prime's interrogation of Starscream. Oh and the Tidal Wave level is something else. If the cartoon had the team behind the game working on it, it would easily be the best TF toon ever, surpassing even Beast Wars, at least in my opinion.

Toywise, not a huge fan of Mini-cons, though I love Prime and Overrun. Also, G1 Ultra Magnus has a port on his forearm that holds Mini-cons which may interest fans.

Again, in my opinion, as with the movie line, the Decepticons definitely get the better toys: Megatron, Seekers. Demolisher and Tidal wave. It also shares the movie lines greatest flaw, horrible scaling. I'm looking at annoyingly large Red Alert. Strangely if he and Sideswipe had been basics/scouts, they'd have been my favourie Autobots.

Anyway, that's my ten cents and I thoroughly enjoyed CP's review. Nice to see Armada's positives being highlighted. Like the Mini-con reformatting angle as I wasn't aware of that. It does add to the fiction.

P.S. Would love to see Tidal wave repainted as G1 Broadside.
