Why not a spooky storyline for Transformers?
Why not a spooky storyline for Transformers?

Dead Universe saga isn’t “scary” enough. Maybe add a C’thulu type being to battle? In their toy bio, Mindwipe was more inclined with the “occult”, occult/spooky stuff briefly touched in DW limited series "Dark Ages" and later in the discontinued G1 series against Sunstorm. And possession of the body in "Starscream's Ghost", "Ghost in the Machine" and BW "Possession".
For us humans, those things that go bump in the night scares the sh*t out of us. From kids to us man/kids lol! So, aside from fearing permanent termination and status lock, what would drive a TF insane with fear (removing Unicron in the discussion)?
I hope you all get what I mean? TF are technically immortal, fear of death is more likely an afterthought because they can be repaired unless their actual sparks are extinguished. But what about facing a foe that can't be easily destroyed by a blaster?
Like maybe a wormhole/portal opened similar to the movie Event Horizon? All hell breaks loose (not unlike The Return of Optimus Prime, only scarier).

Then you have the first episodes of Transformers Prime, with the Terrorcons!
If you haven't read or seen those, I'd recommend you gave them a try.

First up, Transformervania!

It was one of my first pieces, and the writing hasn't aged that well...
But for a short three page storyline starring a bot from another continuity...

And some horror is unseen by the naked eye...

And last, but certainly not least, there's "Destroy All Monsters", a fourteen page epic that sorta fits the bill:

Infestation. The name of the thing you're looking for is Infestation. The first involved a portal with undead vampire cyborgs and the second was based (SO VERY LOOSELY) on Lovecraft.
Read those and you'll have your answer: they...kind of suck.
CC, however, there is some fun scary fanfic.

It's about as authentic to the Lovecraft mythos as most of the B- rated movies. x_x With pigeon lover Nikolai Tesla. If you like camp, it's aiiiiight. If you like spooky/scary, it was kind of....not so much.
CC, picky about my eldritch horrors from across unspeakable dimensions.
