Worst QC issue or Kibble.

What QC problems on a figure you either have or just know about bothers you the most?

For me its the MP Starscream hip kibble.

I'd like to tuck it back, but it makes the figure stick out more. I mean it's not a major issue at all, and after a while of display you get used to it. I just keep their hip kibble down because, oh well I really can't put it back.

It just detracts from the Starscream look, this big flamboyant tail fin on a robot drooping down, haha.

I don't mind the hip kibble on the MP Seeker molds. Visually, when I look at the wings and hip kibble, it gives the impression of a trench coat or cloak like silhouette, which I think is neat.

Hmm, I'm sure I have some kibble or QC issues to bring up...I just can't think of any at the moment, hehe.

I do not know what they were thinking there. The amount of plastic you have to hack away, two screws removed, just to get the wheels to fold in right! Then there is the head, how hard would it have been to put it on a ball joint?

So yeah, kibble, not really a big problem, Quality Control! Damn straight.

Honestly, what's not wrong with that figure? his QC was so bad on that I've never even fathomed of buying it.

Once hacked to bits, re-assembled, and re-painted in places, it (They, I got Ratchet too) look pretty nice. I just wish they had ball joints in their heads (or I had a transformer I was willing to cannibalise to get them). That mould is more of a modelling project than a Transformer toy.

Still, if they did a sweet Van/Ambulance version that actually transformed properly, the SUVs would be retired, that's for certain.

For me, Classics Ironhide/Ratchet isn't so much an example of kibble issues, it's a design issue. I happen to like the look of the bot mode but the toy's design seems so unnecessarily complicated. The result is an alt mode that has so many panel separations that it looks like a vehicular accident victim. BT/Alts Skids is what Classics Ironhide/Ratchet should have been.

Of the figures I have displayed right now, I'd say RotF Stratosphere is a big kibble figure. I like the kibble on it, I think it is a part of the unique and unconventional look of the bot mode but I think it has massive kibble for those who want a more straightforward humanoid robot look.

Would the massive plunger poking out of the back of Movie Payload be "kibble"? Or the way he falls apart at a single touch be "QC issues"? Because I'd be hard pressed to find a toy more ruined by these issues than Movie Payload.

Hehe, I think this may have just ended the thread. Is there a better example of kibble and QC issues in Transformers figures?

Kibble issues: Human Alliance Sideswipe. Ungodly back kibble. He's got a car on his back, pure and simple.

Quality control: RID Optimus and the Armada/Energon Scavenger mold for having cheap crap for rubber that split and cracked into little bits. I have vintage Micronaut vehicles that are over 30 years old (stored in the same room) with rubber treads and wheels that are still in great shape, so there is NO excuse for Hasbro using rubber of this pathetic quality.

Yeah, the formula for the rubber used for RiD OP and UM seem be a bit iffy. My RiD UM's tires are fine but it may just be a matter of time. I'm thinking of taking them off at some point and applying tire maintenance to keep them in good condition.

Maybe mine is the exception, but my wheels fold in nice and smoothly, and his head appears to be at a logical level, no issues^^ My only issues is the panel lines in vehicle mode :P Still a great Figure ^^

LOL, know what you mean :P My first breakaway had a right arm that just flopped around. The next one I purchased (darker Variant, got him just as much for the color variant) had everything great about him, all joints tight (and I do mean tight lol, fiddled with parts knowing they should move but they wouldnt lol)

Here, Here !! Great Vehicle and overall bot mode. But you have this 4" plunger sticking out the back and a head/shoulder part that pops off without even looking at it lol. So close, but so far away ^^

For this figure, I think it is great with exception to the feet lol A joint or two to give it more than boat shoes, and it would have been perfect (even minus the Minimus Prime, which I love :P)

I love this figure, and the only problem I really have is his head position (which I don't trust myself enough to disassemble and fix), but I think he looks fantastic in robot mode. Transforming him, that's a whole 'nother subject.

ROTF HA sideswipe and ROTF soundwave. now soundwave is not as bad as sideswipe. its it a robot crammed in a car, and the car is on his back. i dont know about u guys but i like it when the car is part of the actual robot! Ex: ROTF leader prime, the truck is not folded up on his back, the truck is cut in to pieces and in different places. and the ironhide/ratchet issue is annoying but once you have fixed it he transforms alot easier, aside from getting the spine thing in place in robot, it is a struggle.

I feel the same way. I actually want a degree of vehicle kibble in bot mode as it's a visual reminder that this is a robot that turns into something else. As long as the kibble is a coherent part of the bot design, I like it. If it's just there due to poor design, it has no where else to go or can't be configured in another way, that's when I criticize kibble.

Classics Ironhide/Ratchet, to me, isn't ugly in bot mode. It looks like a robot that is also a vehicle so I like it. The feet are clunky, but they work well as the support structure(my Henkei Ratchet has never fallen over thanks to his clown shoes). I don't mind the backpack, it's mostly the poor design of the head placement and broken up alt design that I don't like in the figure.
