Think it seems kinda pointless considering Takara released a Kabaya Overlord in a similar scale. http://www.actionrobo.com/index/image/c ... 00x500.jpg
When those Takara WST TF toys first came out. I bought a whole bunch of them. Then a year later got bored of them all and got rid of them. Have no interest on buying this WST Overlord.

This is not a KO of the Kabaya kit.
It's a garage kit, very likely done for an upcoming Wonerfest in Japan, which means it will be officially licensed by Takara to use Trademarks and designs.
WST is not a KO company, but a fan term for the really old blind boxed line actually called "Smallest Transformers" by Takara in the early 2000s. Loads of companies and customisers have since extended the line by releasing either kits or full blown figures in the same scale.

Ah, so it's become a scale term, not a product definition. That makes sense. I got WST Thrust years ago and more recently the Kabaya Fort Max. They are definitely very different. So, would this be the Kabaya kit, just licensed by Takara? Sorry if this makes me seem dense. This looks identical to the Kabaya kit. I think that's why I am confused.

Agamemnon wrote:Ahhhh, that makes so much more sense. Thanks, DM! I didn't get the Overlord Kabaya, so I was going off of my memory of those kits when I was interested. I certainly didn't see the differences in the original pics in this thread.
And from what you are saying, the increased articulation is a good differentiator from the Kabaya kits. Is there a size difference between these and Kabaya? That could be another one. At any rate, there does appear to be enough difference here to make these worthwhile for those who would like them, although $150 is pricey unless these are bigger than WST. I'd pay $150 for a deluxe to voyager representation of Overlord, even if I had to assemble him myself...
