I'm sorry for making 2 threads in less than an hour, but I had to do this. It just pisses me off so much.

I swear if the government takes away my M rated video games, I'm suing!!!

I am getting this game and I am gonna rub it in their faces! No government agency can take away my games! No one!
No one has ever killed anyone because they play voilent video games! No matter how much people want to believe that, it's all a lie! I especually hate people like whoever came up with this crap.

Reality. It's time you had a dose of it.
And seriously, quit your crying. That game would be instantly banned in Australia because the Government refuses to make a classification for games like that.

Here's a rule that applies to everything in life: The people who kick and scream over being denied something are the ones who aren't mature enough to have it at all.
In any case, heed Burn's advice and quit complaining about it. The Supreme Court decision is expected in June and chances are, they're on our side. And even then, the Australian Government is painfully backwards when it comes to this. So count your blessings, you may not be allowed to buy the game yourself (Any honest store will actually ask to see ID for buying M rated games, like they've been doing for years) but at least the game can be sold in our country.

And that's what makes me mad about it.

Bulletstorm is a wicked game. Tons of butt humor and it's ridiculously awesome. Not 17? Too bad.

I'm 15, and I'm getting this game no matter what. The government cannot deny me my rights!

...I guess.

Yeah they can, actually. Like alcohol. Any place selling M-rated games to minors needs to see valid ID proving you're 18 years or older. This isn't a new law, mind you, it's been in place for a good long while now.

Well, there's this place near me that sells M rated games to me without any ID. It's like the underground drug dealing of video games I guess. Either way, my parents let me buy any game.

Yeah, and they really shouldn't. Remember that talk we had in the thread about Dead Island? You're the shining example of why we shouldn't let kids play whatever they want.

Exactly. When you hate everything, everything will try its hardest to hurt you. You may think it can't, but it's because you're still young. In a few years, you'll either learn to let go of your "hate," or you'll be completely and utterly broken by the world.

Hating everything is different than having to deal with everything.

You're probably not missing much anyway, I played the demo and it was pretty bad. There were times when I'd shoot a baddy in the head like 5 or 6 times before they even noticed I was there. Other than that it was the same old non-linear path through a ruined city FPS game we've all seen 456 times. There are way better games out there that don't need to be controversial to get attention.

I don't think it was trying to be controversial. The people who made it also made freaking Painkiller. This crazy over-the-top violence is average for them.

Yeah that kind of violence is nothing new, I was talking about the names of the skill shots that's causing the buzz. That seems like the kind of thing they put in just to ruffle some feathers and to get a bunch of prudes to complain which draws attention to the game.

I think they were just doing that to be funny, and someone got their panties in a twist anyway. Not everyone has the same taste in humor. When you tell a dirty joke, do you tell it because you think it's going to piss people off, or because you actually think it's funny?

Fox News is BS anyways.
RockPaperShotgun did a wonderful dissection of that piece and found basically that whoever wrote it bascially took things out of context, lied and made stuff up.

I think they were going for both. Anyone not living under a rock should know that having anything remotely sexual in a video game is sure to get people foaming at the mouth. They'll try to get the game banned before it's released without even seeing the content that got them so pissed off in the first place(remember Mass Effect?). So they had to know they were going to cause a fuss.

Actually the game has been out for a few days now. So if they're trying to get it banned, they've got their work cut out for them.
I don't know that the developers were trying to cause a fuss. I think they were looking back at Panikiller and what made that so good and popular, and cranking it up well past eleven. They probably knew that someone would get all pissy over the nature of the game, you can't make a high profile game violent without causing some kind of stir. But I don't know that they made it so offensive on purpose. It's like the show Jackass. They weren't trying to offend, they were doing all of that because they thought it was funny.

Even worse is that he reminds me of myself when I was his age. So, and speaking from experience here, things are going to get a

Yay indeed. So believe me, you do
not want what to experience what lead me from where you are to where I am. I am not joking when I say I've read of people dying over significantly less than what I went through. So quit pretending you hate everything, learn to enjoy life, open up to people, and quit being, as I've been called in the past, a melodramatic drama queen.
