FOC Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus were great, FOC Starscream and TC are awesome, and Gen IDW Megs, Orion Pax, and Trailcutter are just perfect! Also, most of them come with big weapons that are not dinky looking. If less plastic mean increased overall quality, I'm all for it.
So, wadda y'all think?

What they SHOULD do is making a voyager version of both Optimus and Megatron every single times. Even an upscaled version of the actual deluxes could do. Or why not re-introduce the MEGA class for them, if voyager is too big?
On a side note, I'm glad Orion Pax is a deluxe because he's just a white-collar kid. However, the IDW Generations Megatron should have been a voyager all the way. Meh, the deluxe is better than nothing I guess. And Megs is a very nice toy.

That would be my only complaint.
And Blitzwing is bigger than his triple-changing buddies.
Which is really the reverse of this complaint.

Trailcutter is painfully short, and FOC Bruticus does not suck - you're all wrong about that even if you guys don't realize it yet.
The problem is the price tag. If Hasbro made Bigger deluxes, or threw in more accessories, I wouldn't complain. Except now we're often paying $16 for deluxes. We're getting less for more money.

I'm not alone on the FOC Bruticus hate train. Once the new car smell was cleared out, many came to realise all the painful flaws this set has. I sold my FOC G2 colored Bruticus without regrets. However, if you love the FOC Bruticus team, good for you. No one need "permission" from others to like or dislike something afterall.
Sure, if you consider Trailcutter as a TRUCK that transform into a bot, the truck and resulting bot should be bigger than the car-bots and so on. However, the good old scale problem is part of what Transformers is. In the same size class, in the same line, of course everyone will be out of scale with each others. Just take megatron, who as a friggin' FLYING WING should have been a leader class. Arcee in TF PRime, who should have been a Commander instead of a Deluxe, ect, ect. And don't get me started on the ghestalt combiners with absurd limbs (G1 Bruticus and Defensor, I'm starring at you both...)
If I continued to care about scale in Transformers, I would have become crazy by now. That's why I enjoy the toys as they are, individually. Sure, if you want to make a display featuring many characters, the scale issues can be annoying. So, why not put the smaller toys that should be bigger characters in the foreground while putting the bigger toys that should be smaller characters in the background?

Metroplex is just perfect with Cyberverse figures. Strangely enough, normal Voyager Predaking scale well with Cyberverse, but only in dragon mode. I wish there was a DELUXE Predaking to scale with cyberverse for his BOT mode.

It's not just size that's going down, it's weight which is the real problem. Look at how hollow some of the new molds are in robot mode. They're like the reverse of a shellformer or something.
As for the accessories, I would much rather have the same old null rays then these stupidly over-sized guns Thundercracker and Starscream come with. FoC Sideswipe can't even hold up the retarded gun he comes with.
ETA: Funny how retarded gets censored but not **** or ass.

Just too small at such a price. I understand oil is expensive, so the price of plastic toys goes up globally due to this. But, it's not just the size that provokes such disdain for the latest batch of Transformer product. It's the overall quality that we've been getting since animated gave us (in my opinion) some of the cheapest plastic figures I can remember for a long time.
If you compare the likes of a Transformer from say, Galaxy Force / Cybertron, to a modern Generations figure (for example, FOC Bruticus), you will notice a vast difference in the quality.
In a nutshell, I cannot afford to buy high priced, dubious quality renditions of my favorite G1 Transformers.

Hasbro has (is) ripping us off at the deluxe price point and this is what I have deduced:
Prior to FOC and the current Generations line, Hasbro hinted to upping the price point of deluxes back in 2010/2011. We were right here complaining because the last Generations line was selling for I believe almost $14.99 at most of the retailers. Of course people did not buy the figures at this price point so Walmart went in first with a $11.99/$12.99 price point, and then Target and even K-Mart followed. Walmart will hold that price point and then drop to $9.99, and then the other retailers will follow.
Now enter 2012, what did we get with FOC, some of the smallest hollow figures you could ever imagine. I was disappointed at how small FOC Optimus is compared to WFC Optimus. In fact most of the WFC line was pretty solid compared to any of the FOC including those hollowed out voyagers.
Hasbro gave us crap at the same price point. And this is why we still see wave one of the FOC deluxes on the shelves of many Walmarts even now. The plastic is thin and feels light almost akin to KO quality. I have had the SDCC set for Bruticus as well as the original retail five figure set. All of them feel just as light as my Brave KO toys. The only difference is the plastic on the FOC is slightly more sturdier. I have Brave KO's with better plastic (Da Garn X giftset). I had the FOC Grimlock/Bruticus set twice but both toys are big disappointments. I think the gave a little more sturdiness to Runination when I compared handling them
Next is the new Generations line. They are not real deluxes, these are slightly larger scout class figures. I compared them to most of the scout class figures from the A/E/C and they are only a tad bigger. I know the Classics line always had scale issues but the new Generations line takes the cake. Classics Bumblebee has more weight than Trailcutter and is bigger than Orion Pax/Megatronus. On my shelf right now, TFCC Dion is a head taller than Megatronus.
I'm not gonna give any credit to Hasbro at all. I have held this in since late 2012 but I feel I have had enough. The biggest surprise is how the voyager price point has held on to $19.99 yet the Deluxe price point wants to creep up every year at one point hitting as high as $15.49 at Target.
Now I know Hasbro is in the business of making money but each year I get more and more selective in my purchases of the company that originated the Transformers line than I do with 3P. I believe it's time to stop giving the benefit of the doubt to any corporation that tries to screw you because you care about the extremely large salaries they get from screwing you at the cash register. As of late they only seem to care about how much profit they can get out of these movies.
And judging by the looks of TF4 toys, we may get even further screwed.
