Yet Another Alternator Bumblebee

Postby alhaw » Thu Nov 29, 2007 4:11 pm

My first ever kitbash was an attempt at Alt BB but I was never happy enough with it to display it amongst my collection, so I thought I'd do a repaint (with a head resculpt) that would fill that hole in my display.

can you shoot a picture where his torso and head are turned around to replicate the G1 Look of the roof being his chest?

Very nice, the paint is very clean, and I really like the head re-sculpt. Bumblebee has a bit more maturity, and the head design is different enough to be fresh, yet still recognizable. Well done.

I have to also say that the paint apps are very smooth and look factory applied. Very nice and generally not too easy to do with yellow. The head sculpt also came out very well done.

Awesome job!

You know that's not really possible right? He would have to remove the hood piece that rests behind his head now, and move the windshield down. Otherwise the head will be completely obscured. It's a nice idea though.

The subaru´s (Smokescreen, later bluestreak.) but Jazz was a heavy retool of those,so you're not far off.

Uh .. what?

The Subaru WRC mold was done for Smokescreen and slightly tweaked (different front bumper, removed the bolts from the hood & removed the thingy from the roof) for Blue/Silverstreak -- which was then repainted in the US to Ricochet.

Jazz was a Mazda RX8 - which was then tweaked slightly to Shockblast. http://tfu.info/2004/Autobot/AltMeister/meister.htm

Nonetheless, I agree with all the rest. Fantastic paint job, alhaw!

The Mazda mold was a reshell of the Subaru mold.

If by 'reshelled' you mean 'redesigned completely', then sure. =)

Albeit the design/transformation style are similar, there is nothing sharing the same mechanics/engineering.

I know a lot of alteration was done, but The mold is still altered from the subaru mold.

Long story short:confusing them is understandable, even though they are very different when seeing them next to each other.

How did you re-shape the head? I would just look at the tut on transtopia but i cant seem to access it.
