How do I know that I'm getting old?

-My first video game system was the Atari 2600....when that was the current gen system.

-I was in the final years of elementary school & high school when hair metal was huge.

-I remember when Marvin Gaye was shot & killed.

-My hair skipped going grey and started going straight platinum blonde/white.

-I used to not answer when people said "Sir" & when someone called me "Mr. Cummings" my stock reply was "Don't do that, that's my father.". Now I don't bat an eye at either.

-I remember when the symbols & meant nothing.

-Screw iPhones, X-Box One's, Playstation 4's, and the internet being the big playthings for kids, I played outside, riding either my bike or a Green Machine. And if I played inside, my toys were Megos, Legos(pre-comeback boom), Colorforms, Shogun Warriors, Rom, View Masters, Etch-A-Sketches, the original Kenner Star Wars toys and the like.

-I remember watching shows like The Love Boat, M.A.S.H., Fantasy Island, The Cosby Show, Charlie's Angels, Three's Company, Voltron, Romper Room, Robotech, Knight Rider, The Dukes of Hazzard, and C.H.I.P.S......when they first aired.

-I still know all the words to most of the Schoolhouse Rock songs. Heck, I still remember Schoolhouse Rock.

-I remember when Cable TV was born. Heck, in my city when cable first hit, it was only on 1 channel, and that channel was still regular regional access TV until 7:30 PM, and that's when it became cable TV.

-I remember when TV stations signed off for the night.

-I've seen every Star Wars film in the theaters, with only A New Hope not being it's theatrical debut(it was during it's re-release before TESB that I saw that one).

-The cartoons of my youth: Transformers, Wacky Races, The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, Battle of the Planets, Jem & The Holograms, Jabberjaw, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Star Blazers, Tom & Jerry, Mighty Orbots, The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, Speed Buggy, Shirt Tales, Superfriends, Captain N The Games Master, Prostars, Inhumanoids.....dang I'm old.

Everyone remembers Schoolhouse Rock. It helps that they re-aired it in the '90s.
