3 new listings for Classics Legion Line: Ultra Magnus, Skywarp and Cliffjumper

A white Prime? Red Bumblebee? Black Starscream? Gimme! Hopefully they'll appear just before I leave for the U.S.....

Skywarp...finally.

But I thought they were coming out with a Skywarp repaint of the larger Legends Starscream.

Let's see, I have the original Prime, Motorbreath, and a clear one released for AOE; looks like I'll be getting a white one now. If Skywarp comes with the null rays I just might be inclined to pick up a Starscream so I have a proper set.

They are. These are different lines for different markets, why can't they each get a skywarp?

So sick of seeing these characters over and over again... would rather have those slots given to characters that could use the update.

Why would you consider these updates? These are 5 year old molds marketed at dollar store chains in the states. They probably wont see a mass retail release at big box stores as was the case with the previous releases.

I wonder if there will be a way to jam that (hypothetical) Ultra Magnus into the Leader UM. That's got to be the best option, right? I mean, totally ridiculous to have a white semi-truck inside another white semi-truck... but doable.

This minor retool stems from the 2012 single release, and is easily missed. The pegs are located in the arms where the elbow would be, and are for locking the Vehicle Mode together better. Works too well if you ask me, once I transform him the arms won't unpeg anymore.

Saw the original character versions of these shelfwarming at Big Lots about a month ago. I think they had the Bee with the black symbol, but really didn't pay much attention since I already had some version (or two) of each.

A fellow TF fan hurricane567, on the TFW boards, found the recently listed Generations Legions Ultra Magnus and Skywarp at Fred's in south Louisianna. He also took pictures to show us fans the deco. As predicted Ultra Magnus and Skywarp are based on their RTS Molds. Generations Legion Skywarp is not to be confused with Generations Legends Skywarp which also comes out this year and is a slightly bigger size, more akin to that of a scout class figure.

I thought Skywarp was Dirge for a second, until I realized that I was looking at both his head and his back simultaneously rather than separating the two.
Hopefully when I have a chance to buy these, the paint won't wear easily as some of my recently bought figures.

I like that UM's wheels are white.

Yeah it came in that G2 themed generations box set with the blue hero prime.

it was retooled a little to have null rays as well as the built in weapons

There was also one that came out with that short run of Generasians repaints that were TRU exclusives. That's the one I've got. I'm sure it's the same as the one that came in whatever multipack the others are referring to.

Come one man, its not even something you'll find at toysrus. These are made for a different market like Fred's (whatever that store is, I never heard of it). Its a lower priced official transformers toy for a parents who want an inexpensive toy for their kids. I just posted it because I thought fans would like to know these are out there because they do go along with a scale we have other toys of. And also because these wouldnt be found at the usual places.

Actually I was talking about the backer card art showing a fully armored Ultra Magnus in the "Albino Prime" white and light blue colors. Now I kinda want to see Leader Magnus in those colors.

That Skywarp looks good but I'd have to get one of those retooled Starscreams just so all three seekers match.

If by match you mean includes holes in the wings I'm not all that sure why you'd want that. I'm pretty certain they stopped including the rays even thought they continue to use the altered molds. The most recent release of Starscream didn't include them and Prime didn't come with the sword even though for a short time he did. By the looks of it neither Magnus nor SW include the extra weapons.

BTW, for anyone looking the usual places are Family Dollar and Big Lots. I think some drug stores (CVS? Walgreens? Rite Aid?) get them, too.

I was just about to point out that little oddity , but agreed, it does actually look pretty darn sweet.
As does skywarp, actually. If I see them I may well have to get these two and dig out my RTS classic legends figures.

On the flipside, I find the fact we were able to call the molds used a bit worrisome: nothing can surprise us anymore

If you guys have any spare 3mm weapons laying around, use them: Magnus and Skywarp use the tweaked molds with the 3mm holes.

Was motormaster a tweaked version of the rts optimus mold?

Also, while people might scoff at this line, the RTS megatron is probably the most G1 accurate Megatron toy we ever got.

Yup, in fact the so-called "GDO series" was the source of all the retooling done thanks to the extra weapons (sword for Prime, Null-Rays for Starscream, blasters for Hoist and Prowl). The retoolings carried over into the second run of 2012 re-release of Prime and Starscream (with weapons included) and the 2014 releases (without weapons).

See, I wasn't planning on getting the Leader Ultra Magnus (did I need another Magnus), but like other people, I'm thinking of popping that little one in and out and now I have to get both.

....and an hour before this post was found, I posted in-hand pics of these two and Cliffjumper in the Toy sightings forums over here. I did get them for 3.00 apiece, though..
