While the Official Release Date for the Transformers: Animated figures remains set as June 2008 (or later) across the globe, it seems that the Canadians may be able to nab a few Animated figures earlier than expected.

According to a report at Cybertron.ca it would seem that the first Wave of Animated Deluxe figures may be getting shipped in the first week of May.

This information was found in a Canadian Toys R Us stores computers, and the early May release applies only to the Deluxe class figures, all other class figures remain slated for a mid June 2008 release.

Currently, this report is a rumour and cannot be confirmed. The Deluxe figures may still be released in June alongside the other class of figures.

The Canadian prices for the various Transformers: Animated classes has also been found on the same TRU Computer:
TF Animated battle pack- $29.99
TF Animated Deluxe class- $14.99
TF Animated Leader class- $59.99
TF Animated Arm Blaster- $39.99
TF Animated Shift tech game- $29.99
TF Animated Voyager class- $29.99
TF Animated Supreme class- $79.99
TF Animated Activators- $9.99
TF Animated 12" feature figure- $34.99

And the price gouging us Canadians continues.. the Canadian dollar has been within a few cents of par with the American dollar for almost a year now and we're still paying 50% more than the US for TFs..

After getting home heating oil and gas for the car so I can go to work, there isn't much money for TFs anyway these days.. but it's almost summer and I got a raise, so there's hope yet.

Sadly, them seem accurate enough, they're the same pricing as the movie toys.

TRU pricing is so out to lunch. Case in point: Ultimate TFM BB is $109.99 at TRU and $89.92 at the Walmart a few stores down. Where would you buy it? The Leader Class price has come down from $69.99 to $59.99 but that is still not close to the $39.99 the US enjoys. We continue to get screwed everywhere though on the Deluxes. TRU @ $14.99 and Walmart @ $14.92. No win situation there IMHO.

The $CDN remains strong and the last time that I complained to TRU Corporate they magically had a sale on on the Leaders and brought them down to $49.99 CDN. They give all kinds of lame reasons why the pricing is what it is from the tri-lingual packaging costs to 10 times smaller market share in CANADA vs the US based population to higher wages in CANADA. All a bunch of baloney. Fact is that CDN retailers should be forcing manufacturers to give them a better price point that reflects the stronger $CDN and all those reasons will simply be solved. Retailers need to grow some balls in other words.

Looks like I will have to complain again to TRU Corporate.

Down south also.

Mexican Walmarts get deluxes at about $19USD which is US voyager price. voyagers are around 27 or 30 USD. And so on.

I'm fine with Deluxes getting released first, they're cheaper. I wish Voyagers didn't cost so much, the price is way too high for what's really just a glorified Deluxe...

I agree - good for Canada. Maybe some places should get perks compared to others.

It's not like there won't be enough to go around...

I was one of the lucky few to snag the deluxe figures that showed up in Hamilton. I'm itching for more animated figures, so I hope they get here as soon as possible.
