As popular as the Constructicons are, all of them are left in the dust considering the number of figures they have. Onslaught my be second in the number of figures.
Ooh, now I'm tempted to go looking at how many toys each G1 combiner member has had.

Aaaaaand the temptation wins out (but I'll limit it to just the 1985-1988 combiners):

Scavenger - 8 toys
Scrapper - 8 toys
Hook - 7 toys

Mixmaster - 7 toys

Wildrider - 2 toys
Drag Strip - 3 toys
Motormaster - 3 toys (4 if you want to count the unreleased Universe redeco of Thunder Clash)

Are you counting molds that just used the name but aren't meant to be the original character?

I counted only the toys that were meant to be the Primax versions of the characters, official repurposes, and redecoes/remolds of certain molds.

I really like how Alpha Bravo's rockets are his fore arms in bot mode.

Again that's why I really hope Bruticus isn't in this series. I mean they could do an botcon exclusive of him if they really must.

Guessing it will be near the toy fair before we see what's in the future waves.

Doesnt any1 notice that the combiner hand/foot is engineered so it can have both purpose?
I noticed it many moons ago, but thought others might have brought it up already...
but lately when i read the comment of many peepz let me suspect otherwise...

study them closely u will see what i mean:
1.the palm fold back, which forms the base of the heel
2.the thumbs folds, which become the heel itself
3.the 4fingers fold into the flatfoor cavity

One of my favourite things about this line is the return of the peg-chests.
They possibly could have engineered them to integrate or hide the combiner pegs into the two modes - have the chest open up, fold out the peg and then close the chest up, for example. But the retro-yet-modern interpretation of the peg-chests - that everyone is going to have, due to their interchangeability - cranks up the awesome for me.

I honestly thought that was common knowledge, otherwise would've mentioned it.

It was common knowledge, as was the fact that the connector piece is along their torso. And since it's scramble city style and everyone can be an arm or a leg, it only makes sense that the accessory serves a double purpose. Actually, it's a triple purpose since it can also be used as a weapon.

I know some people are complaining that they look a little goofy in bot mode, and the transformations are simplistic, but considering these facts, each limb bot has a total of 4 modes. on a deluxe class sized figure and price point. Arm, Leg, Bot & Alt.

It took them 2 years of QC to get Voyager Triple Changers (close to) perfect.

It's surprising they look half as good as they do.

I just wish the Knuckle guns where removable/hidden in hand mode.

Totally agree with you on the talk of value. We can just look at the 3rd parties to see how much we are saving (and saved on Springer!). However, I dont mind the knuckle guns there, they remind me a lot of G1 predaking.

Image

Oh wait, even though he was never a scramble city, could those gestalt hands be an indication that Predaking is the other Decepticon combiner in that line? There is still hope!

I love the thought of a new scramble city style predaking (imagine if he was the titan rumour) but I'm not hopeful, what I am hopeful for is for new combiners to take the stage.

Oh and Monstructor to finally get the respect he deserves.

I still think G1 Predaking still looks awesome, even beside new generations stuff. Not as much need for a remake with him as the other old G1 combiners don't look as well now. I would love a Monstuctor though, so much.
