The new toys shown off include AOTP Alchemist Prime and Onyx Prime of the Thirteen - Alchemist transforms into an off-road vehicle while Onyx is shown as a triple-changer with robot, beast and centaur modes.
We also got good looks at a number of other toys from the AOTP line, including the Combaticon Vortex, Decepticon Crasher, red Excellion, Cybertron Sideways and the Carnivac / Fisitron two-pack.
The Studio Series line revealed the new Perceptor with Ramhorn and Ratbat, along with the Seeker (Dirge/conehead) and Soldier (Runamuck/Runabout) Decepticon generics from TF:Devastation.
The Hearts of Steel lineup got another showing with Megatron / Bumblebee alongside the already available Optimus / Starscream.
Also: Bruticus box art, from Vortex's packaging.

Alchemist Prime also looks beefy and cool, I like the alt mode too
Vortex looks really good and chonky I love it. Helicopter mode looks cool and robot mode is awesome, can't wait to see the others
Ironfist looks good, I like the alt mode. I wish the pictures got a better angle of him and Carnivac but im definitely picking them up
Sideways is cool, not attached enough to character to pick it up but looks like a pretty cool figure
I really like that ramhorn. Looks so cool. But idk if cool enough to justify double dipping on ratbat and perceptor
Posted by Sowndwave76 on March 1st, 2025 @ 9:10pm CST
Ratbat looks solid, and even Ramhorn looks alright.
Vortex looks incredible, and as much as I wanted to like UW Bruticus, it just wasn't a great combiner. Even with a couple upgrade kits it didn't quite deliver. Now there's for sure something to look forward to next year.
Onyx has my attention... Is he a 4th quarter release? If so, he'll be very tempting. But any sooner than that and there are other figures that will have my focus (and money).
Beyond that, looks like I'm passing on a lot.
Posted by -Kanrabat- on March 1st, 2025 @ 9:57pm CST
Alchemist Prime is the first one of the Primes that I really, really want. It's the mustache.
I don't need another Perceptor, but I need the casettes...
Also, it seems that Ground Soldier is a repaint/retool from Runabout/Runamock. That set is an easy skip.

the devastation 2-pack also great, can’t have enough seekers.
Excellion, somehow you will be mine.
And my boy, Noisemaze also a fabulous update.
Posted by Nemesis Primal on March 2nd, 2025 @ 2:56am CST
Sideways Noisemaze and Onyx look perfect, no notes. I've definitely come around to these Onyx colors as opposed to the blue I was expecting now that we're seeing the actual figure, and I'm real happy Noisemaze is seemingly another completely new mold out of nowhere, it was basically the only way to do him justice. Zero clue what Onyx's crazy winged six-legged hooved gargoyle-thing mode is supposed to actually be, so for now I will call him a Honse.
Already have Crasher, hope the repack helps those who don't.
Excellion's colors don't actually look as good to me as I expected on this mold? I can't place why, but I think I'll be skipping him.
Ironfist Fisitron looks really good, love his IDW colors and I'm very curious to see if his whole Lightformer cannon can detach from his back or if it's just the main barrel, although I am surprised to see they used the Earth mode tooling as his base and not the Siege one. Carnivac, on the other hand....sure is also included, wish he got as much IDW sauce in his design as his versus partner.
Still not 100% sold on Alchemist being green, but I like what I see otherwise, he can come hang out.

Interesting that they did toon shaded windows on the two Devastation guys, but not on the Deluxe Optimus Prime.
Didn't feel like starting a new topic, but the first look at the SDCC Void Rivals set is up featuring Siege Jetfire.

Vortex looks alright as well, though a bit choppy. Not being into Bruticus all that much the Combaticons don't really show up on my list of wants. I might have considered getting them if they weren't coming in the exact same year as Devestator and Superion. I'm already tapped out on Combiners for the year...
Onyx is definitely different and that makes him a tad more interesting but I feel like he's too different for me. And being that it's not a character I follow or need it's an easy pass. Ratbat and Ramhorn coming with Perceptor has always bugged me, the line doesn't need another release of him this soon for starters. Ramhorn specifically looks almost as bad if not worse than Steeljaw, IMO, so that's why this immediately became a total pass. I was torn on Steeljaw but that was only a $12 risk, I sure as heck not paying almost $40 for a bot I already have just to get it. I'm also not a big fan of Ratbat so that's not an incentive either.
I think I'll just try to hunt down the Masterpiece or 3rd party versions for both Steeljaw and Ramhorn, and probably Ravage too if this is any indication of what a new one would look like.

Alchemist looks more like Prime Bulkhead than the legacy Prime Bulkhead. Now give us the cyberverse new head repaint.
Vortex looks really good. I am tempted by him, but I will wait for a G2 version.
I have Crasher, glad others can get her now too.
Ironfist looks great, Carnivac a bit of a disappointment so far.
I am so annoyed that I will need to buy that Jetfire again for the Void Rivals characters.
the SS86 and Devastation guys are a pass

Thank you, yes, this, I was just going to say this. Though the abs looks more like Animated's grill abs.
Still give me a bulkhead head and I'm all over this mold.
Interesting the Studio Series Devastation 2-pack gets 2 brand new Primal styled swords (not Kingdom's) for the Elite Seeker and a small sword for the car drone.
Sad Excellion and Noisemaze are Walmart exclusives. Will make it hard for those not in the US to get them.

Hard saying since they haven't come up with a specific lore yet for this line and everything we think we know about any of them comes from a bunch of different iterations. He likes his alcohol, for all we know his weapon is literal beer goggles.

The CW version of Bruticus was OK, but in the end it was really just remolds of the Protectobots. And that's not good enough in the end - the Combaticons and Bruticus need original molds/figures.
Here's hoping they don't do to Brawl what they did in CW, with that horrible floppy waist/hinge....

The decision was made as we learned later, due to CW being on such a strict budget. That's why most of the Voyagers were a retool of Silverbolt and there were really only 4 unique limb molds.

Also, its so weird seeing Excellion referred to as a legend of Cybertron feels so bizarre given that the character never appeared in the cartoon or its comics, and his only appearance in any media is a text-only story from Timelines

It might be a subtle wink to the old "Legends of Cybertron" Hot Shot toy, specifically the red version that used Excellion's deco but was inexplicably still named "Hot Shot" instead, as though referring to him as such now is trying to make up for that little goof and finally give him his due respect.#1 Signal Lancer fan wrote:william-james88 wrote:Sideways – The mysterious descendent of Liege Maximo

Scale is out the window with the Combaticons anyway.
Even if they make Blast Off a Jet, it's still widely out of scale with a Tank, a Jeep and a Helicopter regardless.
Just let him be a totally off scale Shuttle and we'll be fine.

Whoa, that's a deep reference.
You're likely right, though, as I think that's too specific to be coincidental.
