Better Look at Studio Series 86 Wheelie

Thanks to screencaps from Baidu of a yet to be seen 360 video, we now have a much better look at Studio Series 86 Wheelie and, well, you'll be the judge. Here we get to see Wheelie from all angles, and while he may look good from the front, we do see a butt flap at the sides and the robot hands are not hidden in alt mode. We have photos of the Titan Return toy below for you to compare to. It is interesting that Wheelie, of all characters, get two totally different attempts at G1 accurate toys in the recent past while all leader/voyager Optimus Primes are based on the same mold for the past four Generations toylines.

Yup, Wheelie ended up with quite the booty.

I don't think it's too bad for the price point :-? Can't see if there's pegs there in the legs for Grimlock Cross compatability.

TR Wheelie does still seem to be the better mold overall but last I looked online was a little pricey

86 Wheelie looks like it might scale a little better (looks smaller) and the robot mode proportions look better here than in the pic from before. The first pic we saw there looked like a lot of separation between torso and limbs and everything looked spindly and lanky and kinda thrown together. This looks nice enough, I'll be happy with it

I'm disappointed that as with SS86 Hot Rod, the fidelity to bot mode means the alt mode has obvious, visible bot parts. Here it's not just the back but also the front, which is very unfortunate. But as others mentioned, it's limited by the class, and it's achieving what it set out to do, so I'll definitely pick it up. I'll be holding onto the TR version for sure.

I can't see if there's pegs on the legs either, doesn't look like there are. Maybe that badonkadonk hoochie daddy butt flap has a little poker to put in the no-no hole on grimlock's/slug's shoulders

That SS86 Wheelie may not be perfect, but I bet it will be much more enjoyable to handle than the previous TR Legends.

Sticking with the TT Legends figure for sure. Nothing about that figur looks appealing. I could settle with the wonky alt mode if the bot mode looked good but it doesn't even have that going for it. Maybe with a good discount but definitely not at full price.

The only thing going for it is a slingshot.

I'll get him for display only. The TR one IMHO looks better in both forms.

This looks more like a Legion class toy than a Core class. They could have saved money on molding and just re-released the TR mold with new colors, maybe throw in a slingshot for good measure.

Aww. When I heard he had visible hand syndrome I was hoping for some goatse WFC Jazz action. Guess I'll stick with TR Wheelie.

Never liked Wheelie much, the annoying little twerp! I have the TR version, which is light and floppy (they had to make him hollow so a Titan Master could park it in his belly). Don't think I'll go out of my way on this one. If I see one? Maybe. But why would anyone want to listen to his simpering, whiny little voice?

It's the Wheelie we deserve. It got the '86 Movie look in the front for the G1 fans, and got the 21st century aesthetic update twerk-loving new fans are asking for for the side- & rear views. The BEST of both worlds I tell ya! Satisfying generations of fans, he's the Great Unificator!

Sticking to TR. It was not well executed (tabbing issues), but I love its concept & play value. Its different intrepretation of Wheelie make me forget the movie character's voice in my head too, that's a bonus.

Really not a lot of love for Wheelie here I've seen

Don't get me wrong not my favorite character but I always somewhat liked him. Maybe it's nostalgia from watching the movie so much as a kid. Maybe its because I don't get annoyed as easily, I don't hate Jar Jar binks either so there's that lol

Wheelie did nothing wrong, justice for Wheelie. Don't worry little guy, you can find a friend by looking behind, I got your back.

Well said! Wheelie led dinobots to kup and hot rod -> dinobots save them -> hot rod becomes rodimus Prime and uses the matrix to defeat unicron (spoiler alert) -> Wheelie saved the transformers

Though, none of which would have happened if the Decepticons hadn't shot down their shuttle to crash-land on Quintessa.

Galvatron saved the Transformers. ;)

I personally like the TR version more (I enjoy the more "toyetic" look and the ability to store Titan/Prime Masters, plus the colours pop more to me), but I don't think this is bad at all for a lil to-scale Wheelie. It even comes with the slingshot accessory which is also neat.
Perhaps one could get the TR version for their toy-accurate(ish) collection and this one for their show/movie-accurate(ish) collection...if that's your kinda thing.
