Definitely calling Drag Strip from Lockdown, then.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Axel

That's interesting. Plus Axor is a remold of Lockdown in whatever the current line is.

But just to play this all out ....

Animated has the following unique car molds (not counting repaints/remolds):
Arcee
Blurr
Bumblebee (Deluxe and Hydrodrive)
Ratchet
Jazz (Already used)
Lockdown
Optimus (Deluxe, voyager and Cybertron)
Rodimus
Sentinel Prime
Soundwave
Swindle
Ultra Magnus
Wreck-gar

If we assume they will make all 5 stunticons, the Jazz mold is accounted for and Motormaster will be a Prime remold. Cut out other trucks, that leaves us with :
Arcee
Blurr
Bumblebee (Deluxe and Hydrodrive)
Lockdown
Rodimus
Soundwave
Swindle

If we then say Bee is too small to make a good stunticon, Arcee is too feminine a mold, and lump in swindle with the trucks we are left with:
Blurr
Lockdown
Rodimus
Soundwave

My guess is the last stunticons will be made from Blurr, Lockdown & Rodimus.
And to add to the guessing, I'll say:
Rodimus = Wildrider (since it has been done before)
Blurr = Brakedown (because another yellow repaint of Blurr would be silly)
Lockdown = Dragstrip (OK, I don't like this, he would make a better Brakedown)

Ok, those last 2 could go either way, but I would NOT buy the cheetor repaint if they make Blurr into Dragstrip.

So guessing the next announcement will be a Lockdown repaint is a pretty safe bet.

So what does Axel Foley have to do with this toy? The Bob Seger song they used in Beverly Hills Cop was "Shakedown".

That's one of the worst takes on a character I have seen out of modern BotCon stuff.

Not feeling that at all.

Wow.

It's a nice repaint/re-heading, and a very Animated re-heading at that, but just not my cup of tea.

The big question now is, how much of my trip to Cali could I cover if I sold this set and the exclusive sets :-? .

Oh. I thought we were getting a hint as to who was going to re-painted. That seems like the real reveal, not which of the Stunticons would be released next. I mean, there are only five of them, but endless repaint possibilities.
Re: BotCon 2011 Animated Breakdown Unveiled (1177246)

I guess "Tom Petty" would've been too obvious, since he actually did Breakdown's theme song. The chorus repetition of, "Breakdown, it's all right...it's all right...it's all right" was clearly meant to comfort the Stunticons' resident paranoid-schizophrenic and reassure him that the traffic lights weren't watching him.

Any chance they'll make the most of the new head sculpt and exclusive Roddy body and do a G2 colors animated Breakdown as the attendee figure?

Since I don't have Hot Rod, but really liked the look of the mold, I'm sorely tempted by this. Will have to wait till it's in my hands to decide if it's a keeper though... :9

edit: typos :(

I used to love Beverly Hills Cop 2 when I was growing up and one of the songs that I can remember most from its soundtrack was a song called "Breakdown", cant remember who it was by though.
Re: BotCon 2011 Animated Breakdown Unveiled (1177252)

"Breakdown" was the name of one of the main songs on the soundtrack of Beverly Hills Cop 2

Look nice. Though the blue engine and exhaust pipes do look strange. Perhaps making them silver would have worked better.

That leaves Dragstrip and Wildrider. I'd say Dragstrip is Lockdown, and Wildrider is Blurr.

I'm still hoping Motormaster is made from Ultra Magnus, but that seems unlikely.
Re: BotCon 2011 Animated Breakdown Unveiled (1177254)

BotCon and Club figures, when retooled, only have new heads. BotCon 2007 Thrust was an exception, he got new wings.

To follow up on my previous post, I bring you the unofficial BotCon 2004 Action Master Breakdown.

Guess we can all guess that who's gonna be MotorMaster. That's probably gonna be Optimus.

Then there's also Probably gonna be a Blurr re-deco

Maybe even Lockdown's (should be without the hand-attachment)

We already have Jazz's (Dead-End)
And Rodimus's (Breakdown)

So, what do you think are the odds?

Don't forget that they could re-use a vehicle for one or more of the Stunticons... with a new head and paint job. Mind you, they don't usually do that within a boxed set, but it could happen.

Mmmmmm.... Marauder Megatron....

Hm, I thought for sure the Rodimus mold was gonna be Wildrider. Kinda iffy on the color scheme though, I guess I just really wanted that mold in Wildrider colors. It looks allright though, Dead End still looks the best.

This is my guess as to witch ones they will be: prime = motormaster, soundwave = wildrider, blur = dragstrip, so that is my theory.

OK, so THAT was wrong. #-o
But I'm sticking to my guess on which molds get used.

I still doubt that they'll use Blurr for Dragstrip (though I would prefer it) so I guess Blurr will be Wildrider. That would look good, but Lockdown as Dragstrip, doesn't seem to fit. :-?

They get a point for not making Wildrider the Rodimus mold just because that's what Takara did for Henkei. And also now we know one of the few remolded heads.

Or Ultra Magnus. Or Bulkhead (who I'm surprised no one has even considered yet). Heck, if you use Leader Bulkhead, you can even retool Headmaster to look like Menasor...

Personally, I'm hoping they go outside of the box and give us some out-of-left-field character choices... specifically, Arcee. It's a nice little mold, and I could easily see her as the team's resident braggart or semi-psychotic.

Also, while I can see the "crash test registration mark" look in the Stunticon logo, to me, it looked like a spin on the BMW logo. I guess it works both ways... sleek and stylish sports cars, who like to crash? ;)

And if, then which? 'Cause I haven't heard of it.

Wow... that's... well... lame.

Outside of being yellow and purple and having a spoiler there's really no similarity to G1 Dragstrip. I wouldn't even qualify it as an homage, let alone a recreation. Plus the colors just look bad on that mold.

Also, I'm wondering whether I should think it's funny or offensive that they dressed a male transformer up as a female transformer and named it "Dragstrip".
