Start your engines! Botcon 2011 Registration is now online! Be prepared to wait as their site is running a bit on the slow side, but registration is officially active and online.

Iacon packages are also available! Great news for those of you who can't attend but plan on purchasing the non-attendee Iacon package. Last year the non-attendee registration didn't come online until several weeks after the initial registration. Not this year! Get em' while they're hot!

From what I hear and see, registration is still bungled up a bit.

Unfortunately, I cannot make it this year.... I was hoping to meet some of the faces behind the usernames. I hope everyone who can go DOES, and has an awesome time! I can tell you, my absolute best friend I met waiting in the long (and totally hysterical) lines! Don't let the box set keep you from going if you can.

Just checked my bank account...ouch. For some reason I thought the Mini-con package was available to everyone, as a simple 'entry-but-no-figures-or-big-benefits' package. Seems that's terribly wrong! And 180USD is the minimum :/

I do have the money...But I'd rather buy the DOTM set, and work on my generations, and G1 sets.

Im gonna sleep on it.

I wanna hit that button but then I just keep thinking ANIMATED...IS IT WORTH $1500 ???

Pros:

1. I own the original Stunticons so owning a homage set would be really cool.

2. A chance to cop some of the classics figures I missed from the 2006-2007 line.

3. A chance to hang with the Seibertron.com homies.

Cons :

1. ANIMATED !!!

The money is there but the interest is not. I own 13 animated figures. I bought most of them because they are homages to favorite G1 characters, Nothing more. I have owned all 3 seasons of Animated that I got hold of a year ago and have yet to watch. Maybe Im not giving Animated a fair chance. But I just cant seem to get a taste for it. (or Transformers Prime) Will somebody please give me a shining reason to make the trip ???

Bah, I really want to be there for the screening.

If any of you want to fill in the gaps in your animated collection, I've just listed every Hasbro Deluxe, Voyager and Leader for sale.

Dude, first question: Have you ever been? The answer is almost certainly no. The reason for saying this is that NO ONE I have ever talked to that has been to Botcon, has not wanted to go back. NO ONE. There is a reason for that. If you have been, and are not eager to go back, then you did not get the most out of the trip.

Second question: You got the money? You do? Then why not? You got another, bigger, better Transformers convention to go to with better exclusives? No ofcourse you don't. Shining reason: IT'S BOTCON YOU MONKEY! :D

Got my Iacon packages registered! If anyone that is going wants to pick up 2 of everything for me, I'd gladly pay you handsomely for them!

Out of curiosity, would you guys come up here to the Pacific Northwest if the con was held here in Seattle? We have a great convention center here for botcon size conventions, plenty of hotels, and those fish throwing fellows at Pike Place market! Fun for the whole family!

I spent more time in rooms buying figures. I also quit drinking a few years ago. Plus, I used to live in Orlando, so we went to the clubs. The friends I made and the people I met more than compensated for the G2 box set, which ofcourse I bought, but it was more the icing on the cake. I mean dude G2? You went for that but not Animated? Really? My point is: How much did the box set really sell you on the experience last year? Is 5 toys really a deal breaker? And for the last time: REALLY?

Think another thread might be necessary for that?

Sadly I can't go this year, but If any Animated haters that are going want to get rid of their attendee figures I'll gladly buy them.

I was planning on going for the first time, but the car, water heater and furnace all conspired against me to wipe out my funds :-(

I did, however, pick up the Iacon package, so I'm good for the Stunticons!

So, at least there is that :)

oboy, oboy, oboy, oboy, oboy, oboy! Iacon set will be mine!

I wonder how much of my glee is simply being starved for more Animated stories...

Does anyone know if the BTS trailer is actually compatible with the Animated Voyager Prime mold (it SAYS it does, but all the images only show the deluxe version)? I'm going to feel awfully silly I paid so much for the shattered glass version and it doesn't even fit.

BotCon just sent out the following e-mail update regarding the registration that went online yesterday afternoon.

As we near the first 24 hours of registration here is your update:

We have now installed a new feature so that you can purchase Hall of Fame Event tickets, Tours and Souvenirs (or additional Souvenirs).

Instructions:

1. Go to BotCon.com and click on the registration button. Then click on register now. Then click on use online registration system.

2. Log in with your club log in and start your registration. Choose Registrant, click continue. Then choose Attending -yes or no. If you need multiple tickets for the HOF event, tell the system you are registering that many people (ie. 2 if you need 2). Put the names of the people, ages and screen names, and phone on the next screen and continue.

3. On the package page pick <XXXX No Choice - Use for adding tours, souvenirs...>. This will get you past this screen.

4. Then select the Tours, Souvenirs, or HOF event tickets you need and check out! The $6 fee will not show up on your final invoice.

###

Also, please note for the hats and T-Shirts, click the check box and wait until the box shows qty of one. Then you can change the qty from 1-10.

###

We are sold out of the loose sets, however, as we go through some of the duplicate invoices, some may come back into inventory as those invoices are deleted. Please do not ask us to hold these for you as we cannot. There are no duplicate invoices with classes on them. Both classes are sold out as well.

###

We have turned the phones off in order to prepare for GIJoeCon which is next week at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.

If you have any questions, please use the links provided at BotCon.com or TransformersClub.com and we will try to get to as many as possible. We are extremely busy right now.

Haha, couldn't take it huh? What had you convinced?

Well I am really excited for the HoF awards, even though I missed Cullen's induction. I would of gone to Botcon 2010 but only for the 1st annual HoF. Glad I didnt go, with the G2 set they had really didnt look that good, plus Orlando was a plane ride compared to a long drive to Pasadena.

Hope you weren't procrastinating if you had planned on purchasing a non-attendee Iacon package for this year's Botcon 2011. They're already sold out! BotCon issued the following tweet about an hour ago:

Iacon packages sold out. Plz do not register as Primus and then ask to switch over to non-attending. Those will be cancelled...

Here's your latest BotCon 2011 update. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Animated Stunticons sold out at a record setting pace! All toy packages are sold out! The following email was just sent out by BotCon:

BotCon Primus and Iacon and loose packages are now all sold out!

That's right, it took just a little over 5 days for all of the toy packages to be gone!

If you tried to place an order before today and your order went to our incomplete file, no worries as we have pulled enough sets to cover all of the incompletes. If we have any sets left after we work the incompletes, we will put them back into inventory. We will let you know if this happens, and it won't be for a couple of weeks. There will not be anymore Iacon (non-attending sets).

Also, we will not be keeping a waiting list.

Please note that we are in the middle of GIJoeCon in Florida so we won't be working the incomplete files until after April 9.

We know who you are and we will follow back up with you then. Please be patient.

We still have Protoform packages available.

We look forward to seeing you in Pasadena in a couple of months!

Stay tuned for upcoming guest information!

Sorry man, I won't be making it out to Botcon this year. A bunch of circumstances arose and I'll be sitting this year out. But I will be back next year, when I hope it's not an animated set.
Re: BotCon 2011 Registration Now Online! (1201263)
Posted by Seibertron on March 28th, 2011 @ 12:31pm CDT
Wow. I might just have to eat my words about this. I personally love Animated, but I would've thought this was a poor business decision all around, especially considering that Hasbro seemed to have canceled the line early, the cartoon was canceled (or not renewed -- take your pick), and how the toys themselves seemed to be quite the pegsitters (I'm pretty sure you can still find this at most TRUs still in limited quantities). I've been a big defender of it since day 2 (remember that horrible first pic of Optimus that got leaked ... yeah, I was pretty expressive about disliking that), but I would never have thought doing Animated at BotCon would've been a good choice.

So here we are less than one week after Registration went live, and the sets are all sold out. I think this is the fastest sell out ever. Congrats to BotCon. That's pretty amazing.

I think the whole Animated hate is more a case of a vocal minority. Most(if not all) TF fans I know that don't frequent forums loved it, but it seems to get a big negative rap from select groups online.

So excited I was able to get my Primus set(ordered as soon as I got my Club e-mail). I'm so hyped, this will be my first Botcon, and I love that it's Animated. I still kick myself for not buying Animated figures when they were out en masse(for some odd reason, I thought that game stuff was more worth spending my money on at that time, because I'm CRAZY).

Botcon toys selling out should be taken as a sign that many of you (I'm not naming names) need to finish watching Animated. At 39 episodes, which go quickly, the show is leagues above anything that came after Beast Machines. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. By not watching, you are depriving yourself of one the most satisfying story lines in Transformers fiction.

Here, let me help you start at the beginning. The rest is up to you.

I didn't go that far. But I will say that as far as BotCon, exclusives, and what we had been told previously; the rules have changed (or where never there to begin with).

Oh yeah, the rules have changed for sure.

I'm referring more to people (or certain known trolls) who claimed there will be massive upheavals and fandomwide dismissal of Botcon and all its exclusives, promptly leading to Fun Publications shutting down and ending Botcon forever.

The fact that that Animated is one of the quickest selling sets proves once again that Ruined Forever is a bunch of malarkey.

Brian at the Transformers Collectors Club sent out a Botcon and TCC update email. The email contains information for dealers, registration problems, tickets for the HOF event, when preorders for Transtech Cheetor and G2 Ramjet go up, and when Side Burn hips.

For those of you who are planning on being a dealer at BotCon, the early multiple booth discount expires at 5pm on Friday April 15th. To register, go to BotCon.com and click on the registration button.

We are still working on the problem registrations, but we are almost finished, so if you have received an email or phone call from customer service, please respond quickly so that we can tell how many packages we may have left. I will send out another email when we know if anything more will be available.

Meanwhile, you can still order your HOF Event tickets. The tickets are limited so don't wait too long to sign up! You can add this to your package by going back to BotCon.com, click the register button and put in how many people you are registering for and when you get to the package page, select the XXXX bypass and this will defeat the $6 processing fee. You can also use this to add T-shirts and tours to your package as well. In addition, it will help us if you put your original invoice number in the notes field on the page where you put in your address and put the words "this is an addition to order (your original invoice number here)".

In order not to interfere with any religious holidays this month (Passover and Easter) we won't put the pre-orders up for Transtech Cheetor and Ramjet until the last week of the month.

Your FREE Membership Sideburn figures will ship after BotCon.

I hope you are working on your art and Fan Film entries for BotCon! Don't forget to let us know if you are entering these and have your film to us by May 2. That way, we can plan space/time for your entry.

Also, cut-offs for the BotCon tours will be May 2nd as well as we have to finalize the tickets.

If you are planning to come as General Admission, those tickets are only available at the door on the day of your admittance. Please see the General Admission tab at BotCon.com for more details.

If you have any BotCon questions, please read the Information tab at BotCon.com and the FAQs as most answers are there. If you still can't find the answer, send us an email using the link at BotCon.com.

Thanks for your support!

Brian

"Your FREE Membership Sideburn figures will ship after BotCon."

Seeing as how they were selling "Dion" membership packages at the club store booth last year, Why are they not giving Sideburn to the paid members first who attend Botcon ???

They would save tons of money in shipping. Plus it's not fair for the people who paid first get the figure last.

Warning: open your box sets and bags and inspect all figures the night you get them. I chose to do it back in Miami, and got stuck with a "Slice" missing a headlight. I had to pay shipping to mail the bad one back and it took a few weeks to get a replacement. They said they would have hooked me up at the information booth at Botcon if I had just brought it over.

I was planning on doing so anyway(for a different reason), but still thank you for the advice as I'll be mindful to check them over more carefully that night instead of simply playing with them.

Did I say play? I obviously meant admire and cherish and not act like a little kid on the floor of the convention center in front of everyone...

*ahem*

As it's my first time, should I use cash in the Dealer Room or can I depend on my card?

Edit: my 2nd question was answered by a simple read of the Unofficial Botcon Guide.
