Our friends at BotCon dropped to let us know about a couple of additional artist that have been added to the Artist Alley line-up, Josh Perez and Robby Musso! They have also tweeted the info on this year's Cosplay contest.

Cosplayers! Gonna be at BotCon2012? Make sure you go all out cause the best costume as decided by FP staff will get cover shoot 4 Issue 45! The three BEST costumes, as judged throughout the weekend, will be announced via Twitter pic by Sunday at Noon, with the winning costume announced at the 2PM Cosplay panel on Sunday! We'll need some help on deciding the winner, so make sure to comment on the pics when we tweet them out at noon Sunday!

Having seen the reaction to Cullen at past BotCons, I do understand why they are doing the lottery. In 2007, they were supposed to have 2 sessions with him. The first session had such a huge line that they had to shut it down and gave everyone who was still in line at session's end a ticket to the second session. I'm pretty sure the second session was just session 1 overflow. In 2009, he was doing a very limited signing that ran at the exact same time as the Weird Al autograph session, meaning you basically had to pick one or the other. As a result, roughly half the people in his panel didn't have actual questions, it was their way of getting hugs and autographs. In 2011, he wasn't even announced as an official guest prior to the Con and the only way you could get his autograph was by leaving a panel that was showing a yet to be aired TF:Prime cartoon and even then you had to be REALLY fast because the line was again capped very early.

I can also understand why they won't let people transfer their autograph rights, because frankly certain people would be selling them for hundreds of dollars without shame.

Perhaps a good compromise which would maximize the ability for fans to get autographs who truly wanted them would be to allow anyone whose name was drawn to "opt out" of their chance so new names could be chosen. Some of us have met Peter before and would be more than willing to step aside and let our fellow fans get the same chance we had.

This would be a great idea, but I wouldn't hold my breath on them actually taking the time to do this. It makes waaaayyyy too much sense (LOL).

Livio has worked on various Transformers titles for IDW, including "Transformers: Autocracy". Dan Khanna has worked on different Transformers projects for several companies for well over a decade and is the artist behind the "Transformers: Invasion" comic offered this year at BotCon 2012.

Be sure to visit both Livio and Dan at the BotCon 2012 Artist Alley!

The thumbnail you selected for the news story reminded me that we need a Hauler repaint of RTS Solar Storm Grappel.

Great idea! Until that happens though, since his bio says that he can change his colors, one could get both the RtS and United versions and repurpose one of them (perhaps the RtS version) as Hauler. ;)

I think it's hilarious how BotCon is whoring out the artist alley and the artists after the mess about banning artist sales.
