Canadian Sighting for ROTB Flex Changers + Video Reviews

Hasbro literally flipped the script on the idea of one steps in the Transformers Rise of the Beasts line with the idea of "energon bands". It's a different type of transformation where elements of the toy become all loose and reconnect into the alt mode (and vice versa). While a new take on the fast conversion idea, it removes any articulation one steps may have had and adds the need to lock in, which young kids (those targeted with these) may find not as obvious. These have been out for a month in the US but have just shown up in Canadian Walmarts. For those curious about how exactly this gimmick works, we have video reviews for you below.

That Optimus is way too small, and unpainted. All these molded details, wasted.

But if I find it on sale, that would be a nice repaint project.

Funny how you are waiting for a sale while the market price for this guy is more than double. Primal is even worse. Very surprised by all this.

I'm not.
It's the "early bird scalper" syndrome as usual.
Sooner or later, those will be all over the place like a Plague of Egypt.

I'll wait.

Yeah and Prime is even repacked in wave 2. I didn't think this early bird thing would affect the main line.

I like it for teaching little kids more about how to transform transformers than the regular one steps. Aligning the panels is a bigger thing than it was when I was growing up with G1. It provides a fun way to transform that's normal for a lot of transformers and at the end you smush them together. Articulation is fun for us and all, but it's not fun for the real little kids who can't get them to stand up. My 7 year old is finally starting to appreciate articulation more where previously articulation was just something that meant effort was required to keep it standing.

Worried about the rubber bands breaking down.

What is it then, bubble gum? :???:

Anyway, based on all the rubber bands I used in my life, sooner or later those things "dry out" and snap.

I haven't touched these but I would imagine just soft plastic or maybe nylon like those clear bands.

I personally have come around on that Prime. I still think he either needed more paint or $6 taken off the price point, but he has proven to be a very fun figure. I like it, and i am enjoying it quite a bit.

This is where you should watch reviews or, you know, actually handle them in store :P I can confirm that it's actually hard plastic, but flexible enough for the toys to work. From what I can tell it's a new type of polymer, and I wouldn't be surprised if its main application would be in kitchen utensils like tongs.

This article is more to shed light on a fact that many people in the west may not know about. As many americans are aware, global distribution will cause local shortages and imbalances in supply and demand. We saw that with Cosmos, where the UK got an ample supply while the rest of the world did not and with Galaxy Shuttle, where Canada got a very healthy supply. But, a Yoda would say, there is another, right now. And it's the voyager class figures from the Rise of the Beasts line, the toyline aimed towards kids which many fans have chosen to ignore.
Of course, not all collectors, and that's where the heat is coming from. Unlike the Rise of the Beasts figures released in the Studio Series line, the mainline toys are not widely available in online collector shops across the world, and not all are on various national Amazon sites either. So, believe it or not, that voyager Optimus and Optimus Primal you may see in your local Walmart are highly coveted, since there is no way but through brick and mortar retail to get them. And we all know how that type of distribution can turn out.
Due to this, both are selling for over MSRP online right now, with Optimus Primal selling for double his price due to being shortpacked. These were both toys which fans laughed out of the room due to lackluster paint jobs and poor sizes. As valid as those points may be, this comes to show that you never know how lucky you may be to have a toy available and you never know what can become a hot commodity in this hobby.

You can see some sold e-bay listings here and in the image below.

As we just described, the Rise of the Beasts mainline is not widely sold online and more of a brick and mortar based line, which leads to a bunch of possible distribution issues. So, seeing as how a new toy from that line is available on Amazon.ca, we wanted to let you know. the Weaponiser Wheeljack set is available and shipping from Amazon.ca right now, priced at $22.99 CAD. It comes with a new Wheeljack toy and a repack of the Rhinox battle master. We also have a video review of this toy to share with you from ChurrotheShibe.

I have made the magnanimous decision to sacrifice my own collection of these figures so that all of you may have a better chance at them.

You're welcome.

Haha, right? We're getting an SS version of Prime at some point that hopefully looks a lot better, and Primal is basically a reskin of Kingdom Primal, so I wasn't even giving these a looksie. Ya'll have fun hunting these down.

Alt mode Rhinox looks pretty good, but his Bot mode isn't as good looking.
