Tformers has aquired 3 new images of the upcoming Transformers Movie Deluxe Dreadwing. Dreadwing is a Decepticon jet (appears to be a Mig 29) who is going to be in the upcoming game, and shares a similar head design to that of Swindle. The 3 pictures are of his front package, robot form and alternate form.

You can check the images out by clicking here.

What is with the lense heads? Shouldnt the leader of the clones have regular heads? From this guys bio he's not one of the drones so why does he have a drone head? Same with swindle. Why do i see most non-movie figures haveing lense heads?

EDIT: he also looks alot like armada thrust. I guess they have run out of ideas for new toys.

I'm pretty sure these are just the pictures from Hasbro's website that we saw the other day.

Although they seem to have replaced Dreadwing's pictures with pictures of Wreckage :???:

Just more money NOT to spend. I'm planning on buying a good portion of TFs coming out this year, so any money I don't have to spend is actually a good thing. :p

Swindle and Dreadwing are just hideous. Sometimes I wonder what kind of crack certain Hasbro designers are smoking to think certain designs should actually be turned into products. %)

I'm completely the opposite of this fandom. I HATE that Classics Dirge is a cheap Ramjet repaint & I think Classics Thrust looks like shit. Everybody else seems to love them. I love this Dreadwing drone & everybody else seems to hate it. Oh well!

Alt mode looks canny enough. But that robot mode...

If that design is a guy in the game, I'm gonna enjoy cramming his head through a building, regardless of which faction I'm playing as. Shouting things like

"Get yourself a decent robot mode before you try and attack/transform next to me!"
Heck, if I'm Starscream, I'll hunt him down and shoot him out the sky. What's with the heads? They have the same thing as some of the minicons in the Armada game. Only it looked alright on them.

Armada Thrust is reborn..., without a head.

Don't like it. its really a lousy transformer. Compared to the Autobots, heck even compared to Starscream.

Sad when something so promising turns into something like this.

EDIT:
Does anybody else think the purple tab coming off his crotch is just wrong??

I like how it looks, but judging from what I've seen in the Movie Prequel comic so far, it appears to be a more generic form of Decepticon on Cybertron. Could this be a movie Shockwave wannabe?

Err, look at it this way:

Of all the bad guys we've seen, about 3-4 (depending on Wreckage - is he supposed to be an LAV?) are US Military vehicles or modified US military vehicles. Only one is a Russian military vehicle.

I think that's the beauty of this hobby. Everyone has different tastes so therefore there is a special Transformer for everyone. Kind of like how I've always liked the Wheelie toy. Go figure.

This is kind of true. I'd rather they make a new mold than reissue G1 Wheelie, though. And in case you missed it, I'm pissed that these seekers are Botcon-exclusive because I realy, realy, realy, realy, REALY like Thrust (really ;)) and I can't afford to crap out two or three hundred dollars just for that one figure.

Also, I don't hate Dreadwing - kinda like it, actually - it's just that head's just getting redundant. You know, like BM deluxe Jetstorm (my other favorite figure besides G1 Kup) getting repainted, only not quite as good.

Seibertron wrote:It's like a boss used to say to me about 10 years ago back in the day when I used to sell cars ... "Ryan, there's an ass for every seat."

This figure and Swindle look like the children of Shockwave and Armada Laserbeak (yes, I know the Laserbeak thing has been mentioned, but it just fits so well again).

One lens head is okay, but c'mon.....

Now thats funny, and tes I totally agree when people don't like something but they sometimes go really way too far, example, dreadwing looks like something that bayscream shit. really, very not nessessary and how do they know what starscreams ahit looks like seriously, come on guys really! still theres an ass for every seat, funny.

What's worse is that generic bad guys in the screenshots for the videgames and the models in the 'name the decepticlone' survey all appear to have either G2-like helmet faces or monolenses AND traditional-looking faces (battle helmets maybe?).

First off, this is CRAP. The only thing redeeming to me about it is the fire effect for the engines, and it has 'army building' potential if you could get your hands on more (BIG but who'd want to?) and do a diorama of the IDW's TF Movie Prequel #1.

I don't like the robot body, but I've always been a fan of TFs with a robot or machine face(Shockwave, Whirl, WheelJack, Optimus) so I like the head on this guy.

I just hope Hasbro doesn't read this and take it as an excuse to be lazier.

I'm iffy on this guy... Need more pictures, clearer idea of poseability.

Looks like they just gave up half way through development. If they stuck Star Wars Transformer on it I would accept it but LAME!

Also, why does he have a winky?

DREADWING isn't terribly intelligent, so no one's certain where he got the teleportation technology that allows him to warp up to two and a half miles instantly. He sure didn't invent it and no one else has it, so he must have stolen it, which makes sense. He is, after all, a born thief. Sneaky and greedy, he pranks and steals from his fellow DECEPTICONS as often as the AUTOBOTS. No one likes him, so he spends most of his time alone, plotting grand schemes and spiking other robots' gas tanks with sugar.

Have you read the above? He isnt very clever yet he plots grand schemes, plays pranks and sneaks about. Was this written by two people or just one very dumb person? Actually, scrub that. It was probably written by the same person who signed it off as ready for production.

Erm... not so sure what I think of this one. My first instinct is a mix of "What the hell?" and "Thats.. nice..." Maybe when this one goes clearence.
Re: Clearer Images of Movie Deluxe Dreadwing (102251)
Posted by Kayevcee on April 28th, 2007 @ 5:58pm CDT
It says he *plots* grand schemes, not that he follows through on them. Plenty of idiots have thought about taking over the world.

Plane mode is decent. Robot mode is a bit tragic. I like the lens-face, but the head looks impractically long and I suspect turning it very far to either side will leave the back/nosecone to bang into the wings. If I see it at US RRP while I'm over for Botcon I'll inevitably pick it up, but if he doesn't appear till I'm back in the UK I may have second thoughts.

I don't know who wrote it but it's one of the most childish and immature bios i've ever read.

Perhaps the writer based it on themselves? That would explain the lack of intelligence.

And he has the ability to warp across a distance. Thank fuck they didn't paint him black and call him Skywarp. Guess we should be thankful for that.

Ive seen alot worse than that, armada nightbeat, g1 ironhide/ratchet, Energon Fatimus Prime, 3d card battle thing, cliffjumper don't make sense, come on, red jazz vehicle and a alt. swindle robot or whatever his name is. still this is preety cool and I really hear that swindle is really cool and that the chest cannon really works in both modes and last but certainly not least, I hope these aren't in the movie unless prime blow the shit out of them.

well actually if it was starwar transformers then I would have expected it to be...forget it, still it look to ave really good pose to it and really the movie line seams to be based on poseability, well not everything is perfect guys and girl, and really of topic, I find it really funny why people call harry hobgoblin, green goblin, and night surfer, don't people read, go to wikipedia and they will see he is called new goblin.

Yes, I do. While there's quite a lot of 'crotch kibble' in the world of TF's, most of it can be ignored. This, not so much. There aren't alot of other functions a free-swinging purple slab can have in robot mode.

Like I've said before, why they just didn't name it Erector is beyond me.
