meh, it just doesn't seem to work for me.

Why are they so obsessed with light gray plastic? A darker gray would have made this look 10 times better but it still looks pretty good.

Agreed. So close on this one Hasbro. Takara will probably get it right.

i dont know if this is just me.... but the colors just dont fit the bot mode on this mold. on the G1, yes, but on this i dont know it looks funky

Hell, I love the look of this, although i do agree a darker grey would have been better, but still OMG!

Well, I like it mainly cus to me, it's just an homage.

The gray plastic just makes it look cheap. It doesn't bother me though because I plan on painting those parts anyway.

Yeah, the grey plastic is a little on the light side but overall the look is good. I have always thought the bot mode on this guy looked really good. To me it was the paint scheme of the vehicle mode that hurt this figure but this is much better.

I for one will be getting this one. The light gray doesn't phase me at all. I loved the longarm figure and think this homage is not only an appropriate re-paint, but recall people actually wanting this figure done when they saw it the first time.

I never got movie Longarm the first time 'round, mostly because in my travels I never once saw one for sale, and the drones of him in the game pissed me right off... So there was a certain rage factor in every package... Worse still, I never really liked G1 Hoist all that much, and yet it's funny... If I see this figure, I will get it. It just works for me.

i love it! i will get this, i rarely get repaints like this unless they are really good, this happens to be really good!

I can't wait for this figure to be released! The mold looks like a perfect fit for a movie style Hoist.

Like others, I'm not a fan of the light grey plastic. It does make the toy look cheap. For me, the reason is that it's flat. There's no depth to it. The green on the body panels are fairly plain but it does resemble a standard paint job for a vehicle. The green on the torso in alt mode and the orange both have a metallic look to them, a sheen over darker colouring that gives depth and at least my eyes/brain interprets that as a more "realistic" looking material.

I noticed a similar problem with Jungle Attack Ironhide where a very light and flat looking grey is used for the toy.

This looks pretty good, even if it is slavish (My least favourite kind of ish in this fandom).

However, I find those complaining about ONE tone on the toy a bit much. It's an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE version of the character, not the same character as G1 Hoist. So while it might not be G1 accurate, the general deco does ring home to it's homage target.

Besides, I think it's a nice grey. The world's not going to split open just because the shade isn't exactly what is was 24 years ago.

Getting it simply bc of G1 homage repaint.

Getting it because I broke my Longarm trying to repaint him into Hoist anyways.

I'm thinking he'll fit in less with my movie figs and more in with my Classics and Universe figures. He jsut doesn't give off that live action vibe.

yup, that shade of gray just doesnt match the figure

Longarm was always one of my favorite (other than the weird gun screwed into hand thing but that was easily fixed) non-screen molds from the first movie-run, and I always thought his head looked like Hoist so I'm surprised it took them this long to do it!

I wish there was a little more paint apps on the body to bring out some of that detail, but I guess its more of the price cutbacks. A little touch up paint will fix, gives the hobbiests something to do.

Overall, though, this is one of those few homage decos they got decently done.

Makes me want Longarm more.

Needs more of the orange in bot mode, also I don't get the two tone green thing... why use two shades?

If I see him in shops I'll grab one for my Classic Universe collection.

I love it! Hoist is one of my all-time favorite Transformers! One of the few original Autobots I had as a kid, along with Prowl, Ratchet and Sunstreaker. I loved Longarm too. Especially after I removed that screw from his hand that held the cannon on permanently.

As for the colors on Hoist, I agree that the lighter grey isn't the greatest looking. However, like other Transformers we've seen recently, the light grey shown here is used for one of the softer plastics on the toy. I suspect there may be some connection there. Someone should ask Hasbro about it.

A little more orange detailing in robot-mode might have be nice. As for the two tones of green, you'll notice that they're each being used for a specific part of the truck. The brighter/"shinier"/"smoother" green is used for the truck body, while the duller "metallic" green is used for the heavy-duty steel bed.

Anyhoo...

It`s amazing,the colours,the head,all fits well.I hope i can find it here in Brazil because it`s a kicking ass repaint.
