Comparison Pics of JP and US Transformers Animated Blackout

Posted by Nekoman Apr 26, 2010 at 8:55pm CDT 38,885 views
Blackout, who's release in the United States is currently canceled as it would appear, has recently shown up in some new leaked images that compare the would-be Hasbro release with Takara's upcoming toy. Worthy of note is that many of the painted details and colors do slightly differ between the toys. To view all the comparison images click here.

Not feeling this guy, his head's too weird. I wish they had made Spittor instead.

I actually like his face: it's a cute mockery of the Bayniverse designs, and somehow compliments his 6 vulcan barrels jutting out (is it just six?)

But yeah, I'd prefer a toy of almost any other Con in that scene, except, ironically, Oil Slick. Even Strika, despite still harboring such strong feelings about Beast Machines that if I ever happened to be near the database with the show's models while holding a bulk-eraser, security would have to render me unconscious to stop my divine mission. And I'd fully expect them to. We all gotta' do what we gotta' do.

But Animated Strika's appearance seemed to be a subtle homage to Crasher. Or is that just me seeing something into the lipstick?

Any ideas as to what retailer would be most likely to get the larger Animated exclusives if not TRU, assuming this implies there's a ray of hope? I'd guess Target.

Kind of cool. Like a flying Bulkhead. I dont care if they stop the animated series too much. I have under 10 figures from Animated. But they NEED to release Thundercracker so I can complete the seeker set. And without any silly catches this time...

I hope this thing is released in the US. The US version (for a change) actually looks better. They are both similar, its just that the US version has highlights around the eyes. But the mustache isnt colored.

He's kinda cool. i might pick him up when he comes out. I do wish he came with a teeny-tiny Scorponok (perhaps painted as G1 Scorponok).

I pre-ordered my Blackout.

I was holding out hope that we would see a US release, but after the comments here (and seeing it sold out at BBTS) I decided to go for it.

I did not want this being the only thing I was missing from my TFA collection.

O that's a must have for my animated collection (have every mold but no repaints) - can someone point me in the direction of where we can pre-order this bad boy?

Hmm. He's kinda growing on me. He's sorta squatty looking in bot mode but he's pretty badass in vehicle mode. I do love all the guns. Maybe I'll consider it if he ever comes out here.

its not a mockery, bay blackout basically is animated blackout. they even have basically the same attack. they did the same thing with megatrons head in the beginning of the series.

You know, I really don't like Animated, the toys or the show, at all, but that is a very cute figure. I'd probably buy one if I ever saw it in stores. I really find him cute.

Still haven't got Arcee to complete my current TFA, but now also have to prepare budget to buy Blackout and Rodimus.

Why do they have to make those item exclusives? :-x
