Do Not Expect Any Significant Updates on the Transformers Reactivate Game Until 2025

Posted by william-james88 May 24, 2024 at 11:30am CDT 66,075 views
While a cinematic trailer was released for the Transformers Reactivate game, which seems to be a live service game ala Warframe, we haven't had more info on it since. Well, the question was asked to a Hasbro Australia representative at a Transformers 40th Anniversary Event, in Australia, and this is what they said:

"it is highly anticipated and I know that fans are waiting for it to come out and be released. Hopefully in 2025, we will have more to show"

So we should expect nothing for the rest of the year. But the game is still coming out.

Here is the full video where the quote comes from:

Clearly, they are taking their time and redesigning the characthers to be more Armada inspired.

Day 1606 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

So a wait till 2025 just to tell us the game isn’t moving forward  Hope we get some more figures out of it at least

Believe it when I see it.

I'm sure I won't play the game, as it's not a single-player game, so whether it comes out TODAY, 203X, or never is not my concern. It's all about the figures for me. The 2 2-packs are nice enough, but I still haven't bought them as I don't see it's an on-going line, as I don't want a "Reactivate" shelf with only 4 figures.

But I do wish the game succeeds for those that's into live-service games so Hasbro have the incentives to come out with more figures, and then I'll probably dip into the line.

Just hope they get further than Transformers Universe did with the game

I guess that explains why Hasbro pulled "Rise Lifeline" from 2024 Studio Series wave 3 (along with TLK Drift) leaving the Decepticon Soldier as the only new figure in the wave.

I wonder how Hasbro feels about this, surely it's had an impact on their plans for 2024 and 2025.

The live service trend is basically dying so unless they can pull a Helldiver 2 with this game, I have little hope.

As for the figures, they were only mid IMO. Not because of their looks, but because they were all fiddly to transform.

Let's wait and see how the rest develop. >:oP

I agree with this, though I can't comment on the released toys, to expensive for me, 70/80 euro's for a 2 pack is just, too much for characters I have 100 versions of already.

That live service nonsense model is absolute trash. Just make 1 good game, if it sells, which means people like the product, then make an addon or sequel. Not this whole buy a 70-120 dollar game, that's stripped to sh*t. The game will have like 3 different enemies, extremely repetitive uninspired missions set in a dead and empty world. And the "Season pass" which is just a curse word in my book, will consist of recolors and more of the exact same.

I hope I'm wrong since I want a new Transformers game. I played WFC and FOC to death and need something new :).

Guys, imagine this: Elden Ring but with Transformers. (and I don't even care if it's 90% melee and 10% shooting)

While there won't be any updates for Transformers Reactivate until at least next year, something pretty cool has dropped. TFReaper has uploaded leaked gameplay footage of the game from 2020. It gives us an idea of the third person angle this game has along with the how the transformation gimmick is implemented along with what the enemies are. And we see that Bumblebee design that we are now very familiar with due to the toys.

The footage is from the tutorial area. It is also important to remember that the game has been massively reworked since so it may look very different from this once eventually released.

OK, this looks amazing. They seriously need to finish this game. We are LONG overdue for a new Transformers storyline, villain, and game. Legion, huh? Was anyone else getting ROTB Apelinq vibes from some of those targets?

So far, so good, but let's hope there's no plump HR lady or "consultants" agencies that sabotaged the game from the inside since then.

I want a Transformers game, not ROBOT UNICORN ATTACK.
Check it out, it's a classic!

Now that I think about it, yes, but seeing them in gameplay immediately reminded me of those Decepticlones that would neutralize your weapons then use wrestling moves on you in the PS2 Armada game.

The visuals are beautiful. And great gameplay in all of this…

But I can’t help thinking about the original beast wars PlayStation game. Like that one, It feels like they just dropped the transformers, brand and character models into a game that has nothing to do with transformers.

It’s missing all of the characterization, voices, plot, and lore that come with the franchise… All of the things that put heart and emotion and gravitas into a show or game. While I think it would be fun to play, I can’t help, but hope for another game on the horizon that is more in the lines of devastation or fall of Cybertron that will have me cheering for the characters I love and draw me into the story.

Honestly, we don't know near enough about it to say it's missing those things. This is gameplay only, after all. What else do we know about this? Honestly, jack squat. We don't know the story. We don't know the characterizations. All we know is the figures we've gotten and this walkthrough with what may be a temporary voice actor.

Nice mix between High Moon Cybertron third person shooting and Devastation combat. Shame this isn't in the 40th anniversary while that one budget friendly racing combat game took its spot (if intended)

DEVASTATION is a TPS because the shooting is stronger than the slashing.Even for scoring:headshot with a rapid weapon, beat'em alls don't have headshots,Columbo. The most distinct is the dodge+slow motion or the vehicule crash+it,the very strong drill shot that can be charged(logically not the same model as Devastator because of size). The two others are higly story driven,i can see why you would prefer the multiplayer over the playable cutscenes.BATTLEGROUNDS is a turn by turn TPS.

The game was announced in December 2022 with a cinematic trailer and promises of a beta that never happened. Their next social media update was a full year later promising "exciting updates" in 2024. Here we are another full year later with nothing. But oh hey look, leaked gameplay from nearly FIVE YEARS ago. lol this game is never happening.

If the game is one more online hero shooter à la Overwatch, it better be FTP with a kick-ass co-op story mode, and generous rewards, with a simple interface.

If they fail just ONE of these aspects, the game will be effectively DOA.

That's all well and fine if the game actually releases, which it totally won't.
