While Seibertron has had exclusive images of the Platinum Conehead G1 rerelease (officially called TRANSFORMERS PLATINUM EDITION SEEKER SQUADRON 3-PACK) for almost a month now, Hasbro has finally provided stock images of this set and we have the high definition ones to show you. The previous in box images confirm that the deco will be provided through stickers and not tampographs. This set includes a reissue of G1 Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust and can currently be preordered online for 69.99$ US and 99.95$ US. It is set to ship early May.

Bought Blitzwing/Astrotrain on ebay today, really not super expensive there. Looking forward to getting them whenever the slow boat decides to ferry them here.

Is there anything wrong with them though?

Hey Congrats! Thats something I think I will never achieve, its really an awesome accomplishment, especially with today's market.

Most people here that know me will know my love of the G1 Seeker mold....

... so I'm rather disappointed in this set. Without anything funky to it, like an anime deco or weird colours or extra accessories - there isn't enough here to make it worth owning. I guess its great for people that need the figures, but I never buy reissues unless there is something 'different' from the vintage, which makes these a pass for me.

Your welcome your welcome your welcome!

Been on the fence for the E-hobby Thrust and Ramjet but their prices are simply waaaaaaaay out of my league for the prices they fetch. Even in ebay, Thrusts costs so high and that's for the loose and incomplete figs. Now both bricks and poseable versions are now mine (the former once delivered this May to be exact)

Desslock probably meant the coneheads not getting the "duocon" colored treatment.

Now, if only just the G1 Dinobots are released again( with the exception of Grimlock).....

Call me weird but I read that in the voice of a high-class British lady. :KREMZEEK:

Seriously, I really LOVE standard re-issues. Most of the G1 toys I own are reissues and I wouldnt own any otherwise. The true vintage stuff is either in bad shape or ridiculously expensive. In a world with no reissues, I can't even imagine how much the vintage G1 stuff would go for. So, with normal reissues, HasTak make new money and it allow the average guy to enjoy some G1 molds.

Oh well. The jet modes still look pretty nice after all this time. The robot modes never did.

That's because in G1, it was always the vehicle mode that had priority, and the bot was designed around it. That's why the vehicle always look PERFECT but the bot suffer from it a bit.

Yeah, perhaps. Though many G1 figures still had better robot modes than the seekers. And I think it just annoyed me more at the time cos it was six toys all using the same basic mold. Ok Hasbro do that to infinity these days but back then it just seemed a bit off to me. I had Thundercracker (I liked it colour scheme the best back then though these days I'm more partial to the black and purple of Skywarp) and that was enough for me. I was more into collecting the wider variety of cars, vans and trucks the Autobots had (Jazz's Porsche and Sideswipe's Lamborghini being among the faves and they both had decent robot forms with good arm articulation even if bricky legs)

Woah woah woah, wait a sec. Hasbro has the insecticons on their main site with a suggested price tag of 64.99.

Why isnt anyone taking their suggestion?! This means the similarly priced triplechanger set will also be over 100$ cdn. Ha, I forsee another walmart masterpiece skywarp thing happening.

We had to squint back in the late 80s and use a whole lot of imagination back then  when playing with those bricks.

P.S. Since I can't wait for the local TRU and my local specialty store to get the Seekers, preordered at RK

While we already had an image of the contents of the Autobots Intel Ops Platinum set (which includes a rerelease of G1 Blaster and Perceptor), it had a lot of glare and we had yet to see what the box looks like. Well thanks to Seibertron User Daimchoc's facebook page, we now have a clearer image of the contents as well as the front image of the box which showcases some great artwork. However, it also confirms what we all thought, that Rewind is not included in this set. This hints that this rerelease of Blaster is probably the same set that was previously released as part of the Universe toy line, since that set also lacked Rewind. However, for those who do not have either of these great toys yet, this set could still be appealing. The galleries for the G1 figures or Blaster and Perceptor can be found here and here respectively.

The absence of Rewind is very noticeable hasbro. Please god Rewind and Chromedome Reissue set.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I don't even care rewind isn't there, still glad I can add 2 amazing figures I don't own to my collection! Hopefully the price is okay.

Awesome news for those that don't have the figures, but for collectors like me - the lack of crazy colours is sad. Astrotrain and Blitzwing really scored high for me so I was hoping for some kinda lunatic colour scheme on these, too.

I don't know who Rewind is and I don't care. I'm so buying that set! As long that it's not 200$, that is.
