First Retail Sighting of Platinum Age of Extinction Dinobots Unleashed set (Toysrus)

Fellow Seibertronian Shajaki has just spotted the BBTS and Toysrus shared exclusive Platinum Age of Extinction Dinobots Unleashed five pack. This five pack includes a new deco for voyager Grimlock, voyager Slog, deluxe Slug, deluxe Scorn and deluxe Strafe. This is the first reported sighting.

While the decos seem to be more aligned with the movie accurate deco, they also feature heavy use of translucent plastic. In hand images of these decos can be found here, and thorough galleries of the individual molds can be found here.

this set would be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS if the majority of the figures were done in the brushed metal they used with a few chrome accents.. seriously.. this set could've been perfect.. but the way it is now is awful, they have some gorgeous brushed metal parts hodgepodge'd with the ugly smokey translucent plastic and random chrome/plain grey plastic parts.

had they all been done like strafe's wings with a couple strategically placed chrome bits and a couple small color accents, these would've been amazing.

Am I getting confused in my old age or was there some sort of an announcement that one of the AoE toys was going to be a metallic painted Op using the Voyager Battle Blades Optimus Prime mould? :-?

Got mine in yesterday, late night.
Looks good in box, at least it was chromed and not painted as I had worried previously.
At least now this set is done with and can be assembled together in front of the Ark for some nice flicks.

got mine and i love it, interesting that it uses the exact same box as the regular Slog, even the regular Slog product shots. the figure itself looks so good with my SDCC Dinobots now. He'll make a fine Classics Slog for now

well gahd dayum! its been long enough! i had begun to wonder whether it was still coming out or not. considering he was part of the thrilling thirty, and we're now officially in the thrilling thirty-one :lol:

Actually, the G1 Dinobots came out in 1985, so it really is the Thrilling Thirty for this fig.

At least in the US it is, but Amazon may have sold some to overseas importers (Strange concept, I know). I'm 15 minutes from the Plainfield IN Distribution Hub (Used to work there as Holiday temp...) so I figured I might get some of the first out.

It looks awesome, but I'd probably want it more if I had the SDCC dinobot set for him to go with. I'll get regular slog to go with my AoE dinobots.
