He may not be properly dressed for formal events like his Takara counterpart but Hasbro's Masterpiece Grimlock will be available at San Diego Comic-Con! He'll cost $70 and will be available at Entertainment Earth's booth.

So why would someone pay $70 ad SDCC when he will be available for $60 at TRU?

To avoid disappointment? If there's a figure I really want I'm prepared to drop a few extra beans on a guaranteed buy rather than searching all day on the off chance of getting a cheaper one.

If there's a figure that's gonna be scalped harder than Animated Arcee it'll be this one.

That's doubtfull. You have to consider the price point here. With Arcee, you're looking at an easy 100-200% proffit. Also consider the fact that there are already a lot of these floating around the market in the form of the Takara/Tomy version. He might be a little hard to come by initially, but I doubt he'll be all that hard to find once the dust settles.

Still have my mint G1 Blaster (albeit the one without the opening door) so I may hold off on this one. Nice to see this one back on the market just the same of course. Predaking (how I've longed for you since the 1980s) and the possible Trypticon re-issue will trump this purchase for sure. So much on the way from Hasbro/Takara, I don't know where to begin (and how I'll be able to keep my accountant wife happy at the same time). #-o

I must've missed the memo cause i had no clue Blaster was getting reissued. Ive always wanted one but at that price my collection is still going to be lacking one.

For what it's worth I missed the Mighty Mug Prowl. Blaster was announced at BotCon, though, and from the look of it Prowl might have been too.

He was in the display case next to Blaster.

if he's $70 at CC - the tax is included. I thought the initial listing on TRU.com said 69.99 anyway so I'm not complainin on the price.

In my best Ice Cube voice "Yeay! Yeay!!!"

i do NOT like the price of that blaster set. For $50 we should get 4 tapes. I think Soundwave was $50 last year too. Bummer

I can't wait for my TRU to start stocking MP Grimlock. He is a simplistic, but excellent mold IMO.

BTW, my local TRU still has about 5-6 animated Arcee's. So, if anyone missed out or didn't get them in their area, just Pm me and I'll see what I can do.
