Haslab Deathsaurus Painted Model Shown in Live Stream

Posted by william-james88 Nov 29, 2022 at 8:10pm CST 28,258 views
Hasbro had a short pulse livestream today to show fans the new painted model of Haslab Deathsarurus that they received. This being a painted model means that some of the painted areas will be in coloured plastic on the final model but it will be the same colour placement, be it plastic or paint. We also got confirmation that there will be vac metal on the finished figure in the chest area and the robot helmet.

Speaking of the chest area, the gimmick was shown where both animal partners can integrate into Deathsaurus' chest as well as what it looks like when none of them are attached. We also saw that there is a storage area for the mace (the mace itself is not yet funded). There were other fun tidbits as well. Evan made a comment regarding how freeing the design/engineering process was for Deathsaurus since none of the molding had to be shared with any other bot, which shows us how that's a big part of planning for mainline toys and accounts for the decisions made. We also got a confirmation that the backing numbers you see for Deathsaurus count ALL orders, so that means the Japan numbers as well. Another tidbit, while there will be another Haslab project after this one, it will likely not be a character from the Victory series. It was stated that the next Haslab project would be to coincide with the 40th anniversary to the Transformers line as a whole.

No, he is just ever so slightly taller.

It's a half head difference which doesn't sound like much, but looks like a lot side-by-side to me.

Towards the end of the latest Deathsaurus promotional stream on YouTube last Monday it was mentioned that the hand painted model they were showing off was going directly to the photographer after the stream. And now we have those photos all over the HasLab order page replacing the colored CG models revealed nearly two weeks ago. The new gallery brightens up the colors considerably and likely represent our closest look to the final figure. Enjoy the new photos and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub Forums.

I've only just noticed that they articulated the toes on the alt mode so they don't stick out from under his arm. That's a ridiculously cool detail that I doubt we'd have seen on a retail version.

I really wish I could afford this. I thought the block model was awesome but the extra detail on the painted model is gorgeous.

Anyone else disappointed that the 2nd tier was referred to as the last?

So that IS what he said! You make me sad, BMac.

I may be out of this campaign, but I'm still curious to see if it will make all the tiers. :-?

Do you think that's a good thing or a bad thing? It's accurate to the original toy and cartoon.

This guy looks fantastic. I didn't like the look of the haslab Star Sabre so I passed on it.
I don't know if I would get this guy on his own.

I am so excited for him, the new color shots make him look stunning. I am now considering getting a 2nd one.

There are so many cool details with this package, it is great!

Dare I say, he looks far FAR better than Victory Saber.

Ooh, we're now at 13,070, only another 930 to hit tier 1, we can definitely do that Monday.

Knowing what we know know about the count updates I'm sticking with my original estimate of of 18,000~ backers. There wont be a big order dump at the end this time and we're at less than 11 days remaining.

That's probably about right. VS surpassed it's 3rd tier by 6k. But villains don't traditionally sell as well as heroes, especially in Japan. Also I think the design team was smart not to force 3 tiers on this one. Added content would have been great, but possibly not obtainable. The team really got it right in the demand for this guy ( not too much or too little). Hopefully future TF Haslabs will follow a similar trend of lower priced items, but still something fans would really want.

And just like that we have the cannon! I'm a bit disappointed that that was our international backer dump though. Thought we'd get more since he fully funded and some people wait till then, but oh well. Maybe a bunch of people will order now and we'll get the throne. Not as confident as I was during the last week, but still hopeful

True, it was a bit smaller this morning (about 550), as opposed to past Mondays. There is still 1 more Monday left however. I think it's going down to the wire. Probably next Mondays push will do the same, and get it just past the 17K needed if backers steadily grow this week, as they did last week.

At this point, I'm just hoping for the cannon. The throne would be nice, too, but I feel the cannon is more important to the character.

Welp, I finally saved enough to order. Now I just need to find a site that ships to other European countries beyond Pulse's (very limited) pool. The only one I could find so far was Robotkingdom; can anyone say how reliable they are with preorders?

It's just more and more good news for Haslab Deathsaurus. He was funded a a little while ago and now the first tier has been funded as well. The full description of that tier is below. There are 7 days left to back him and less than 3000 orders are needed for the throne to be included.

We also have news that Hasbro Pulse UK is shipping out Victory Saber now. Pulse USA should be doing as well soon.

Tier 1
The Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon is perhaps one of the most destructive weapons in the Transformers universe. A fully-charged blast from its barrel can erode any metal material, including the living cells of Cybertronian lifeforms. This Deathsaurus figure comes with this signature weapon accessory and his classic spiked flail accessory! Fans can also plug the 6 included blast effects onto the Deathsaurus figure and his weapon accessories. The Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon, spiked flail, and blast effect accessories will be unlocked when the campaign reaches 14,000 backers.

Radical. The throne might end being funded anyway but I am at least glad Tier 1 was reached.

I ordered both Victory Saber and Deathsaurus through them (being located in Switzerland). VS was my first order from them and should ship out soon, as I just payed the remaining balance. Can't say more than that unfortunately, but the experience so far was good
