In Hand Image of Studio Series Leader AOE Knight Optimus Prime

We have an in-hand pic of Transformers SS AOE Prime! This give us an idea of the unpainted plastic in more natural light. Also, you'll notice that his silhouette is not encumbered by kibble in his back. That's because the truck cab kibble has the possibility of folding back even further, as you can see in the images below. While it looks bad from the sides, it makes it look much cleaner in the front, which is something none of the previous renditions of this character could accomplish. The phot has been shared on various social media platforms, like Instagram and Facebook.

So the figure will look bad from most sides? This makes it an easy pass then.

He's talking about if you intentionally transform it wrong to clean up the silhouette from the front by folding down the kibble behind his head.

A ton of in-hand images are in for SS AOE Prime! Here’s some of the highlights:

- He’s scaled to SS AOE Galvatron, so a little shorter than him and just barely taller than SS-32/44 Optimus

- The truck bed actually looks really good! Probably the best truck bed for a Studio Series truck mode, , (though that’s not exactly a high bar to clear)

- the back kibble is removable! Honestly I don’t think I’ll display him like that since I think they handled the kibble really well, but it’s cool that it’s an option!

So, in order to look accurate to the movie needs to partsform, like the Takara leader remold.
If the TLK one didn't had a pin or a screw I don't remember right now, would be the same.
Well, time to wait for the reviews before I truly decide but knowing me, I probably will get it anyway

Wait, so he's shorter than the TLK voyager? At a leader price point? That's...disappointing.

He is what Galvatron should've been: a great leader given the room to breath so he can make an awesome toy.

I am very much hyped for him. I have a soft spot for Knight Prime, and I adore this

He is smaller to keep with Studio Series scale, but the engineering, articulation, and accessories are all massive improvements over the TLK Voyager IMO. I think it earned the leader class scale!

Found Shadow Raider not too long ago, it's a pretty fun figure! The right forearm snapped on the first transformation, though. I'm generally not one for redos in Studio Series, but the fragility issues with Lockdown do make me want to see a new one. Either way, I painted Shadow Raider up!

Honestly I am impressed at how AoE Prime's backpack has been handled. A lot less "cheaty" than I expected, and I think it's quite worth the engineering budget since I really enjoy the robot mode proportions compared to other AoE Prime figures.

And this is why hasbro is able to get away with this.

To charge a leader class price for this is INSANE. There is not a full deluxe figures worth of extra “engineering” in this, a figure that has a “we gave up, so we just made the backpack removable”. And even the paint is terribly disappointing. I mean.. it’s crazy that not only is this acceptable, but that there are people who are justifying and defending it.

This is exactly how hasbro’s ceo is able to rake in $15 MILLION in total compensation for one year. And people will gladly justify it. This is why I can’t bring myself to collect transformers anymore. Stuff like this, to me, is just blatant greed. I can’t justify paying $20 more for something to aid in someone making more money in one year than the average person would in 200+ YEARS. And I know you can say that about most CEO’s. But to me, this is just so blatant it’s indefensible. It screams that they’re just trying to specifically take advantage of the die hard fans.

Hasbro will continue their level A offerings in 2025, where retailers can order a bunch more Optimus Primes or Bumblebees if need be. The Optimus Prime figure available to them in 2025 will be Transformers Studio Series Deluxe Optimus Prime from the Devastation game. Fans had a lukewarm reception to this reveal but now we have a video review which can further help you see if this is a figure you'd add to your collection or not. You can check it out below.

This figure has been popping up in Asia (specifically Indonesia) so it is already in the process of being distributed worldwide.

Indeed, that Devastation Optimus should have been at least a voyager. As a deluxe, it's full of cancer growth in both robot and truck mode.

They could have just repainted the SS86 Commander Optimus in cell-shaded deco and release it without the trailer at a leader price. It would have been much better, and much easier.

That would completely miss the point of this release, which is to have a deluxe-priced, cartoon accurate Optimus Prime on shelves all year long.

If they had to have at least a deluxe Optimus, they could have just shipped G1 Universe Optimus again in another wave and call it a day.

When I was a fledgling collector in the late 2000's, I went years without a true Optimus Prime because they were always too big and out of reach for my child's allowance. While I now have Optimuses aplenty and no longer need this myself, I'm glad that young fans nowadays have such a thing available to them. Someone just getting into Transformers is going to want an Optimus Prime, and figures like this one make entry more accessible.
