Ready! Aim! Fire! Thanks to toy wholesaler website NDA-Toys, we now have in-package pictures of the Battle Master class from the forthcoming Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege toyline. Nestled within these pictures though is a bigger surprise, Decepticon Blowpipe! This marks the first Decepticon we have seen for this line. Like his fellow Battle Masters, he transforms into a weapon (in his case a gun) and comes with a yellow blast effect. Together with Firedrive and Lionizer, the three are the first wave of Battle Masters. We have mirrored the in-package pictures for your convenience below.

It's nice seeing more pictures of the Targetmasters, but I'm still only planning to pick up Lionizer. It's nice to see that Hasbro is releasing the Targetmasters that go with the Targetmasters from Titans Return

Disappointed that Blowpipe only comes with one Fire Blast. Based on the SDCC promotion, they're not just a fun play feature, they can also be used for dynamic displays. If they don't repeat the same fire blast effects in future waves, I may have to pick up some doubles.

The effect from Blowpipe looks like it will work well for targets, rather than the weapons. Ironhide and Sideswipe both have pegs on their torsos that would make it appear that they had been shot when Bliwpipe's Fire Blast is applied.

Well it is indeed quite nice to see we are getting the partners for the Targetmasters two toylines later. Better late than never, I suppose! And it's quite neat because Triggerhappy was my favorite deluxe from TR. :-D

These are some of the coolest boxes I've ever seen for Transformers. I love the G1 boxes, but holy crap are these awesome.

I kinda wish Ultra Magnus' altmode was more G1, and I wonder how hard it would be to mod him to make that happen. But he's still "Shut up and take my money!" The one real complaint I have about him is the gun. Not the color (I kinda expected this might happen. Do bear in mind the toyfair displays are generally handpainted samples), but the fact that it isn't dual-pegged like the original so that it can be held differently by the cab robot. It has a faux-handle on top, but that's about as useful as the decorative handle on the G1 Optimus Prime toy's gun.

Looking forward to Sideswipe because Universe Sideswipe is rarespensive on eBay.

Also looking forward to Cog, going to be nice to have him to go with Fort Max.

Optimus is cool and desirable and is kinda making me wish I hadn't splurged on CW Optimus when I finally found a tolerable price.

Firedrive.., I'm half-hoping he'll get pushed back to a later wave so that they can fix him because they completely screwed up his weapon mode because they were looking at the stupid also-botched Legends toy instead of how he's supposed to look. :-x

But it's probably more realistic to hope that correcting him by modding won't be too difficult....

Whats wrong with Firedrive exactly? He looks pretty good to me

His weapon mode is all wrong because of where the barrels end up. On the original Firebolt, the barrels were attached to the back of the legs:

And the weapon mode looked liked this:

Compared to that, the Siege version has been turned around backwards and then had the barrels sawn off and remounted behind the head.

Interesting that the Hasbro packaging features full ID codes:

Firedrive: WFC-S1
Lionizer: WFC-S2
Blowpipe: WFC-S3

Note: they are NOT the TakaraTomy codes, nor do they line up in number.

"Battlemasters" because the word "targetmasters" is too gun specific. Battlemasters can be a generic "weapon" designation.

Actually they are part of the established factions, they are just before the name... And in blowpipes case because of the angle you can't make out the con sigil but you can make out the con purple (god bless hasbro for colour coding the factions)

I wonder if instead of a faction symbol that could be a symbol that indicates what part of Cybertron they're from? Firedrive and Lionizer could be Iacon (usually represented as domes and towers) while Blowpipe is Kaon (usually a large pit or pool with something sticking out of the middle). We'll have a better idea when we see more packaging and what type of images show up next to the names.

I just had a thought, Hasbro had said that figures won't have gimmicks unless the original toy had one. Targetmaster didn't exist until long after Cybertronians came to earth, so these figures are out of place, no?

That's an easy fix by saying in this trilogy, they did exist. While robot modes are lavishly G1, I don't think the fiction will be.

Courtesy of online retailer AmiAmi and the news feed on their own site, we have another Transformers: War for Cybertron Siege poster to add to the roster of promotional images being used for the new story and toylines to come in the next couple of years.

The image, mirrored below, once more shows the main Autobot cast of the Ark, with Optimus Prime, Chromia, Red Alert and Hound, Sideswipe, and Prowl - with yet again some hints at Tetrajets as part of the composition, and one special tease so far not entirely made clear: Omega Supreme's rocket from the character's alt mode. Prowl's chest makes me think he could be new, but I also think they could retool maybe TLK Barricade to use as Prowl's base like how Scourge and Highbrow from TR were "retools". I could just not be giving Hasbro/Takara enough credit though. Here's hoping the line's good in hand :-D

Hmm...I can sort of see it, but at the same time, a tower sometimes is just a tower. I can still dream its the ark though, with a lot of panel folding so he looks like the g1 robot to fit with the line.

I can see Omega Supreme in that. It looks kind of like the the rocket when it's docked with its launch thing on the G1 toy. I certainly hope that is the case, but I wouldn't mind too much if it wasn't, mostly because I really want a titan Scorponok

So, looking at the picture and seeing the tower thing to the left of the Ark blasting off that is kind of on its own, it could be Omega Supreme, the next Titan Class figure.

I’d love to see omega as the ark but let’s not kid ourselves. This ain’t Classics where we got modern G1 transformers, this is Generations where we get G1 transformers with modern engineering. If we get an Omega he’ll look like he did from the cartoon and original toy but with knees. And well also get the outcry of why he doesn’t walk like the old toy like we had to listen to when Trypticon came out.

I'm noticing that people are either thinking that OS is either going to be the Ark, or something akin to his original G1 self, but my question is... why not both?

He can transform into the classic spaceship platform with a tank, but instead of just a standard looking rocket, we have the ark to replace it. It would make sense continuity wise if we're trying to stick to G1, as you can simply say they used OS as their platform for the ark, and it could please those who want an animated callback.

Maybe? Who knows?

That's... Actually a great idea. I was thinking it could be more like that 3rd party company that made Omega from the original WFC where it could achieve both at separate times, but now your idea sounds awesome. Just enough G1 for the fans from the 80s, but also a reference to Animated for the younger fans

Hmm..I don't recall much outcry at the lack of motorized movement. I didn't expect Trypticon to have it, nor Skylynx, nor a Modern OS (if we get it). The only issue I had with Trypitcon was his shortness next to Metroplex & Fortress Maximus. But it's not a big deal in hindsight, still a great toy, and glad mine did not have the defects that earlier releases had.

NYCC is just over 2 weeks away. I am excited for any reveals we get, since my definite purchases on this siege line currently are at zero, but there are 3 *potential* purchases, based on what may or may not be revealed at the Convention. Also it appears that in the past, there has not always been an exclusive toy released at NYCC. So my *hopes* for anything that may be a final PotP release are scanty at best.

What are your three potential purchases then o.supreme? I'm expecting at least first wave Decepticons then, though Blowpipe has already been revealed

Cog and Sixgun (as well as any future weaponizer, most likely) are currently on my 'must have' list. Why? Because it's a gimmick which seem like it has great potential both within the line itself and with previous figures, as it uses plug-and-play of 5mm ports.

My must haves are the weaponizers, Magnus, and Omega Supreme. Maybe Ironhide, if we don't see a Ratchet out of that mold

I really nearly every figure in this line has integration with Weaponizer almost on par with Sideswipe, however.
