Were you unable to make the SacAnime convention at the beginning of January, or did you miss your chance to hear from Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime (and many many more?). Fear not, as YouTube reviewer Sean Long was not only present, but has also shared recordings of the two panels featuring the veteran voice actor (around 50 minutes each), and an interview with the man himself! They touched upon personal stories, his opinion on Transformers toys past and present, favourite Optimus lines, potential successors, and future projects, from Rescue Bots, Robots in Disguise, and NASA. Find them below for the full viewing.
To refresh your memory about Cullen and his importance to the franchise, check out fellow Seibertronian and voice actor jON3.0's introduction to the man behind the mask, also mirrored below, highlighting the life, career and achievements of one of the human Transformers icons alive.
Panel recordings.

“There is a sense that Transformers movies are going into a darker area. I think I brought the concern to the movie studio and certainly to the writers. Perhaps…Transformers 5 and 6 movies will go back more to its roots. There was an occasion where one line [in Transformers: Age Of Extinction] which Optimus Prime had, I did not want to say. It was my gut instinct and certainly my commitment to the character… not to say the line. But I was told to say. You can’t fight the big boys. I think you all know what that line was.”
Interesting.
Interesting.

Even Mr. Cullen noticed how far from the Optimus persona the movies have taken him. Especially starting in the high calorie no nutrition value ROTF upwards.
Btw, his eyes are so blue........just like Prime's
