Still as I said above if they are goign to do it all over yet again, I feel sorry for SW fans. Also if Blaster indeed got bumped from Legacy to late Kingdom (presumbaly will scale with WFC Soundwave), then again, making a whole new scale for soundwave and minions makes even less sense.

I believe the $26 one will be because that's what Target in the US charges for SS figures
It's because of the hood.Nemesis Reformatted wrote:Rtron wrote:
It's funny because Budiansky was apparently bamboozled too, he claims he gave the guy that name and personality as wordplay because the toy they gave him was blue. Probably a Diaclone one. That and the boxart confirm they changed the deco at the last minute,
Why would they make such a pointless & unnecessary change like that? I was looking all over for the blue version.

Both of the Diaclone pre-Bluestreaks had hoods that were different colors from the rest of the car's body (blue w/ a silver hood and silver w/ a black hood), which made them both look like those old broken cars that use replacement parts from other cars that don't match the rest of the car.
Apparently, Hasbro didn't want their Bluestreak to look like an old broken car with a replaced hood, so they took the silver hood from the blue car and put it on the silver car to create a new uniform design with a matching car and hood, nixing the silver car's original black hood in the process. Evidently, this decision came too late in the game for the packaging to be changed, but not too late for the comics and cartoon to both switch to the silver character design before release.
That said, however, it seems the cartoon somehow got a look at the original Diaclone silver car w/ black hood deco instead of the new all-silver deco, since the cartoon model for Bluestreak used the black hood instead of the new silver one, like how the cartoon also used Diaclone blue Swoop instead of Swoop's new red coloring meant to make him better resemble the other Dinobots who also used red as a secondary color. The comics, on the other hand, did use the all-silver Bluestreak and red Swoop as per their toys.
Yeah, you can see from his early model colors that there was a transition between the Diaclone blue deco and the new all-silver deco that changed the silver hood to blue to make it uniform, but then switched to all-silver before finalizing the design with the Diaclone silver w/ black hood deco:Rtron wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's because of the hood.Nemesis Reformatted wrote:Rtron wrote:

The differences in comic and cartoon color accuracy are probably a result of respective production lead times. Cartoons take way longer to produce, and that includes coloring. Plus, the amount of people involved means that once something is on a character sheet, it's set in stone for the episodes that are already going into production. Comics take a shorter time to produce and are colored by only one person, who wasn't particularly detail oriented or meticulous in The Transformers' case, so you can put any coloring change in effect as soon as you notice it's happened. It's a bit weird though, given how Yomtov crearly didn't give a damn when coloring stuff.

If Hastak gives us a solid SS86 Soundwave first, people won’t care as much.
How would SS86 Soundwave differ from the Netflix Soundwave released last year?

Voyager class. Sorry, thought I included that, but I was also just waking up so I guess I forgot that important part

My current theory is that "Energon Monsters" are Core class Weaponisers / Battlemasters / Armour. We know there's a Pretender homage in Legacy so this will probably that. I'm betting they'll be transparent "energon" figures of the Pretender shells that can be taken apart and put on Deluxe figures. There's also rumours of "Energon Hunters" which I'm guessing are the Autobot pretender shells.
If the Decepticon shells are relegated to Core class exclusivity while the Autobots get Deluxe+ I will be incredibly pissed. Autobot Pretenders are incredibly worse than Decepticon Pretenders.

That Octane mold just never did it for me, especially not the Optimus versions (though granted, I was still waiting for a good Optimus since the Classics mold... which Siege fixed). I've wanted a new Laser Prime for one reason (two really) the redecos. Scourge is all but guaranteed with his Live-action debut in RotB and Toxitron is perfect Selects fodder.
