Pre-ordered mine back in April. I'm really excited for this figure, I've been planning on making him my primary Megatron figure in my collection.

Given how it splits open, it's probably a lot lighter than it looks. Might weigh a tad bit more than TR Galvatron's cannon is my best bet.

Unless they have redone that particular pair of joints, don't count on it too much. The shoulder itself houses a soft ratchet, but the connection to the body is a simple mushroom peg on TR Galvatron:

It still amazes me how many modes they gave this guy:
  • Super Jet Mode
  • Super Megatron
  • Ultra Tank Mode
  • Ultra Megatron
  • Megatron Omega
  • Megatron Omega: Perfect Form

And yet that's still not the most modes a single Megatron figure has had.

If you mean RiD 2001 Megatron (who, officially, only had six modes; the other five were part of his Galvatron upgrade), he was originally the different-character Gigatron and was made Gigatron again in the IDW1 comics, so he's kind of in a gray area when it comes to counting him as a real Megatron.

Honestly, given how many different dimensional variants of RiD 2001 there are, he's probably a real Megatron in one of them.

To be really fair, the Omega forms are just variations of the base robot mode with a new face. :-?

me (crying): You can't just randomly position limbs to make new modes!
Tamara (rotates leg 90 degrees): base mode

Really like how they handled the face-changing gimmick. I really hope this sort of engineering gets used on other figures as well.

Greetings, fellow Seibertronians! We have a neat treat for you all today. Seibertron.com forum members -WonkoTheSane- and Mad Project have notified us that YouTube reviewer Ray Siow has published a review of the upcoming Transformers Generations Selects Super Megatron from Takara Tomy. Please note, this review is in Chinese. Ray gives us a look at this new figure, the first ever of the Super Megatron character from the "Battlestars" manga and story pages, the fiction that accompanied the "Transformers: Return of Convoy" line of toys in Japan back in 1991. We get to see Super Megatron in his robot mode, as well as the conversion into Ultra Megatron, and Ultra Megatron Omega, thanks to a face-swapping gimmick, and reversible chest panel, and a few other modular and poseable parts to differentiate the three evolutions of the resurrected Decepticon Tyrant. Super Megatron's alternate modes include a spaceship and a tank, both of which are also apparently very customizeable in appearance and load-out. The Super Megatron Omega face is a reference to Megatron's battle mask in the live action Transformers: The Last Knight movie. This figure is due out in Japan any day now and should be shipping from Hasbro Pulse for U.S. buyers by the end of September 2020. Enjoy the review for yourself below.

Have you already pre-ordered Super Megatron for your own collections? If not, has this in-hand review convinced you to track one down? Let us know in the discussion forum, and as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news in all things Transformers!

Really??? With all that struggling the reviewer had to do I hope Megatron comes with a shoe horn. :-P I will have zero intention swapping faces on this Megatron.

Regardless on the what this Megatron represents I STILL SAY the tip of his weapon barrel should have matched the paint on his legs...'nuff said! :VEHI:

That means the screw mount or mushroom peg thos is swivelling on is too tight and needs to be a tick and a hair longer to allow the spin, but I agree with Decepticon Stryker that the premise of the engineering was a beautiful design that should y not be forgotten.

Part of me was starting to regret the pre order. I am not in any way connected to the Japanese lore behind this, but man is this a sweet looking Megatron, and even eithout the face this still gives me "Generations Movie Megatron" vibes and I am back on board for this.

I'm actually excited for tomorrow's TF Tuesday on Pulse, and the next one as well. Since pretty much everything leaked or speculated has been revealed, even if these are toys I'm not interested in, it will nice to be surprised with something new.

I'm in the same boat, I like surprises.

Although, just saying, it would be really awesome to actually have somethink like a SS Selects figure, or even a Cyberverse one. Like maybe a SS Skywarp from Blitzwing to complete the main seeker trio as completely different molds, or one of the Constructicon repaints from RotF, a Nightwatch Optimus Prime, something like that. And Cyberverse wise, how about a Megatron X or Dark Hot Rod?

Is that too much to ask?
