New In hand Images of Transformers Generations Selects Buzzsaw

Posted by william-james88 Dec 30, 2021 at 12:50pm CST 69,199 views
Yesterday, we had an image of upcoming Generations Selects Buzzsaw, Nightprowler and Guard. Today, we have more images that seem to be taken from the same spot but all focusing on Buzzsaw. Buzzsaw is a redeco of Waspinator with a new head. It is the same head found on the original toy's packaging and it represents the Robot head of the mold (the head on the Waspinator toy reflects the Mutant head instead). This being a Generations Selects release, it will not be exclusive but will be predominantly found online.

Let us know what you think.

Original toy and packaging:

Might have been an interesting repaint/remold, but considering how horribly Kingdom Waspinator holds together, it's an easy pass.

You must do something wrong because my Waspinator is rock solid in both modes.

Sounds like either tolerances are inconsistent between copies, or how much force people use is.

Still, is it me, or does Buzz Saw's head look a bit too... organically detailed? I know, it's the original box art, but that worked for WC Blackarachnia. Here, not so much.

All 3 of my waspinators had the same waist issue. I really hope this guy doesn't have the same problem

Buzz Saw's "ears" look bigger than on the original.

OR...maybe you got lucky with a rare properly functioning copy. Mine has garbage waist connection as well.

Regardless, that Buzz Saw looks really good.

If the Waspinator complaints are supposedly more common than not, I guess I also fall into the minority with Kanra, my Waspinator is great.

Same, I bet they made a production run change, but it was super late into the figures run, I say wait for in-hand comments about it before consigning it to oblivion

I actually just picked up Waspinator tonight, and I guess I'm also in the minority, as my Waspy's waist seems to hold together ok. Maybe universe doezzn't always hate Wazzpinator...

Maybe there was a running change? :-?

We had images of upcoming Generations Selects toys the other day, which included Nightprowler, a redeco of Cheetor based on a redeco of the original toy that was planned but was never released. Those images obscured the head and while it wouldn't leave much of an enigma for most redecos, the Kingdom cheetor mold has 2 designated heads, a robot head and a mutant head. And the original Nightprowler was only ever shown twice, one with his robot head and another time with his mutant head (image shown below). So, it could have gone either way. Well, now this image below shows that Nightprowler will come with the Cheetor robot head.

This toy will be coming out sometime next year but won't be exclusive to any store, although it will be more easily accessible through online channels.

I just wish it would have been another color than yellow for the robots bits.

Not the only time. The first time showed Nightprowler's robot head:

He'll probably look better in person, the two tone gray is hardly noticeable in photos. Would have preferred more paint in the arms and legs, especially when Buzzsaw seems to have a premium paint job with that nice fade in the legs and possibly a black paint wash on the wasp eyes. Brighter bot eyes would have been nice, too, but maybe that's also just the photos, remember how BB Kup's eyes looked in initial photos?

I may end up getting gray Cheetor anyway. Might as well fully commit getting all the pussycats.

His deco would really pop more if his gray had been blue like the Universe test shot. As is, he looks so drab.

Maybe Hasbro will troll us 1 more time and release a Selects version with the blue and gray inverted.

I'm fairly certain the "blue" tint to the gray is the lighting and not the actual color of the plastic, especially since it looks gray in the other photo.

It would also help if they used yellow plastic or paint for the upper part of the pelvic area which just looks terrible here.
