I just dont see whats so alluring about these guys. And whats the point behind them? Well other than hasbro making more money by slapping all there major brands on em.

The concept isn't all that different from the Robot Heroes line... barely poseable non-transforming 'cute' renditions of a large number of characters. That said... they just don't seem to have the charm that the RH line does, at least for me. I will probably be torn about getting the metallic Prime at Comic-Con... but so far, the Mighty Muggs line isn't all that interesting.

Unless I can find a Lando Calrissian someday. That Mighty Muggs figure is full of win.

I have the set and I love them...Yes they're pointless but they are still very nicely made and look great! Soundwave wins for me because he has the screw-head painted on the back of his head...

Can't WAIT for Shockwave!

With my area Targets clearancing their TF Mighty Muggs, does this mean that line won't be carried forward thru the ROTF stuff?

I know the SW Muggs will eventually become TRU exclusives, but I was really hoping the Muggs Jazz and SW were going to come out at some point.

I read that ALL Muggs are going to be TRU exclusives...That could be wrong...But that's what I read...

I don't know exactly what it is about the Mighty Muggs but I absolutely love these things. I've really wanted to buy some non-TF ones such as the Hulk, Iron Man or Thing but I've stuck to my guns on only buying TF related toys. I'm just happy to have this style of toy in my hands at last.

Megatron is probably my least favorite and Soundwave or Starscream might be my favorite so far, though I think they're all gems. I can't wait to get my hands on Shockwave ... he's the epitome of what makes these figures and their stylistic paint jobs such a win with me.

I hope this line continues and I'm still hoping that we might get some figures such as Bludgeon, Thunderwing or some other beloved characters that haven't had their time in the spotlight recently. Bludgeon would be really awesome like this ... hell, any of the Pretenders would be for that matter.

For those of you that wish I'd be spending my time working on regular TF figures instead of products like Might Muggs or Robot Heroes, I'll be launching 6 ROTF galleries over the course of the next week just for you. ;)

The only real data has come from Hasbro within Q&A sessions about SW items. Many people have stated the same thing - that all the Mugss are going to TRU exclusives. However, in the context of SW items, when Hasbro stated all, they meant all of the SW Muggs; they never elaborated about the other ones. Nothing has been confirmed about the Marvel, TF, or Joes Muggs. Given that the TF Muggs are not at my local Walmart, are being clearanced at my local Targets, and are moderately carried at my TRUs - I would guess they (and the other non-SW lines) might die off completely.

I've been the same way...There are several Marvel ones I've looked really hard at but made myself resist...And everytime I see the GIJoe ones (esp. Snakes Eyes and Storm Shadow) I have to pretty much put my hands in my pockets to keep from grabbing them and running to the registers... :P

I agree with that about 1000%...I know Shockwave is going to be my favourite when I get him!

Here's an oldie for you all. In the run up to the new toy releases, Ryan has been able to catch up on some of the older galleries that still needed uploading - so take a look at some Transformers Mighty Muggs, both from retail and the San Diego Comic Con Exclusive of 2009 and 2010! In case it wasn't clear from the images below, the Mighty Muggs are superdeformed non transformable characters, from a range of incarnations of the franchise. We bump this very old thread for a recent bit of news from Hasbro and our friends at the US Patent and Trademark Office: the Transformers company has registered for the Mighty Muggs brand once more! They've applied for the logo itself, under the category of 'Toy action figures and accessories for use therewith; collectible toy figures' in an attempt to find that little corner in the market currently dominated by Funko, probably.

Enjoy looking at out previous galleries of Mighty Muggs Transformers in the gallery section as linked below... and Rom the Spaceknight.

Coming from ScreenRant we have learned the first details about the relaunch of the Mighty Muggs toy line for Transformers. As you know Mighty Muggs are the super deformed and simplified figures Hasbro used to produce for a variety of their lines ranging from Star Wars to Transformers. Here we get a little look at what is in store for us in the future when these things make a bold return to stores. Hasbro released the following information regarding the line's status:

Get ready to turn heads with TRANSFORMERS MIGHTY MUGGS Figures. Call it a moodswing, or call it a moodSPIN, these TRANSFORMERS MIGHTY MUGGS figures feature a push-and-turn mechanism that lets fans change the figure’s facial expression by pushing down on the head. With 3 different expressions and classic character designs, these figures will have fans doing a triple take. Characters include BUMBLEBEE, OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON and more. Each sold separately. Available at most major retailers and on HasbroToyShop.com.

Looks like a fun improvement on the original concept. If they make an animated Blitzwing I'm in.
