It's like this season has been dumbed down. Pretty much over it.

I agree with this sentiment. I haven't even watched past "The Great Divide" but the episodes I did see felt rather cheap and second-rate. Like, the show wasn't anything amazing to begin with, but to go from the Starscream arc (which had its own couple of piece-of-sh*t episodes in "Strongarm's Big Score" and "Pretzel Logic") to these episodes which only have so much density to them as if they were written on a 10-minute break, it indicates to me that something's slipping behind the scenes. I sense these writers are either getting another Beast Hunters shoved up their ass here (in which case, seriously, f*ck Hasbro), or they've truly dried up in the ability to write anything remotely standard in quality.
You know your show's jumping the shark when My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is airing alongside it and feels like it's got a more competent writing staff.

FIM's been airing for seven years now. They've obviously been doing something right.
And I actually enjoyed this episode. Slashmark was powerful and competent, just the kind of enemy Team Bee needs to fight more often. And I'll admit, the whole "body switch" thing has been done to death, but it was handled pretty well here.

They're not, really. The only thing keeping that show going is it's rabid adult fanbase chucking money at it, which is why Hasbro hasn't reinvented MLP's wheel a fifth time. I've been rewatching the show episode-by-episode for the past two years and the only season with consistent writing quality is season two. With every other season, it's good episode followed by bad episode followed by mediocre episode followed by good episode, because they've got 19,000 writers and a very loose direction for the show, so you're getting out of character moments, forced morals, rushed pacing, and sometimes stupid conflicts left and right. Compared to most shows I watch, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is on a relatively low rung due to its overall inconsistent quality.
But they even still have managed to keep the show moving forward with at least the bare minimum of standard writing for longer than two seasons. Robots in Disguise is prematurely running out of steam, and I wonder if that's studio conflict like Transformers: Prime and Transformers Animated or if the writers are truly getting lazy. The pessimist in me likes to pin this on the writers.

Grimlock acquires uncontrollable superspeed, which proves to be a problem when the Autobots have to deal with a revenge-minded Simacore and his army of Mini-Con clones.

It also lists a third upcoming episode called "Guilty as Charged", but which has no airdate yet, only a description:
Strongarm worries that her Academy classmate Chicane may still harbor a grudge, but when a powerful foe comes after her old friend, Strongarm and the Bee Team put their sparks on the line to protect her.
TFWiki has this one listed as the very next episode, but I'd have to look into where they got that or if it's just a guess. Otherwise, it'll need to be corrected.

Yeah, this was the "third" episode i was talking about. Curious, though. Why the almost... three week? break?

Yup it is Blastwave but his toy doesn't look like him.
It was also confirmed on Twitter by one of the guys who worked on the show that Bludgeon is a toy only character and will not appear on the show.
Can't remember the guy's name right now but i think it was Adam.

The episode count (if true) gives us the first hint at more episodes to come. We knew season 4 would have 26 episodes, but that only gives us a total episode count of 71. Hasbro instead writes a total count of 78 episodes, so there are 7 episodes beyond season 4. Maybe this will be similar to that Starscream arc made up of only 6 episodes.
Here is the previously mentioned synopsis:
Combine and conquer Season 4 with your favorite Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Bumblebee’s rogue team of young Autobots increases their sphere of influence and their fight against the Decepticons from the Antarctic to the moon! Whether handling road races or runaway trains, fugitives or viruses, this team is out of the shadows and ready to combine and conquer! Blurr Roll into adventure with new teammates and your favorite Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

Also, whoever wrote it snuck in a few episode titles in there ("Sphere of Influence", "Out of the Shadows").

Though, the repetition of "combine and conquer" is a little odd, as is calling Bumblebee's team a "rogue" team.

a now removed instagram post from Tim Cahill, confirming a Fourth Season is in the works
He's a Hasbro studios writer.
Plus I have it under very good authority that the voice cast was also given the info that the starscream episodes were season 3.
Anyways, watching the new episodes and I realized that Blastwave is using the Megatronus model so an accurate toy should have been a redeco of Megatronus and not Bludgeon.

A similar thing happened back with Beast Wars in which Doug Parker (Terrorsaur's voice actor) once mentioned (at a time before Season 2 premiered) his having recorded Terrosaur lines for "Season 3" of that show when Terrorsaur died in the first episode of Season 2.william-james88 wrote:But people part of the show did call it season 4. remember this?a now removed instagram post from Tim Cahill, confirming a Fourth Season is in the works

I'm pretty sure it's just a reference and a name-drop -- RiD's been fond of those lately. Maybe, but especially since we don't see much of Cybertron in this series; don't hold your breath.

Nightra was lying about his escape, since he's the bounty hunter after her and not vice versa like she initially claimed.Stuartmaximus wrote:Hold on? did Nitra just say that Blastwave escaped from Trypticon prison? does this mean that we might see Trypticon in this?(kinda like we saw Metroplex & Fort Max in TF Animated)
As for Trypticon Prison, since the Nemesis was made from Trypticon, who in turn was originally made from Trypticon Station, it's possible that this Trypticon Prison is the Nemesis having been refitted into a prison after it was downed in Predacons Rising.

Yeah I'm going with the whole "turning the dead spaceship into a prison" although it's likely grounded and on Cybertron there is a possibility that the Nemesis was fixed and is now a mobile prison ship like the Alchemor.
If that's the case how long before Trypticon crashes here to eh?

I mean with season two there were obviously two directions (Team Bee and away missions with Team Prime)...
But this season...I don't know...It appears just random stuff goes on, then at the end you are reminded...Hey The Stunticons are out there, and Hey Soundwave is collecting Decepticon Hunters for some reason... To what end?
It clearly appears there are two separate threads to this season, and they don't mesh well together, and it shows. Also I think the idea of slowly revealing your adversary is a novel idea, but we are 13 episodes in, No Menasor, and they haven't figured out the whole BB combiner thing yet...its getting old, especially for a kids show where you want the action to be up front and fast. I think the slow reveal of a complex Combiner team would have been great on Transformers: Prime, but on this show it just isn't working. Also I immensely miss Optimus Prime, what the heck is going on with his "Investigation"...I definitely want to see some of that, but perhaps that will be the 7 episode "finale" or whatever is planned...
I guess I'm just a bit spoiled. season 2 was a bit underwhelming, then we had that amazing 6 episode Starscream Arc. I guess just a general lack of interest in this show makes it seems more like chore now, then something fun I should look forward to when new episodes come out.
On a positive note, I'll give kudos to the show for introducing Blastwave the first Transformer to use Sign Language. My daughter thought this was especially neat as she is learning ASL.
