The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

I gave the film 4\10 and that was being kind. Another movie that features humans doing stuff with a bit of robot action now and then. Another movie where prime spouts 'I'll kill you'. Absolute crap. At least the scenery was nice. The Transformers are simply throw away items to these films.

Collider posted some new concept images from Transformers: The Last Knight. In it is an interesting take on the gladiatorial arena from what possibly is Kaon between both Optimus Prime and Megatron fighting in said area. Which is a change up because Optimus wasn't a gladiator to begin with! The article is worth checking out for the concept art pieces alone, but it offers insight into the special features of the discs too as a refresher.

Click the above image to head on over to Collider and check out their article as well as the accompanying gorgeous concept art created for the fifth installment!

That wouldn't make sense to be a flashback shot since Megs and Prime are both in their newer modes. Yeah, I know, "nothing makes sense in Bayverse" is what SOMEONE is gonna say, but I wonder if they were gonna have Megs and Prime duke it out on Cybertron at some point and that got cut from the script. I could see Megs arranging that with Quintessa because he'd love to put Prime there for a 1 vs 1. Missed opportunity for sure.

Since this is concept art, it seems more likely that the designer just grabbed a couple of random character models as an example.

My theory is that Optimus would have returned to Cybertron after TF4 and would have been force to fight in a gladiator arena.

Thanks to an article posted on SyFy, we have a bunch of new concept art from Transformers: The Last Knight for you to check out! Among the new art pieces shown off are a Samurai-styled Knight with a wicked spiked sword, another shot of the Arena where previous art showed Optimus and Megatron standing, which was likely a cut section dealing with gladiatorial combat on Cybertron at some point, and some more images of Cybertron and Megatron meeting with TRF. Check out the art below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Man, I can't shake the feeling that the "BG Building Concept v004" looks a lot like a sideways, half-buried Quintesson ship. I mean knowing this movie, it's absolutely a coincidence, but an interesting one nonetheless.

That "arena" is part of the interior of the Guardian Knights' ship. That Optimus and Megatron were shown fighting each other there in another art piece suggests that their brief fight on top of the ship in the movie may have originally been set inside the ship instead.

Furio has posted another Concept piece of the Knights this time it's the one that inspired the toy of Steelbane although this look itself never made it into the movie.

Since this is the only new thing I'm going to post some of the other Knight's of Iacon concept art.
The leader Knight which inspired the toy of Stormreign who is one half of Leader Dragonstorm, beside being red he doesn't look like this much in the actual movie.

This is one of the "generic" ones with a unused helmet design that seems to have inspired Drgonicus the other half of leader Dragonstorm

Cool helmet guy who basically looks like this in the film besides maybe some minor differences.

Don't think this design was in the film but he looks cool.

Helmet for many knights such as the small green Talisman knight from the beginning of the movie.

A Samurai knight (From Josh Nizzi instead of Furio) interestingly enough it seems like the shoulder armor inspired the red knight's shoulder armor in the movie which is pretty much the only unique thing about him in the movie besides his armor color
This one was one of many rough sketches from Wesley Burt not sure if anything about this is in the final designs but he looks cool and kinda looks like he could of been one of the many other Knights outside the main 12 (Green knight, Skullitron) maybe an Alpha Trion type.

Here is a screenshot of some of the final knights for comparison.

Watching the opening again, i realised the red knight isn't part of dragonstorm. He's still talking to merlin and hands him th staff after dragonstorm is already airborne. Maybe he really is scorn who later was captured by lockdown?

That screenshot from the movie takes place during the modern day and not the past, the guy ain't Scorn.
The Knights are said to be 12 guys and not including green knight who is established to be seperate 3 were killed yet they still become Dragonstorm so I believe that you don't need all 12 to form him especially how they transform into him "ksi" style.
Plus knights of Iacon are not the same knights that The Dinobots and Prime are part of.
I don't see how any one thinks he is Scorn since the only things they share are red armor and even then in different shades their also different heights that's like thinking Canopy is Bumblebee just because their both yellow...oh wait people did think that.

Awesome analysis of the designs, Deadput! That was really cool to read where each design came from and where it went (and/or didn't go) in the movie proper
I mean speaking from a rational point of view, in terms of the intent of the movie itself, he's just a generic character who was never intended to be anyone or ever appear or matter again. Outside of that and especially from a toy design perspective, I can definitely see him inspiring/being inspired by Scorn, particularly the new Voyager toy. Check it (embedding this again for the second time in three posts, sure why not):

Those shoulders seem pretty distinctly Scorn-like to me, I can see where the wide semi-rectangular chest became/came from Scorn's toy(s), the hip-armor is very similar in general design, long pointy crotch-armor, general shape of the calves and the pointy-toed boots (albeit not pointing upward like Scorn's). I could even see where those pointy bits on either side of the helmet's chin could've become Voyager Scorn's weird dumb Kronk chin.
Personally what I think is most likely, is the following: Hasbro wanted to make a toy of the red knight because they thought it'd be somewhat marketable (and let's be honest, if they decided to make multiple Berserker toys but nothing of say, Onslaught, they're not exactly basing their decisions on screentime here). They didn't have an altmode or really anything definite so they noticed the concept art's similarities to Scorn, decided that'd work, slapped some dino kibble on the concept-art guy, gave him a half-melted version of Scorn's head and called it a day. Makes more sense than Scorn getting a Voyager-class toy for literally no reason, especially one that's still red when all the other Dinobot toys were toned-down silvers, browns and blues.
But hey what do I know, I'm just some guy with too much spare time to overthink things and way too many toys

Oh. Didn't realise that was Red Knight in your screen shot. Was on the phone when I looked at that, small screen.
Oh well. Would have been a nice talking point.
How do we know they are two different Knights? What are the Dinobots and Prime from then?
Canopy is yellow? It's like the reverse G1 Constructicons. Haha. I always see them as yellow, and I thought Canopy was green.
Yes, I can totally see Red Knight being a Pre-Dino Scorn. Thank you for putting in words what I was seeing, with the design cues. And we don't know when he got his dino mode. Yes, he is intended to be generic Red Knight and nothing more, but sometimes, it's fun to make theories up about random stuff. After all, why else would we be on a discussion forum?

Totally agreed - discussion is the root of all... something. Knowledge? Entertainment? I really should've planned my pithy saying in advance...
(I'm also probably gonna headcanon red-knight-dudeman as Scorn even if it doesn't quite make sense, 'cause I like the idea and hell, the movies themselves don't always make a lotta sense either
