Official Images of Transformers Studio Series Voyager Class Optimus Prime, Bonecrusher and Leader Class Jetfire

Posted by ZeroWolf Oct 26, 2018 at 4:21pm CDT 42,343 views
To go along with the reveals of Studio Series 07 movie Optimus Prime and Bonecrusher, we now have the official images from Hasbro's presentation! These are both Voyager scale, and while Optimus Prime is a retool of the already released RotF Optimus Prime, Bonecrusher is a completely new mold, and the pair of them look ready to throw down like that iconic scene in the 2007 live action movie. These were revealed at Comic Con Paris.

UPDATE:

We now have an official image for Leader Class Jetfire showing off this versions alt mode, this also comes from the same presentation that revealed 07 Prime and Bonecrusher.

These images can also be found on the Transformers Facebook page.

Also fellow Seibertron user Evasion Mode Bumblebee, has been kind enough to point out some of the changes between the two Optimus Prime releases. It's also believed that 07 Prime has been altered to combine with the Leader Class Jetfire revealed earlier, and who you can see again in the picture above.

Evasion Mode Bumblebee wrote:- New SS Prime has tabs on his forearms, probably for Jetfire combination

- Obvious chest remolding

- Fuel tanks appear to be remolded

- Back piece / truck top on old SS Prime (where the swords can plug into in robot mode) is new, doesn't have the ports for the swords and can instead split into different pieces for more robot-mode accuracy.

- Lower pieces on the truck mode grill for new SS Prime are new, appear to be hinged and can seemingly separate from the rest of the grill.

- (This is the one I just noticed) - New SS Prime doesn't have the red pieces on his thighs that the upper tires are attached to - the tires now sit closer to the leg.

What do you think of these? Will you be double dipping on Prime? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

Interesting. Bonecrusher still looks like he’s carrying a lot of vehicle kibble on his forearms, but at least they seem allocated better and aren’t gangly monstrosities. The size class should help too. I don’t expect him to be huge, but much like Ironhide have his price point go into making him hefty and beefy.

While I don't collect Studio Series (budget reasons, mostly) I can safely that this Bonecrusher looks pretty damn good. If the final figure is anything close to the promo images then this may very well be the definitive Movie Bonecrusher.

Oh hell yes. I AM BUYING ALL THESE TOYS.

I mean I love the current Studio Series Optimus Prime and he's been one of the most fun TF figures I've ever owned. Frickin' love his proportions and posability more than any other Prime. And this new one is even better. The new chest looks great (and yay for blue doors on there this time) and I like how the wheel parts on the upper legs are much more streamlined now too. Also can use the swords from the first one with this one too. And I like how the new backpack isn't so square too. And of course I'll add paint to the new one and buy another set of Toyhax Studio Prime stickers to add the flames. :D

Jetfire looks far better than his old toy and still combines with a Prime? Great. :D

Bonecrusher. Yep, he's fine. Voyager class. Good good. :D

BUt man, that Prime is gorgeous. Everything I love about the current figure but even better! Still puzzled as to why Hasbro's paint budget doesn't extend to robot mode flames anymore but yeah Toyhax helps there. I neeeeeed these. :D

looks like i have been rewarded for waiting on studio series prime and not buying the wave 1 version. so far may very well buy all of the ones revealed here, jetfire looks way better than the original, so that + blackbird = buy. prime's chest and over all look is better, so i'll gladly buy him. bonecrusher is just....YES. can't wait to see more pics of megatron :D

Sweet. OP looks way better than the previous version, although if it's the same mold he's probably still a touch too short IMO.

Bonecrusher looks to be a huge improvement over the deluxe, althought that's kind of faint praise since the deluxe was terrible. Arms still look really weird on this version for some reason. Hope he's pretty big to make up for no accessories.

Jetfire looks OK, love the axe. Still looks really panelformer like the original, hopefully he's way easier to transform and combine than that version.

From what I remember from the movie, Bonecrusher was either the same size or slightly smaller than Optimus. I'd say he's probably gonna be the size of Titans Return Cerebros. Of course, his legs are bent, so he might be taller when standing straight.

I still cna't get over how great the new chest is on Prime. I dunno how it transforms and fits into the transformation compared to the first release but it's so much better. Both in removing the middle joint bit and how the door bits are now overlapping the red windows to some extent whereas on the first version they basically sit next to them. Man, I'm more excited for a retool of one of my fave recent figures than I am for any other upcoming action figure. :P

One note as pointed out by Quantum_Surge to me on Twitter is that the red parts on the lower legs that folded over when the wheels were rotated up to the thighs no longer seem to fold on the new figure. Like I told them, it doesn't bother me that much cos the wheels themselves still move correctly (and the ones above are now aligned with them) but it's still worth pointing out.

Jetfire does look panel-former-y, but more along the lines of the way he did in the movie. He's probably going to have some robot junk showing in the undercarriage but nowhere near as bad as the RotF Leader (for one thing, his legs actually turn into the engines). Based on the lack of a seam in his head and a seeming lack of faux-Blackbird nose halves elswhere... I would lay odds that he does not combine with Prime. And yay for the axe!

Speaking of, the revamped Optimus is an enormous improvement. They fixed the flat chest.

DotM Megatron being a Leader-class figure would seem to wreck the robot mode scale the series has been going for (unless properly transforming him fixes that), but there's an upside: He would be able to work better with older toys as a stand-in for the DotM Leader Megatron we never got because they gave us a @!#$ing leader Bumblebee instead.

Jetfire does combine with Prime, specifically the 07 prime (which is odd as the combination happened in RotF)

The forearm panels look shorter on the new one too. They seem to go as high as just above the elbow joint on the new figure whereas on the current one they almost go as high as the bottom of the shoulder pads. Not sure if that's actually new size or just a perspective thing. Either way both are way better than the damn forearm panels of the Battle Blades mold that heavily get in the way of the arm articulation on that figure.

Anyways I love these new reveals and I have money here for all of them when Hasbro decide it's time to give these to us. I'm off to bed now. Gotta do two performances of the play I'm in tomorrow (ugh I hate matinees) so I need rest and yay more awesome Studio figures to look forward to in 2019! :D Goodnight. :michaelbay:

ZeroWolf, the only difference between '07 and ROTF Prime in the movies is more weathering in robot mode in ROTF. That's it. :-P So this one works just as well as an ROTF Prime. I would hope it comes with two guns and not just the one shown, but it's not a strong hope since even the bloody Masterpiece toy screwed that up.

Yeah, I missed that the first time I looked at page 127. Although are we 100% sure that is Jetfire and not an add-on pack?

Frankly, I would rather see an official Jetpower add-on pack for Prime (like the unfortunate Jetwing add-on for the DotM retool of ROTF Leader Prime) since you could never hope to make a Jetfire that turned into an accurate Jetfire and accurate Jetpower armor because of the leg extensions.
That said, due to the "Obligatory 3l3c7r0niX!!1!!!" phase being over except for Titan-class citybots, if that is Jetfire there it'll be less of a mess than the original.

Because DOTM Megs isn't just a truck the size of prime, it is a truck and trailer which would take up at least twice the volume when the trucks were in scale with each other.

Edit: I'd love to see some side by side shots of Prime and Megs in truck modes for comparison.

They are different types of trucks.

Prime is a Peterbilt cab, while Megatron is old timey Mack Cab.

In reality, a Peterbilt Cab is about .75% the length of a Mack Cab + Tanker.

Basically what you are saying is a Truck that is normally 25 feet long should be larger than a Cybertronian Tank, and a Helicopter (Blackout) that in real life is 88ft long.

You're missing the point.
MEGATRON IS NOT JUST A CAB, HE'S ALSO A FREAKING TRAILER

Bunch of size comparison charts I Googled say he's about 25 feet tall, so slightly shorter than OP (28 feet) and same height as Brawl.

This is the one case I'm hoping they ignore the size chart and actually make him the same size as OP or bigger, partially because I think SS OP is too short, and partially because I'll probably use him with my movie 1 and RotF toy display, and those are all WAY bigger than the SS toys.

Well it looks like I'll be making my first SS purchase with Jetfire. Although I am confused...why would they have him combine with Movie 1 Prime? Shouldn't it be with the RotF Prime which is currently out?

Also I do see there are some technical differences with the current RotF Voyager, and this new Movie 1 Prime, but they really didn't change in between films. I never thought I'd say this, but this is one time it should have been a straight up repaint, but it wasn't ...how very odd. But Still I'm glad. This is one I was hoping would happen. The other, being Devstator...I know is going to be more complicated, if ever done :-s

I'm really only doing 2007 movie figure. All things considered I have alot of nostalgia for the hype around the movie, the excitement, the fanboyoutrage, crazy weird toys after Galaxy Force. Seeing that Studio Series bonecrusher and comparing it my 11 year old Jungle bonecrusher really makes me excited. Though I will say not sure if i'll double dip on prime just for a slightly more more movie accurate chest, gun, and brighter color pallet. I might totally get Jetfire, I totally missed out on the ROTF one, plus it's always nice to get another Blackbird robo!

Because he combines with Jetfire they retooled bits to make him do that and to be closer accurate to the movies

Since they already sold a ROTF Voyager Optimus that didn't combine with Jetfire, they probably just rebranded him to differentiate the old one and this one to the stores that buy them.
