Hello everyone large and small, and welcome to another Seibertron.com pictorial review session! Today, we will be taking a close look at the 2 new Warrior class figures of the Robots in Disguise line: Blurr and Soundwave!

To begin, we will look at Blurr.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

This figure is supposed to represent the Rescue Bots version of Blurr as he becomes the first Rescue Bot character to cross over into the more advanced toylines. Now mind you he does not look exactly like the character people came to love in Rescue Bots, but then again, did Sideswipe and Bumblebee look exactly the same between shows?

Overall, this figure does look really cool! His colors are pleasing to the eyes and he does have a pretty well thought out color scheme that makes him look pretty sexy.

Below, you will find a pair of comparisons, one with the Titans Return Hot Rod and the other with Combiner Force Primestrong for size comparisons.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

He stands about your standard height for a deluxe/warrior figure, and his proportions looks similar to Hot Rod's in that the arms feel a bit too long and the shoulders a bit too high. But overall he still looks good.

His blaster is fairly cool looking, though the translucent plastic used for it would have been better in an actual solid blue, at least to me.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Inspired by Seibertronian Mr.Black, he can also cast a great running pose!

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

His backpack kind of keeps to itself, though it basically is a big, smooth, mostly translucent backpack. But it stays out the wave and doesn't hinder articulation at all, so it's no biggie.

LIGHTPIPING!!!!

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

His Transformation is simple yet fun and intuitive. Despite the robot mode look, he does not share any sort of Transformation trick with Prime Wheeljack.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

The alt mode looks really good too. A sleek and sexy car that really looks like it can move fast. He looks really good next to Titans Return Hot Rod in this mode too. I wish something could have been put in the cockpit area since you can see right through it to his legs and the ground between his legs, but that's a minor quibble.

Now onto Soundwave:

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

This figure has been pretty hyped up, and I can see why. It is a pretty swell figure! The robot mode looks really cool, all beefy and brawny. He really uses his War for Cybertron design here, and it looks really good with the Prime headsculpt.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Now, something I will point out is that he really looks like a Prime Breakdown. Just looking at him next to Breakdown, they looks very similar. They even share locations of where their parts end up! If this character could get a repaint, Breakdown would be a Prime suspect! (so sorry)

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

He also looks fun deploying his legion of minions! (sorry, puns are funs). On this note, I will say that his posability in the arms is a bit troublesome. The shoulders really limit his different poses, just as a warning. He also has mid-torso rotation instead of waist rotation, which actually works out pretty well!

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

MOAR LIGHT PIPING!!!!

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Transformation is really interesting and very fun! It is definitely unique and one that is fun to do again and again.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

The alt mode looks pretty good too! Mind you the hands are fully visible, but it isn't really an issue. It looks big and mean and really does show his Highmoon Studios heritage here.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Now mind you, the big appearance is sort of deceiving. The underside ends up fairly hollow, but that is hardly an issue because no one displays their transformers in alt mode upsidedown or on their side.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Once again, you can really see a Breakdown appearance here too, and I would not doubt a retool of Soundwave as Breakdown down the road.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Also of note, his gun is capable of adjusting its angle, so you can not only rotate the gun, but also point it up in the air!

And now the 2 figures together:

Transformers News: Pictorial Review of Robots in Disguise Warrior Soundwave and Blurr

Overall, these are 2 fairly good figures. Now mind you, these are not the Fracture's or the Thunderhoof's or the Bisk's of the line in that they are not completely mind-blowing, but they are both still pretty good. They are worth having for sure. So head on out to your stores and pick up one today!

These figures look like so much fun. The Seibertron gallery should be the way to advertise toys because now I want ones that I didn't think looked cool in the packaging.

Sadly, he is not the standard, he is the best one. I find the rest not as great. The others I like are Bludgeon and Sawtooth since they have both fun robot modes and weapons.

Damn, glad I trusted my intuition and grabbed him then. What about Dragonus? I could have sworn I saw you singing his praises.

They are all fun and I dont regret getting any, but I dont remember praising any of them either.

Now if he could just do that (carry over the gimmick from the RB show) in the RID show. Bonus points if he deliberately does it to try to annoy Sideswipe. :P

The Blurr that comes with Rescue Bots Optimus shares the Blue colour scheme I notice - if the RID line is still around a few more waves I'd love to see them make the next batch in purple though - just so people have the option.

Well I finally got the 3rd Minicon Boxed set (yay) with Autobot Dragonus, Bashbreaker, Lord Doomitron and Lancelon.

Lancelon is OK a bit short perhaps and the colours don't really go with anything terribly well. But he looks OK enough.

Lord Doomitron is going to get partnered with Bludgeon for sure when I get him as the colours should go really well.

I'm considering buying another Bashbreaker (on a card) to get this one some more armour - he looks a little plain without it.

Autobot Dragonus is a great looking Turret - now I just have to find a suitable vehicle with a 5mm hole in the roof that doens't colour clash with him - he might look nice on Activator Combiner Strongarm or Sideswipe perhaps.

A lot of the things I'd like to use him on though it won't fit due to a lack of suitable 5mm centre port.

I might get him some armour too - if I can find another Dragonus - no easy task as I've only ever seen 1 and I bought it.

I hope I can get them as they look long term useful - especially Decepticon Dragonus & The swords.

The Robots in Disguise Combiner Force Crash Combiner Skyhammer set is being found across the continents. In North America, it has been found in an Ontario Walmart, in Canada, while in Europe, it has been found at Kaufhof in downtown Düsseldorf, Germany. This set features Skysledge & Stormhammer, which become Skyhammer, a new character in the Robots in Disguise cartoon, who we have yet to meet.

The Germany sighting is TFW2005's Nevermore and the Canada sighting is from Cybertron.ca's Downshift.

I now have see if I can find the other missing minicon wave now.

Glacius
Scorch Strike Jetstorm
Ransack

---

I would be interested in any report on the differences in the big gift set of minicons if anyone ever got that as - I noticed some of them seem to have a bit more paint than the other released versions.

For example Bashbreaker has light grey paint on the sides of the hammer. and Tricerashot has extra paint on his face to give a couple of examples.

Because the show versions are in the 4-packs or the Battle Packs in the case of Windstrike and Sawtooth.

Thanks to Seibertronian Bounti76 we have news that the Robots in Disguise Wave 2 Warriors have reached America! Bounti76 purchased Blurr and saw Soundwave and Windblade at the Walmart in Centerville, Utah last night. Skywarp had already warped away before the sighting. With this news that the figures are hitting retail, head on out to your local Walmarts and other toy stores and start hunting! And if you need a little help deciding on whether or not to pick up Blurr and Soundwave in particular, check out our pictorial review!

Same, I found part of the wave at Toys R Us 2 days ago and the whole wave at Target. Only really wanted Soundwave since I was buying a bunch of Lego Star Wars stuff too, but I got to pick between two and one had a much better paint job than the other.

I think he's/they are going to show up this week by the looks of the UK stores putting listings up for them with coming soon - I was hoping for a Activator Combiner Sideswipe too - I think the smarter thing to do would have been to offer a revision case instead of these single character editions - they make finding things kinda tricky and make things hang around way to long.

So I feel pairing Sideswipe and Soundwave Activator Combiners would have made better sense for a market like Europe.

Likewise the Optimus & Luna Strongarm would have been better released with Skyhammer.

I'm rather irritated by the missing Warrior Wave with Bisk & Ratchet
& Scatterspike in it - as well as how hard it is to get Legion Blurr and Legion Bisk too.

But the rumour is a lot of stuff is due to land on or around the 24th April. (Strange date) I'd think they'd want them out for Easter Saturday or Monday or before Good Friday even.

--

But on a positive note for those lamenting how small Megatronus was Wei Jiang is doing a overscale version of the Warrior Class soon :

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachmen ... .27706401/

(Behind the Combiner Wars stuff) A nice complement to the existing RID overscale Grimlock and Optimus too).

They usually get made in Plastic and part Metal versions too.

I hope they make Bludgeon too and that he's not all on his own - as Thunderhoof, Scatterspike or Quillfire would be great bigger too - Heck even Windblade might be nice in a bigger scale too !

There's two ways to do this: 1) on the main forum next to the title of the topic there's a little orange box that will take you right to the first unviewed post. 2) Within the topic there's a button next to the page count that'll do the same thing.

Subscriptions tend to fall off sometimes. It happens to all of us. I've inquired as to why, and there has been no clear cut answer. I've found the easiest way to reactivate a preexisting subscription is to simply visit the thread. You don't even have to post.

I thought that Canadian and US dollars were of similar value.

But even for 15$ I think most people would choose a deluxe or something from one of the other lines.

... for the low price of $5!

These were found at Preston Village in Frisco, TX, just off TX121/Sam Rayburn Tollway and Preston Road, and they had plenty in stock. Shame they only had one particular 4-pack, wish they had the second one too.

The second 2017 wave of Robots in Disguise warrior figures (or wave 11 for those keeping track) was found in Canada this Easter week-end. This is the wave that includes Soundwave, Blurr, Skywarp as well as a redeco of Windblade with a new face, and a reissue of Grimlock for good measure. They were found at Toysrus in St Bruno, Quebec, but cybertron.ca member innermanchild. These have already found their way to the states but it's nice to see not a lot of time in between sightings between these two neighboring nations.

Oh, so I forgot to bring him back to school with me, but Skyhammer is a great figure and has convinced me the Crash Combiners are a really fun time and not a waste, even though Primestrong convinced me of that already. The jets are fun, the robot modes are eh, but the combined mode and auto transformation are really fun! It is especially fun to mix and match to form SkyPrime and StrongHammer. Really is.

I expect the 3rd Crash Combiner will be available to order next week so I hope I can get one then.

Heck knows where Minicon Activator Sideswipe has got to though in the UK.

No, those toys arent synched with other waves. Sideswipe is already out in places, like canada. Soundwave will come after.

All three are next to eachother at my toysrus. Its like the crash combiners who are all together at the same time. I dont think they are meant to replace eachother on the shelves.
