Do any of you wish to own an MP 09 Masterpiece Rodimus Prime (Convoy)? Well, if you do, you are in luck because he will be getting rereleased by Hasbro Asia at the end of the year. Just to be clear, we are talking about the initial Rodimus Masterpiece toy, the one as big as MP 10 (which defined the scale for the current Masterpiece line) which can become a space winebago. While Takara may have moved on from the mold, Hasbro Asia assumes there is still demand for it, especially for those who have the latest Hot Rod Masterpiece toy and would wish to own one of his evolved form.

This release will look identical to the previous release, as has been the case with previous Hasbro Asia reissues like Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Soundwave, and includes the fixed knees we saw in that reissue. With the original release, the knees were practically guaranteed to break but the listing states that this release does not have that issue. Several retailers on Taobao are already taking preorders and require a deposit. This toy will probably also show up at domestic collectable vendors as well as it appears to not be exclusive, nor a limited production run.

The knees were the least of the problems with this mold. The Kabaya kit was better.

All the issues with the joints were fixed on the original reissue. Stop spreading misinformation - only the original releases had these problems. The reissue had other problems such as the mismatched trailer colour and still had some paint-rubbing issues, but the joints were fixed.

mmm this was the figure that made me stop collecting MP figures. Was overpriced and plagued with issues. I restarted after they issued wheel jack, smokescreen and sideswipe...

I'm pretty pleased with the latest hot rod mp so this might be a bit extra.. though he now scales nicely with mp 10...

any news on price?

Neat! I'd rather we got a "dedicated" Rodimus Prime MP that ditched the evolution gimmick now we have a standalone Hot Rod, but still, he looks good and if he's fixed the issues with the joints then that's a winner.

I have both releases, and how I'd describe the reissue is "slightly better". But they certainly didn't "fix" all the joint issues. He's just as terrifying to handle

It would have been much nicer to let us know of any corrections by simply contacting us rather than writing hateful speech like the following you wrote elsewhere:

Even those morons on Seibertron are spreading misinformation, saying the knees are guaranteed to break, even though they fixed that and the ankles with the reissue.

So here's my way to get the whole set again!! Hooray!! Just gotta modify my signature to remove the reference to needing an MP9 trailer and I'm good!!

So this would make 3 of them that I'll have?! Excellent. If it's not MP36 price I'll probably get it. PLEASE BE UNDER $200USD!!!!

Finally we can get a decent version of a figure who looked good in all 4(?) modes. Takara's was plagued with issues and Hasbro's wasn't any different either.

Weird. I never had any problems with the knees. I broke an ankle on my Hasbro version, and broke one of the joints on the shin plates on my Takara. But that's it.

Has this been confirmed beyond some Chinese blog?

Imagine using Rodimus Prime (space winebago mode) to go on a leisurely vacation at an uneventful holiday resort. The guy would go stir crazy very quickly!
