It would stand to reason that Devastator with all the joints for the individual bots was a consideration during its design, and later removed to fit's hasbro's needs.
And not that the joints were and afterthought by Takara.

Hasui reported the news himself via Twitter, as you can see embedded below, and is responsible for some of the most successful Transformers figures, from Animated to Masterpiece, and, the reason behind his presence now, Titan class Devastator.I'll attend San Diego Comic-con as designer of Titian Devastator at Hasbro booth. 来週サンディエゴ・コミコンのハスブロブースにタイタンデバスター開発者として参加します。とても楽しみです。#TT_TF

Additionally, the changes made to Hook's and Mixmaster's arms to give them better elbows by adding new elbow joints did not replace the joints that were already created for the Hasbro version, instead keeping the Hasbro elbow joints intact, making their arms now have double-jointed elbows while the other four Constructicons only have single-jointed elbows, further showing that these changes were made after Hasbro's version was done.

Not sure what this has to do with the news of Hasui appearing at SDCC, but the latest issue of Figure King shows the parts altered for Takara's version in the grey prototype stage while the rest of the (unpainted) figure is unchanged from the finalized Hasbro version, showing that the changes were made after the Hasbro version was complete:gavinfuzzy wrote:It would stand to reason that Devastator with all the joints for the individual bots was a consideration during its design, and later removed to fit's hasbro's needs.

Our friends over at WeLoveFine, the fashionwear and accessory website, have notified us of their new Hasbro partnership for San Diego Comic Con 2015 for a couple of printed t-shirts in the 'As Seen on Staff' line - and of course the Transformers feature on one of the sets. Titan Devastator and the three Combiner Hunters take centre stage on this exclusive online purchase, so head over here to order yours, and take a look at the two models below!
We’ve got some SDCC news for you on the Transformers front. We’re releasing a special SDCC “As Seen On Staff” T-Shirt for online purchase only. This “Devastator and the Combiner Hunters” tee will NOT be available at our booth or the Hasbro booth at SDCC. It’s available for both men’s and women’s sizing, and all shirts will begin shipping on Monday 7/13/2015.

This is a pretty fresh shirt.
I dug the KoU shirt from last year and this is easily on par with that.
