Sebertron.com member Cyberpath shared with us a link containing new images of the upcoming Masterpiece Smokescreen and designer Shogo Hasui's thoughts and comments on the figure.

Referring to Smokes' back in the cartoon, which was different than Prowl & Bluestreak's. It always reminded me of a t-shirt tied around a waist.

Bring on Mp Bumblebee and Mp Wheeljack pics. Where they at? That car mode for Smokes looks real good. The best out of the three. The robot mode is least out of the three. Still contemplating on who should I take out the packaging for display, mp Prowl or mp Bluestreak. I would have bought this Smokescreen if Takara didn't make one of his brothers.

Darn, this confirms he doesn't have the regular launchers like the other two. Oh well, dopey-looking shoulder cannons it is, then! I should start calling him Dopescreen. :lol:

He does look a little better posed as opposed to just standing, though. His car mode is totally awesome, so I'll probably keep him like that most of the time anyway.

Smokes is ready to ship. :)

His robot mode looks the way it's supposed to, quite true to the cartoon model.

They did a good job adjusting Smokes from Prowl. I'm still kind of hoping they'll tweak Red Alert just a little bit more.. white thighs, slightly more accurate weapons, but mostly, the shoulders and arms. (Still awesome though!)

I could have done without the "Smoke Tactics" branding on the sides of the rear quarter panels. Also, is it just me, or does the 'non-helmet' type head look a bit odd? It's growing on me, but all the same..?

Probably the best looking out of the three Datsun Masterpiece molds.
Also, gotta love that "SlotFever" on his car mode, referencing the G1 episode "The Gambler". :-B

And "Devcon Oil" likely another reference to the same episode.

It's kind of ironic that they replaced "Bosch" with "Huck" considering that Smokes' partner in The Gambler was named Bosch.

It happened in the early days of the MP line, at least. I don't recall the details but MP-01 had an image of Starscream of all people on his wrist communicator, and before long, MP-SS was announced.

MP Starscream himself included a mounting clip for the gun mode Megs that came with MP-10 as part of his accessories. Certain collectors believe this to be a hint that MP Megatron would be the next announcement. Although it was actually MP-04 Perfect Edition OP that followed, Megatron did indeed make the list later on.

The base that came with the so-called Last Shot MP-01 OP included voice clips by the G1 cartoon's Japanese voice actor, and one of the clips mentions a "rebirth." After MP-10 was announced, some took the last voice clip as a hint to mean that OP was being redesigned from the ground up.

As far as I know, these "hints" seem to have largely disappeared from the later MP toys, with MP-10 giving no hint at all that MP-11 SS would be announced. Nor did MP-11 show any clue of an upcoming MP Lambor or Soundwave.

I could be wrong, though.

I know they might be cartoon accurate but I'm not a fan of the blasters on smokescreen. Will be displaying him without them up.

Ok, even though I asked witch on I should take out the packaging (one), not both, but after weeks of contemplation, I'm deciding to take Prowl out for display. Because I think the cop car Autobot will turn out to be less valuable in the future. He is going to be My second Mp on shelf display :KREMZEEK:

. Mp Tigertrack will no long be solo. Masterpiece sports car Autobot team with those two. :michaelbay:
