Studio Series 86 Arcee Shipping from Amazon + Video Review

Posted by william-james88 Jul 20, 2022 at 8:54am CDT 28,216 views
Amazon has shipped out quite a few new Transformer toy releases recently. One of those is Arcee which has yet to be found at brick and mortar. The fact that Amazon had her in stock and ready to ship means that this wave of toys have landed in the US and should be found at other US retailers soon. Here is a review from fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg1999

chuckdawg1999 wrote:When Studio Series 86 Arcee was originally announced, many fans thought it would be a slight repaint of the current Earthrise mold that has been re-released in the Kingdom line. Well SS86 Arcee is a heavy retool of the older 30th-anniversary mold that results in the best G1 Arcee we've gotten to date, it's by no means perfect though. Transformation is a bit more involved than you would think, especially when you realize that having enough clearance in vehicle mode is a difference of millimeters. Car mode is the closest to the G1 animation I've seen, I'm very impressed with how the designers were able to pull it off. Unfortunately, there is still a sizable backpack to deal with in robot mode, but the joints are tight enough for now to handle it. There are plenty of better Arcee toys, but if you're looking for a pure G1 experience this is the best you can do.

Watched Chucks review, I cant wait to get her!

sol magnus The review of Sludge was fine you could try to pep it up but do what feels natural to you, way too many people put too much annoying inflection and goofiness into their voices when they do youtube reviews. Chuck is natural which is why I like his videos.

I appreciate the feedback. I too hate the manufactured enthusiasm, but I think I can find a happy medium. I expect to have a video of Jhiaxus up in a few days, so hopefully it'll be an improvement.

One thing I can recommend is don't try to force humor, stuff is funnier when it comes naturally.

This right here.
My wife has told me I should try some review videos to see how it goes, I told her because of the way I talk, the inflection and intensity in my voice I might sound too overly aggressive for some. I will say my humor is pretty natural and my actual snarkyness in RL sometimes scares people. I do have an idea what I might try though. Chuck if I do something and upload it I might send you the link to give me your input if you don't mind.

Humor is getting to be a lost art. Being silly is not the same as being funny. Speaking loud, fast & outrageous is not always funny either, but almost always annoying.

I'm glad chuck doesn't do those things. Thanks for the video, chuck!

So I managed to find sludge, and he is not great. His backpack is very heavy, and unfortunately all of his leg joints are either loosely pinned or on soft ratchets that are just no t up to the job of holding him up. Anyone else having this problem?

Either you are overly critical, or you landed a rare lemon.
My Leader Sludge is perfect all over and it may be one of the best leader toy this year in my opinion.

Must've gotten a lemon, which is too bad as it is a good figure

My Sludge has some very loose feeling legs as well
He's able to hold up for now but feels like he's a worn out too already and he's brand new. The bicep swivel is super tight though

The leg fix thing and knee is easy to be honest. I posted a thread here about the upper leg and the knees can be found online.

I could take pix of how to fix the knees and post those if needed.

You should see a doctor about that.

Irregardless of his legs, I do really like Sludge. And I finally found a good place for Hot Rod to go

I display my Hot Rod riding Wreck-Gar all the time, and I peg Hot Rod's guns to act as pedals (stick them below Wreck-Gar's feet). Resting Hot Rod's feet on the pedals offers better stability and looks far more natural too. You can do the same for junkheap, but you'll have to flip the side panels to the front (so those gun barrels points to the front and not as exhaust pipes?), as I still don't have him in hand, so it's a guest.
