Glad we are finally getting this modern interpretation of God Bomber from Masterforce. Next on my wish list would be Masterpiece figures of Victory Leo & Dezaurus.

It's just convenient. That's like asking asking why do people call Optimus just Optimus and not Optimus Prime all the time. Yeah his trailer combining is super Ginrai but still the same dude.

Via a number of Japanese Twitter users - including MKstsk, astalot, jkame2 and Alfes2010 - we have some in-hand images of the Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG-42 Godbomber, both in its trailer and robot modes, plus combined with LG-35 Super Ginrai, to create God Ginrai! Check them out mirrored below.

Looks amazing, as I hoped it would. I really also hope that as speculated, God Bomber will be included as the leader class in one of the two (yet to be revealed) TR box sets.

Also I know its a 3P Overlord in one of those pics...but what is its name exactly?

Those wings still sit way to high up on God Ginrai's back, but other than that, it's gorgeous!

Though, the pic of the little Headmaster dude placed inside the missile launcher did bring back memories of Spock's "Wrath of Khan" funeral.

Also, that gaping mouth box art is so bonkers it's hilarious.

Mastermind Creations Carnifex, based on Overlord's IDW design. However, the one in the picture is using the 'Continuum' upgrade kit (also made by MMC) to make him a bit more geewunny, adding God/Powermasters, a new head, and some other stuff.

That TM storage in the cannon is hilarious.

I just don't get the appeal of that combined mode. It looks awful. Prime/Ginrai looks so much without it. But then Starsaber looks like junk to me too so maybe I'm just not into the japanese cartoon stuff. Keen on getting Magnus Prime when it's out since Ginrai is getting silly monies now.

Just from the pictures it looks like a definite yes. The bit that opens up is the panel over the vents; so everything - seating included - would be stored in there.

Given TT reputation for wanting to make thigns animation accurate, I hope so as well. I only wish one of the pictures above would have shown God Ginrai riding on Fort Max in base mode.

Just paid for mine from HLJ. Came out to around $100AU.

But hey, at least I'll get him within 2 weeks. If I'd supported the local importer, well I might get him in time to discuss him by the end of next year.

The original leak was for the forthcoming Siege on Cybertron set, in which a Deluxe mold named "Iron Apex" was to be included, but which we see has been replaced by the Deluxe Metalhawk figure.

Nah, this is essentially just their way of showing off Godbomber is bizarrely compatible with UW figures. Nothing in here indicates a new combiner - though I wonder if the translation will show anything new...

I suppose that would make sense - Nightbeat was only released as a variation of Minerva in Japan, so that would explain why she looks exactly like Minerva. The plot thickens...

Sakamoto-senpai delivers again. I love the little "Blurr Transport" on the box in that one panel. Also, Godbomber looks like a metric tonne of fun. Violence Foot mode AND Headmaster compatibility fun? Hell yeah!

Oh boy I cannot wait for my Godbomber to arrive. Out of all toys I have and seen I think Godbomber may be the best valued toy. This guy cost me $110AUD and it has Headmaster gimmick, UW/CW gimmick with his two legs swappable with any UW/CW toys, its leader sized with 3 alt modes and can combine with Opti-I mean Super Ginrai.

I wonder if I can turn those thighs downwards when I have Godbomber combined. I could get my 2 Aerialbots and connect it there for extra thrust. This toy has so much play value for its price.

Between this and some of the design cues on Doublecross and Weirdwolf, definitely feels like some pre-plannning for the "animal" combiners like Abominus, Pirhanacon, and Predaking may be going on

Thanks to Twitter user hikui_low, and fellow Seibertronian ScottyP, we have photo proof that Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG-42 Godbomber does indeed allow for Combiner Wars / Unite Warriors compatibility, as shown in the comic scans that came with the figure! Man Godbomber is so versatile, and well designed. If this is not released by Hasbro, I'll definitely be picking up the Takara version.

And when I look at the Titans Return beast figures, I can see where chest pieces could be replaced with combiner ports without too much hassle.

And more food for thought - it's preferred to get a few remolds/repaints out of a figure to get their money's worth, while Weirdwolf and Doublecross have not been remolded (yet).

I'm 100% sure this is becoming road ceaser. Get the CW Menasor cars, give them headmaster ports on the head platforms. ???. Profit.

Meant to come in and clear this up but WeatherManNX01 pretty much nailed it, so thanks for the assist!

In a little more detail, we can look at Weirdwolf:

Does it need remolding? Yes, but if you look carefully, the parts that make the Headmaster attach are a separate piece. Take that out, do some minor rework for the port, add a new head, add Doublecross' arms, do some other minor retooling, then tweak the colors just slightly = oh look, Sinnertwin. Doublecross' body style is very Rippersnapper-like in stature, so again just some arm piece swapping and retooling for the Terrorist Shark head. Need a weird shrimpy body for Blot? Hello, Mindwipe, who also has some stuff one could use on a Cutthroat. The only missing piece is the torso, and boy howdy does Godbomber have a big blocky chestplate like Abominus. Not sure how you'd get a Hun-Grr out of the rest but he is parts-formery, so there's that.

There aren't really pack-in comics for Unite Warriors, just a single image for each set drawn in the same style as the back page of the instructions. That said, it's still Sakamoto doing it and he's tried to make it all work together. An example from the galleries:



Also this latest Legends comic has me wishing I'd picked up the CM Corp Nightbeat version of Minerva back when it was dirt cheap. Just did the regular Minerva and Ginrai releases.

But yeah, I didnt know they were releated, since one takes place in the Legends Universe and the other is a sequel to JG1. So seeing Armada Thrust cross over is fun.
