While the Takara Tomy Transformers/Neon Genesis Evangelion Eva Mode Convoy repaint of MP-10 may already be sold out (though some of our site sponsors still have a handful of orders), another update to the story has been uploaded to the product site! Check out some new artwork of Eva Convoy battling the Angel Starscream, and an attempted translation of the accompanying text.

"How has the human race been able to make such a huge robot?!"
A strange sensation came over Convoy, on seeing the giant figure.
(No... this feeling... not a robot? Seimeinokodou, call this the primitive ...?)
[Convoy Scanning Eva first aircraft to be guided], it suddenly grew in size. Its body and colour changing to match that of the EVA Unit-01.
"Now... now Transformers are... Eva ...?"
Misato of the Nerv staff was stunned by the scene in front of her.

The gigantic Convoy turned to face the Angel Scream, opening its chest armor to increase its cry.
"Uoo O~o~o~o~o Golfo ...!"
The Matrix held in its chest was as red as the core of the Angels, shining as if a new life had been born.
A new battle, a different stage... begins.

If we get a SachielScream I am going to be so happy.

Still kinda disappointed that Spike wasn't remolded/redeco'd into Shinji though. Although I reckon the little Shinji minifigure that comes with the old LMHG Eva 01 plamo (which I am fortunate enough to own) would scale right though. Though as I don't have MP Prime, I can't comment...

Did I just read that right? Optimus scanned Eva01 and is now a gigantic angry truck transformer? I'd hate to be Sachielscream right now... :lol:

Interesting thing about all these TF/EVA stories, chapter 1 had a pic more befitting chapter 2, chapter 2 had a pic more befitting chapter 3, and chapter 3 had a pic more befitting to coming after chapter 3, while no chapter had any pic appropriate for chapter 1.

So the solicitations said only 1000 would be sold in Japan, right?

Do we know how many are being sold in the US, or how big the production run is?

Seeing as it's a Japanese-only figure, I'd guess that the number for units being sold domestically in the US is zero.

Not counting for online importers, of course.

well... this is release month. wonder how much longer....

if they were to continue this line, id totally be down for an angelscream. but i honestly dont see it happening. say, wasnt there supposed to be a repainted eva1 in convoy colors released as well? it was a revoltech or something... havent anything about that in a while.

It's not out, but that's exactly why I want to know... I'm just curious at how many are being produced, and how many of that total production run will be sold in the US. I want to know how 'limited' it really is.

That was a fan custom on display at a con, which some sites mistook for a real figure.

The last we heard the Takara Tomy Transformers/Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover redeco of Masterpiece MP-10 in Unit 01 deco, we saw the third installment of the story accompanying the release. Now, the Takara website has been updated with the fourth episode (in Japanese) - which can be found here - and new artwork. Why? The figure has just been released in Japan to those who preordered this expensive limited edition! Did you get in?
