Yep. And each has a different face for Overlord. A male one called "Overlord Giga (male type)" and a female one called "Overlord Mega (female type)". Mega's face must be the lippy IDW version while Giga's is the more traditional/show-accurate one.

And man, did they really miss the opportunity to do multiple faces with Blitzwing? I was really hoping for his bat-shit crazy face and his DC-Cyborg face from Animated. Urgh.

The purple doesn't bug me so much. It's a bit lighter, but not completely off base like Legends Galvatron. What stands out to me much more in the creamy yellow plastic used instead of the lighter beige of the G1 cartoon, the original toy, and Hasbro's new Titans Return version. It's just a bit too bright and saturated like the color of light brown they used for Legends Hardhead. It's not quite right, but it doesn't look "bad."

Someone at Takara seriously needs to readjust the color settings on their monitor.

That's beside the point I was making. Of course they could have removed it, but they weren't going to.

They've already established that they have no intention of removing the Headmaster gimmick from the toys of characters who weren't originally Headmasters, and have also already established a whole story for how all/most of these characters have become Headmaster, with anyone else needing explanation having their Headmaster origin further added to the ongoing story.

I got TR overlord only a week and half ago but I ain't gonna lie i ordered legends as well. I can't wait for this. I think he looks great. The faces and new helmet sold me and while I Know it's an IDW thing only, I really wish the chest panels were the same dark blue as the chest. Not upset but that would have made my day.

Also if anyone is curious the tank and jet don't combine. It's just the chest plates folded out and using them to rest on the tank.

Though, other than Ape-X Arms and Broadside's Partner Drone, none of the Partner Drones have been colored to resemble anything other than the colors of the larger bot they've been paired with, so this elephant could just be colored the way it is simply because "it look cool".

Though, other than Ape-X Arms and Broadside's Partner Drone, none of the Partner Drones have been colored to resemble anything other than the colors of the larger bot they've been paired with, so this elephant could just be colored the way it is simply because "it look cool".

John Warden has told us otherwise. He told us there is an actual physical unlocking.

I'm quoting John Warden from the video Ryan uploaded to YouTube. When he says that the Prime Masters unlock something in the figure he quickly adds "through kid's imagination" making it exactly the same as the Titan Masters unlocking powers. He talked about them unlocking the ability to combine in Dreadwind and Blackwing even though they don't really, they just sit on the extra part that hasn't been clearly shown. He said the Voyagers come with bucklers that go on the arms, but don't actually do anything there. It would be hilarious if Megatron is dying after some battle and to save him they have to stuff his spark in an Elephant (Not a real one!) and he's all angry but he can't talk and is just making Elephant noises.

But honestly what if this is some weird homage to DOTM where Megatron there has a scene with Elephants (he even kills one in the script) and back during DOTM there was a rumor that Blitzwing was in the movie based off a screenshot of what turned out to be a fan made film.

Takara just used G1 Megatron colors since Legends is based off G1 instead of movie colors.

I think you hit it there. The "unlocking" is the same as say twin twists titan master "unlocks" the ability to freeze t-cogs or preceptors "unlocks" mass displacement.

Whew! The tan colored plastic and paint on these official Takara Tomy Mall pics make Blitzwing look much better. The purples used are also a bit darker than what we saw before. What are you thinking now, William-James? Still going Hasbro for darker purple and lighter beige, but with a purple face, wrong colored tank barrel, and crappy stickers? Or will you now get the Takara version with slightly lighter purple, slighter darker tan, non-purple face, and no crappy stickers?

Also, I thought of ONE reason why Takara might have retooled those chest flaps on Overlord. Perhaps they better hold on to the tank for their cartoon-accurate combined mode than the Hasbro ones? That's a feature that's more of an easter egg for Hasbro, but a MUST for Takara Tomy for this character, so it has to work well, not just "good enough."

Hmm...the only one that interests me out of the three is Blitzwing and he's a not quite enough of an upgrade for me. Tak Blitz has a more cohesive deco but the colors are a little too bright. I really wish at least the tan was darker. If it had extra Animated heads it would have been an instant preorder but as is I might not bother. Takara releases really have to wow me to spend the extra money. Speaking of which I need to get that Blurr re-release.

You're right I I had no idea. I figure they were just vehicles and such. Only legends figures I've gotten lately is Ginrai and Godbomber from this line with the gimmick. I can justify spending an amount on them due to their size but not $35-$50 on deluxe size ones.

They all look great I think the LG Cloudraker looks better than the TR one , Blitzwing gets rid of the dreaded stickers and just brightens up the overall paintjob and he looks all the better for it and Overlord ..... well I think this is what he should have been from the start = Masterforce accurate since Hasbro can't do an accurate IDW Overlord

Blurr is totally worth it. I snagged him on eBay in box for $20 and I love him. I was gonna get hot rod and kup but canceled hot rod after POTP. I don't need a slew of hot rods.

It wasn't hasbros goal at all to do IDW overlord. They went straight for G1 toy overlord.

Okay just checking, because you said that one might be representing the cartoon and the other the IDW comic. But it think it's just male & female.

Hasbro could really learn a thing or two from Takara Tomy sometimes. Hasbro Toy Shop really isn't being used to its full potential.

The Legends ones aren't even retools of each other, but they might still be gang-molded along with the new parts.

It has come to our attention thanks to Shajaki that Metroplex is being reissued in the Legends line. There is a listing on Takara Tomy Mall which tells us that it should be released late January 2018. It will cost ¥ 27,000 which is about $245 USD. We have included some images below of what Metroplex will look like.

With Trips coming out, it only makes sense to reissue this for those that missed him the first time. Hopefully, some U.S. retailers will import him.

Kapow has him up for preorder for just shy of £200, so he's still ppricey.

Seems like a bargain compared to the 7-11 Masterpiece.

I like the white top deck - nice and toy accurate. I think to capture my attention I'd want something to be worth re-buying it like some new accessories (like a Titanmaster base adaptor and ramps) and perhaps some new knees even another label sheet for the leg interiors would be nice.

I'm happy with my Acog one though.

I hope they have enough sense to not glue the legs shut on the Fort Max reissue though.

I would think that would be an easy one for Takara along with a Grand Maximus, heck Metro Titan would be easier since I'm not sure how they would make a Pretender Shell for Grand. I'm really liking that Overlord. I figured they'd include both Mega and Giga, but the feminine-looking head mode on Mega is a surprise. It'll definitely make for some interesting display options.

I can't wait to read the included manga. It'll be interesting seeing how they bring back the couple (probably a version of them from before they died).

They need to fix that damn ramp on Metro. I still don't know what they were thinking.

Yes, unlike with Overlord, I was never torn on Blitzwing. Since in the end the colour scheme (aside from the fucking tank cannon) is similar enough and there isn't anything really impressive it has over hsabro aside from the deco. Plus instead of an extra titanmaster for a different headsculpt ala animated, we get a titanmaster vehicle which I don't need and only raises the price.

After all costs accounted for, I can get a Hasbro Blitzwing plus TM Shuffler for $18.15 USD compared to Takara's Blitzwing for $46.07 USD. Thats 60% off and I get an extra hasbro exclusive titanmaster out of it. So in the end, my initial comment on takara's colours was more in the sense that I really didnt feel like I would be missing out on anything going the hasbro route and now the route doesnt change but I am now doing it as a cost saving measure and not simply by choice of a deco I preffer.

That little excercise I just did (took you guys 5 seconds to read it but a while to calculate) tells me that any american out there wanting to save 10$ is way better of getting their Blitzwing over at AE (http://www.anime-export.com/product/37012) than BBTS. Even with the expensive shipping, you still save at least 10$. Sure, you cant cancel your order and you pay right away but if anyone is sure to get this toy nomatter what, AE is the way to go here.

Oh and here is a similar excercise with Overlord.

Cheapest total cost for Hasbro version for me would be $31.68

Compared cheapest cost for the Legends version being $72.52 (another big difference with BBTS by going AE instead).

As usual, Takara paints them better. The hasbro version is fairly plain by comparison.

BBTS has it up for preorder already at $259.99. Better than the scalper eBay prices...

I dont find hasbro's Overlord plain at all. I actually was thrown off by it at first because it was too vibrant by going full G1 toy on it.
