Just to give you something else to look forward to in December, find below three images from regular suspect TFYuki, two featuring members of UW04 Guardian (Defensor, to some of us) both deluxe Groove going solo and the gestalt Transformer, a shot alongside UW05 Devastator, and finally, a teaser of the upcoming Takara Tomy take on the definitely-not-Galvatron combiner torso. Check them out!

So it looks like Takara's version of Galvatronus comes with the Rook mold, the Ironhide/Off Road mold, the Air Raid mold and the Skydive mold. If they're simple repaints or minor remolds, they'll be easy passes. Really....the only way I'd be interested in this set is if they're completely different characters that haven't had a toy in a while.

All his wheels are painted, like in the G1 cartoon, plus he has that added silver on the left foot which works wonders, and he has Bonecrisher's inner threads painted to match the other side. And finally, while it isnt paint, they use an extra plastic colour to give him the correct purple hands AND they paint both the inside missiles of the transformed inner hands plus give a nice grey painted line in the forearm to breakup all that black.

This is such a welcome change to the drab looking Hasbro one. Look at the colours from the begining of his forearm to the end of his fingers, its just all boring black plastic.

Takara improves this more than people are letting on. Hasbro's is the one whose combined mode looks like unpainted ass:

Image

I'll grant you the wheels, those were a godsend. And hasbro's version is about as cheaply made as possible.

But they could have added something to break up the absolute sea of nasty constructicon green. Even if all they did was add some visual flairs to the combined mode, like hazard stripes across the thighs, or scuffing on the buckets' teeth (scrappers specifically), pick out some details like ladders or stuff in silver, or color the exhaust vents black, something, anything, there's so much green...

If you are in to upgrading the details, Ocean Designs and it's doppleganger Eness are sure to come up with a remedy for the plain"ness"

Though, what's the point of releasing the mold, if people in japan wanted the character? For rook, it works, b/c they haven't gotten the mold at all, but without ruckus' head, offroad is really no different than the ironhide they're getting...

Would like to a see is they handle the deco on Galvatronus before I make a definite decision. If they're all Decepticons and they somehow establish the torso as someone that's not Cyclonus (doubtful), then I'll most likely bite. If not this and what Hasbro's going for, then it'll be a pass.

Someone on another board suggested that the UW release of Galvatronus could be another Energon homage like Convoy Grand Prime was. This idea led me to make the following guesses:

Cyclonus as Energon Megatron
Rook as Snow Cat
Offroad as dump truck Demolishor
Skydive as Starscream
Air Raid as Jet Mode Scorponok

Galvatronus as Megatron Hyper Mode

It would push the bounds of "Energon" (maybe Unicron Trilogy homage?) but I find Cybertron Thundercracker closer in style to Skydive. *shrug*

Unite Warriors answer to Galvatronus on left of image....

Starscream looks like one arm, the other looks like Skyquake to me perhaps, possibly Soundwave is the other leg and as for the Rook repaint the only thing it reminds me of at first glance is Overlord, certainly isn't Quake.

The set looks like it's nothing to do with Leo Kaiser either.. so we may still have that to come too in Unite Warriors form.

http://www.tfu.info/1989/Destron/Liokai ... kaiser.htm

What I find odd though is the colours the non-Starscream looking arm most resembles to me is Armada Thrust !!!

Folks have been speculating that this will be unicron trilogy themed, due to Rook's colour scheme resembling one of demolishor's many repaints, and a grey cyclonus, among other things.

There *was* also that version of onslaught with the Demolishor head that showed up somewhere a few weeks back, so we know the head mould exists already.

Several Seibertronians - RAR, MemphisR56 and Mindmaster among them - have been speculating on the appearance of the silhouette for the upcoming Takara Tomy release under the Unite Warriors line, of the Combiner Wars Galvatronus/Cyclonus mold. What seems to be the latest rumour from the image mirrored below from TakaraTomyMall, is that the entire set will be homaging the Unicron Trilogy, 'due to Rook's colour scheme resembling one of Demolishor's many repaints, and a grey Cyclonus, among other things'. Rightly pointed out 'there *was* also that version of Onslaught with the Demolishor head that showed up somewhere a few weeks back, so we know the head mould exists already'. What do you make of this? Check out the image, and speculate away in the Energon Pub!

Wow, this has me very interested. Just on the colors alone, regardless of what it may homage.

Did Starscream ever wear his traditional colors in the Unicron Trilogy?

Energon Starscream was repainted/remolded into his G1 not-undead look.

All in all, this seems strange to me. I would have expected a line up based on characters' start of show colors, not their repaints, and if they were doing an Energon homage, I would have expected torso-tron to be rendered in white, blue, and green (start of Energon), or to look more like the American version of CW Cyclonus, the G1 colors a close match to Energon Megatron's G1-Galvatron-style repaint.

Edit: I really feel like his left arm is supposed to look like Cybertron Crumplezone, but except for the torso being Thundercracker (if it uses Scattorshot's head), nothing else seems to line up with Cybertron/Galaxy Force. Plus, if they were doing Cybertron, I'd have expected Hotspot and Groove to be Mudflap and Ransack.

Edit 2: Left arm could be Armada Thrust? But again, the rest don't really line up with Armada.

Ah right. Thanks. I have Ghostscream. Forgot about the repaint.

I'm not convinced on the homage theories yet, though I'm open to them. I'm hoping it's just some wacky new cannon on Takara's part.

Obviously, the right arm is Starscream and the left leg is most likely Demolishor. The torso looks like it could be either Cybertron Galvatron or Energon Megatron (keep in mind that I know next to nothing about the UT. I'm just going off of colors). Left arm has Armada Thrust colors. And the right leg could be Brushguard. Or maybe an upsized Payload.

Re: Takara Transformers Unite Warriors TFYuki Images Round-Up (1745067)

I wonder if it's an intentional mish-mash of loosely Unicron related characters?

Torso looks to be based on Galvatron's G1 toy, with the prominent white/lavender.
You've got G1 Starscream on the right arm, and he (pretended to) helped Unicron in the Cartoon.
Left arm looks like Armada Thrust, who was convinced by Sideways to work for Unicron.
Right Leg might be Animated Soundwave? Cybertron Soundwave worked for Unicron, so maybe it's a loose connection?

As for the Left Leg, the only character I know of with that balance of white and red/orange was the 2007 Movie figure Wreckage, who also transformed into that type of vehicle. Although he has zero to do with the big yellow devilbot, so I don't know.

That's cool, no need to feel rushed on my account, besides, with yuki having tweeted about bigroove most of the last half a year, we've seen about everything there is to see of him. Still wouldn't mind a junkion two-pack of him :-?

(could you please name deluxe grooves gallery 'Bigroove'?)

The apparent steel blue/silver gradient makes me think of Movie Megatron's early toys.

Starscream was killed by a Unicron-powered Galvatron, Thrust was killed by Unicron's shoulder transforming... hell, Megatron could be considered "killed" to create Galvatron... who else was indirectly killed by Unicorn?

Just thinking about this. IF they are homaging the G1 Galvatron toy, (seems pretty logical) why would they homage Hasbro's?
Takara's looked like this.

Edit: My bad. That is the 2005 re-issue. 8-} Helps to read the fine print sometimes.
