New combatants into the thirtieth anniversary fray include Legends Acid Storm with Venin (redecos of the earlier Starscream with Waspinator, respectively), Gears with Eclipse (retool and redeco of the soon-to-be-released Swerve and what might be a redeco of Swerve's partner Flanker), Skrapnel and Reflector; Deluxes Jhiaxus (retool and redeco of Armada Starscream), Windblade, Crosscut, Rattrap and Beast Machines Tankor; Voyagers Roadbuster and Sky-Byte; Leader Jetfire; and finally, to amp up the dino-tude, an apparent reissue of Masterpiece Grimlock!
Also included is a three-minute video provided by fellow staffer El Duque:
...as well as a video showing off Masterpiece Grimlock and the two Platinum releases, "Year of the Horse" Optimus Prime and Starscream:

Yep, he's getting rereleased, and looks to be similar to the TakaraTomy Asian exclusive version.SDB81484 wrote:Is that a MASTERPIECE GRIMLOCK I see! With a Toys R Us sticker! Oh I pray he's schedule to be part of this years Masterpiece lineup!

Isn't it a bullet he has, not a cigar? I get the feeling he 'chews' on a bullet ala western toothpick style. Looks that way to me at least

As for the rest of the AoE, some are great, some are "meh." I like the '67 Camaro Bumblebee. The Corvette bot (I can't figure out who he's supposed to be) looks weird in vehicle mode, but the robot mode is okay. Drift looks like I expected him to, and Galvatron looks like a Chinese knock off. At least they got rid of MechTech.
Generations looks hit or miss. The only one I want is Jetfire.

Spider5800 wrote:Ooooh, I'm really digging that AoE Hound. Even with the box art showing that ridiculous beard and cigar. Two machine guns, a pistol and knife? Definitely picking that one up. I wonder if they fit into the robot mode somewhere, looks like they just left the extras from the second figure lying on the display.
I'm just going to build on the Twincast, and call that figure/character Sgt. Bulkhound.

... or sgt. Mcslinkyarms... those arms are the only thing about this figure that bothers me... most especially the fact they're on pieces that are clearly supposed to peg into the torso and someone left them unpegged, who do they even hire to put up their displays?!
Posted by Mindmaster on February 15th, 2014 @ 7:53pm CST
I'm also really digging Crosshairs. Awesome coattails are awesome!
Skipping on Bumblebee, as usual. I'm happy with my 2007 Camaro Concept Deluxe.
I seriously want to know what's up with Hound's arms. Perhaps there's some sort of punchy gimmick?
I'm digging Evasion Mode Optimus's vehicle mode... not so much his robot mode. His arms are what gets me. They look... bland.

Not until the film comes out in June.

Oh, and finally "EPIC" is a class of figure! The only word for that is...TITANic. Show-accurate, and you can see the play value for kids who want the bots so properly interact with the Burnses, but all I can think of when I see their chests open is Only Human, and think Dr. Morocco has packed them with explosives to destroy Griffin Rock. I'll have to see the Bots' minfigs inside themselves so I'll be able to think of Being John Malkovich instead.

What are the difference between the recently reissued Asian Market version of MP Grimlock and the one that TRU had in North America a few years ago? I can already tell that he's now without the "sticker" paint apps on his shoulder/biceps in robot mode that the first NA release included.

For Star Wars, there are some new things, like the Command Series line that looks like traditional army men figures…but they are Star Wars characters. Also be on the lookout for the Black Series, which will have a new look for fall of this year. Upcoming figures will include a Jabba the Hutt with moving arms and opening mouth, a Darth Vader from Episode VI with a removable helmet, Chewbacca, and many more. There will be many more revealed at the San Diego Comic Con, but for now, check out the pictures below, and click on any picture to take you to the full gallery.
If you’ve been looking forward to seeing what the My Little Pony line has in store for you, check out the images below and click on any picture to take you directly to the main gallery to see everything that was showcased. In this gallery, you’ll see Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony, Equestria Girls, some new things from Play-Doh, and more.

If they were made by lego, while they would cost more, they would disappear because the quality would be much better.
I have the first wave of Kreo combiners. They were a mistake to purchase.

Roadbuster looks promising, was hoping for a bit more updated look, or bulky, but not quite as shocking as Whirl.
Jetfire has me all tingly, as does Windblade.

AutoBorst wrote:Wow, this makes me embarrassed to be a TF fan. These make the previous film toys look like Masterpieces in comparison.
I'd say most of the responses make me embarrassed to be a TF fan. I can understand wanting toys to collect, but at the same time people have to understand that kids have, and always will make up the majority of who buys these. Being pissed that Hasbro is actually making toys that.. wait for it... Kids might actually enjoy? Go figure. This is the 4th movie. We've all known for a long time that one of the biggest complaints of the movie lines was that the transformations were too complicated. This is there answer. Ya, there not going to work for everyone and I get being upset. But calling them garbage because they were designed for children, the next Gen of FT toy collectors is ridiculous.
