And Evasion Mode Optimus? Cool! Sounds like a plot device.
Didn't see a name for the Argosy truck, was there one? Actually, I think I put it together with the description in the first post. Great work guys, keep it up.

Ingenious how they used the curves of the car's hood for Crosshair's coattails. Drift looks great, if a little too bulky. Can't wait to see the robot mode on that leader Grimlock.
So, are these the ones that are coming out in under the Generations line? If not, will there be another set of figures that will be even more complex/collector-oriented than these ones?

Also, these collector versions of the AOE deluxe toys. They look like a substantial size, and I would anticipate them being expensive for that reason. Don't be surprised if their price approaches $20

The Age of Extinction line has the simpler stuff and the Generations stuff. The latter is the more complex, collector geared line.
What we see here, other than the ones that look like shellformers and FABs, are the Movie Generations.

Armada Starscream Retool. But where's Nightbeat?
Everything look great, especially our fan favourite Sky-Byte. Hey, I wonder if his bio will be written in a haiku like they said they would for Universe

That would be Galvatron, yeah! Which also visually confirms the slicing bot from the trailer.

That would be Hasbro. Hrrm. Unless Ryan got his fingers and eyes tangled with the presentation!
And yeah, that does not look like Nightbeat.

I was going to skip the movie line! Why in the hell do these have to look awesome!
I was telling myself to skip the movie line because, after having seen the first edition Optimus, I thought it would be horrible! I figured I'd get Grimlock and MAYBE Crosshairs, but they all look awesome! That's not fair! My wallet can't repel want of this magnitude!
**EDIT**
Also: I am *SOOOOOOO* glad I didn't go through with my plan to buy the Ruination version of the Wreckers since it looks like we'll be getting Generations versions of all of them! Just need Impactor, Twintwist, Topspin, Wrack n' Ruin, and Broadside now!

Yep. That's it. I'm good.Va'al wrote:Leader Jetfire, Voyager Roadbuster, Sky Byte, Deluxe Jhiaxus, Windblade, Nightbeat, Legends Gears and Acid Storm.
Nothing can spoil my mood now. I was even right about the fact he'd be an updated Mugen Calibur. The current generations designer seems to have a knack for giving us updated Robotech designs.
The only possible downside would be that we don't get an IDW style Megatron and Optimus, due to the designer's nostalgia favor. I really hope that isn't the case. I want IDW Optimus done right, there is no substitute.

But I do like the new helmets.
Posted by kirbenvost on February 15th, 2014 @ 3:26pm CST
Actually. I have a lot to say. I'm so glad that Legends rumor was just that. Swerve, I look forward to adding you to my collection soon, my little friend.
Roadbuster looks really cool! Maybe not as slavishly G1 in alt mode as the FP figure, but I'll take it. Beats spending $100.
Jetfire does of course look amazing, but I'm really not digging that red chrome. I hope that falls by the wayside when the final product comes out. If not... might need to invest in some 3rd Party accessories.
OH. And Windblade. It's a good thing they revealed her bot mode earlier, the way she's transformed/posed here is kind of meh. The alt mode looks sweet though, she's a definite buy now.
And YAY MP Grimlock, for those who missed out. With all these releases, there's no excuse to not have him now.
Now as for AOE:
We knew there were going to be Generations, but I'm fluctuating between 'DO NOT BUY' and 'Give it a chance'. So far the most promising one seems to be Evasion Mode OP, who I might get just so my Optimus Prime shelf can have some G1/Movie hybrid love.
I was actually kind of looking forward to the classic Camaro Bee but this is not really doing it for me. I realize many of these are probably mistransformed to some degree, but it's not looking good.
Drift and Crosshairs do look pretty cool but they don't resemble their original selves in any way so I might just skip out altogether. My collection is G1-focused so without much of a connection, they're just taking up space. It's a shame too, because a blue Bugatti Veyron would make a perfect Blurr. Missed opportunity, there. I'll wait and see how Hound turns out though.
Grimlock... I dunno. He's a cool looking robot and a cool looking dinosaur, but he doesn't really look like Grimlock to me. IF I get him, I might just wait for a repaint. But I can see myself just skipping the majority of this line so far.
ALSO HECK YEAH KREONS! Is that at Jetfire I see?? I will continue to get all the G1-inspired guys, even though I haven't even opened any my Wave 3 ones yet. I'm waiting until I have a sufficient display area.
Posted by zatara1701 on February 15th, 2014 @ 3:28pm CST
Hellz to the yeah... To think I just about plopped down $40 on the iGear Cosmos cuz I want a new one on my shelf next to Hench/Brawn
With all the cool toys coming down, I might have to decide between MP Ultra Magnus and a bunch of Generations and AoE cool stuff... Decisions, decisions.
** Random thought... So are they rereleasing MP Grimlock stateside?? I have the original but thought his appearance interesting**

AMEN TO THAT!
Besides which I see no rationale in doing a leader class figure more G1 given that MP-10 basically is a leader class figure when you exclude the trailer.
Posted by noctorro on February 15th, 2014 @ 3:32pm CST
All the worries for nothing.
Be honest, there's never been a TF line chock full of awefull figures.
They look amazing!
Evasion Prime. .. ... almost shed a tear there. Might also be in the movie.
The new game that's coming out, .. another tear.
I iz happy. Can't wait for stuff to show up in stores/online stores.

Evasion Mode OP looks nice. but it seems he has gorilla/curling arms. Not cool.
NYCC one IS the Leader Class ??? Oh well, it still looks good. Definitely getting him and Grimlock.
Galvatron is meh.
The deluxes are awesome.
Generations movie figures are TOTALLY BOUGHT!
Now the non-movie figs.
JETFIRE AND SKY-BYTE!!!!
Roadbuster looks......ok....I guess. Not too impressed w/ him. Might get him.
Legends figure confirmed NOT CANCELED!
Windblade: Cool
Jhiaxus: Nice
Nightbeat: Nowhere to bee seen.
Everything we've seen before: Still like it.
Yeah, shaping up to be a good year.

Speaking of which. I find it kinda irritating that they happen to be re-releasing only the very Masterpiece figures which I happen own. Not even a peep about all those other Masterpieces that have been out in japan for a while.Shadowstream wrote:Besides which I see no rationale in doing a leader class figure more G1 given that MP-10 basically is a leader class figure when you exclude the trailer.

Also, Jhiaxus is surprisingly different from Armada Starscream. Not bad, but I really have no attachment to the character.

Optimash Prime and Taterlock (That's what I'm calling them) make me laugh and smile like a dopey kid.

So do we have a name for the new Freightliner truck from AoE? I saw the figure in a couple of the photos.
The only 1 that seriously caught my eye is High Octane Bumblebee, and only because of the car mode.
